September 2018: #3! Early scans and booking in... it's all getting very real!

For those of us with September 2018 due dates

Hey all. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and got my first scan on Thursday! So so nervous. Second pregnancy after loss in October and so far I have very little symptoms which doesn't help my anxiety!

Marking my place. 7 weeks as of today, and still feeling a bit nervous that I might have a missed miscarriage... Symptoms seem to be coming and going, and my nausea has dropped off a lot.

Not sure if this is normal, as it's my first. Booked my first scan privately for Wednesday, so I'm being a massive pessimist and am preparing myself for the worst (though secretly hoping for the best).

Wednesday can't come soon enough! I feel like the first trimester is moving so slowly.

Had a scan today thought I was 8 weeks tomorrow but only measuring 6w+1 day so was way out. Oh well all looked ok so can rest easy for a day or two ha! My symptoms come and go too. No sickness yet which I think I should be happy about x

Hi, can I join! I'm around 6 weeks with dc2. I'm 38, and live in France but I am English. Not sure of edd as conceived straight after a mc without having a period so it was a bit of a surprise.
I've had mild nausea up until yesterday and it's ramped up suddenly and feel terrible today.
Looks like I have a lot to catch up on so I will check back through the old thread.

So difficult to follow these threads with so much activity! I am 6 weeks tomorrow, not had loads of symptoms just a bit of nausea in the mornings and sore boobs! Due on 25/9 I think. I have booked an early scan for 2 weeks time so I will be nearly 8 weeks then, hoping all is well! Does anyone else have suspicious friends?!

@MoDip yep and I'm the world's worst liar so if they ask outright I freeze and say yes oh well, at least we've seen a heartbeat on a scan now!

Im 26 and I am 7+1 with DC1. Symptoms aren't strong at all except tiredness, which whilst I'm relieved about it, it means I don't really feel pregnant so I'm booking a private 8w scan for next weekend hopefully. Excited to actually see it! 😁

@muffyduffster haha not harbouring their suspicions for very long then! My best friend keeps saying things which make me sure she knows but she’s just not asking me!

7 weeks today and still no real symptoms. Other than peeing much more. I was so sick by this point with dd I'm wondering if it means a ds this time.

@Namechangedtoscream I haven't seen a list on here but it's nice idea, it would be good to know who else is due on the same day!

Thank you for your response re the harmony test @Secondsop its great to hear of a good experience of having it done. i'm going to look into it a bit more.

Thanks @FlybyNight1 that's good to know. I wonder what date it will be at the dating scan, i'm interested to find out. i've got a while to wait though as I'm only 5w

Checking in 👋🏻 8 weeks tomorrow. Had booking in last week, all feels very real now I've got my blue notes! Had a bit of a day of it today, my DD who is not quite 2 yet was ill with a fever in the week (nothing too serious, managed with Calpol) and she's been fine since Friday. It's meant lots of broken sleep though and I am so exhausted. I didn't get any early pregnancy symptoms with DD except extreme tiredness and it looks like his one is the same. It's utter bone deep exhaustion. Still, at least I'm not sick!

Then DD came out on a rash today, argh! Ended up down the out of hours doctor to make sure it wasn't serious for her, or anything I could catch (my friend caught Parvo while pregnant and had all sorts of problems). Luckily she's fine, doctor says just the end of a viral bug. Early night for us all tonight!

Hope you are all well. Got my scan date too, for the last week of Feb. Eek!

Good to join the new thread and read all the early weeks updates. Like secondsop I'm an older Mum too (42) and I'm learning a lot about the Harmony tests which I knew nothing about. My youngest child is 4 so perhaps it wasn't around 5 years ago. I'll ask my midwife at my booking in appointment. I'm 5 weeks so early days for me.

I’m not going in to uni tomorrow. I feel absolutely shite and my friend has asked me out in the evening to an acoustic night at our local bar. Would I be unreasonable to sleep, do my work from home then get a bit pretty and go out for a few hours?

I’m 31 and am 6w2d. My GPs sent my paperwork to the wrong hospital, so I’m going to call up tomorrow and self refer. We moved house not long ago, so also due to change GP (but not until I’ve had my flu jab next week!!)

I’ve told my parents, but DH wants to wait until the 12 week scan.

Close friends and family know as they’d also know if anything went wrong but we’re not announcing on social media until the twelve week scan at least, even longer if I can stop myself.

The thing is, I used to be a big socialiser in the bars where I used to work and where my friends still work. Think a decent amount of drinks each weeknight outing once a week and lots of dancing. I know they know something is up and I feel like I’m losing friends over it so I do want to tell them soon as I’m going to need to switch to these nights being sober or coffee dates.

If everything is good on the scan Tuesday at 8+5 I think I’ll snapchat out a photo from it but not post it on Facebook. That way all close-ish friends will know but nobody in our wider circle of family, acquaintances and colleagues.

We didn't get a dating scan until 14 nearly 15 weeks last time then there was a bit of a wait for the screening results to be back so didn't tell anyone (except my bestie) before then! The in laws especially were a bit put out at being told 'so late' but it's a really personal thing as to when you feel ready to share the news! DH in particular wanted all his ducks in a row with regards to the results as he didn't want to get his hopes up before knowing everything was 'ok'. I guess as a result we spent the first trimester not really allowing ourselves to get excited... this time round I feel so ill and DS sleeps so badly I just don't have the energy for excitement! Haha bring on 2nd trimester!!

In my first two pregnancies we told parents before the pee sticks were dry. But thistime we're waiting till 16 weeksish maybe more. Partly as Sil is getting married when I'll be around 14 weeks and I don't want to announce what will be a big surprise for the family so close to her big day. She's planned and canceled this wedding twice before and while she won't mind I don't want people thinking I'm a thunder stealer wannabe. Plus my mum is a dick when I'm pregnant, I don't want that shitstorm. She's not ruining my last pregnancy.

So I'll probably try and keep quiet as long as my stomach allows.

Morning. Marking my place. Have been pretty down this weekend and adamant I've miscarried. But my nausea and sore boobs seemed to strengthen with a vengeance yesterday so I don't know what to think. I am planning on getting as much work done as possible this week and then I'll ask the EPU for a scan on Friday. I have my booking in appointment on Thursday so maybe the midwife will be happy to refer me (although it is self refer).

kirinm my nausea came back yesterday too. We’re about the same way along, right? Hoping it’s just funny bodies and where there’s been illness too it’s overshadowed the symptoms.

Getting as much work as possible done today so I can take tomorrow off. GP at 10am and scan at 12pm then the midwife Wednesday lunch time. Need to get the house in order before she arrives.

I’ve been awake since 7am and I’m already feeling the exhaustion kick in. Power through is my new mantra and it doesn’t work.

Ladies, I’m afraid I’m out. 8 week scan this morning and it’s all wrong for dates considering where things were at my scan 2 weeks ago. I feel dreadful - I didn’t realise how much I wanted another baby. I wish you all very healthy pregnancies.
