September 2018: #3! Early scans and booking in... it's all getting very real!

For those of us with September 2018 due dates

So excited for your scan news Namechangedtoscream. I’ve got every hope and faith that this is going to work out for us both this time!

I’ve obviously always had a tilted uterus and I didn’t think it made any difference in previous pregnancies but I saw the GP today who said until it tilts back to expect more back pain than someone with a non-tilted uterus. He even prescribed me cocodamol as mine is so bad some days I’m not moving.

It's great to see your scan Mona. I've finally found the new group I must have been missed but I'm still not overly sure how all this works anyway.

My scan is next Friday, will be approx 9+5, 3 full weeks after the last scan so will be nice to see the difference although I'll still be terrified beforehand!

Hoping for good news Fia! 9 weeks - it’s all getting a bit real now!

@guiltynetter I'm paying privately for my 8 week scan. Mainly because we were so surprised to get bfp (even though we wanted this to happen we didn't actually expect it to ). This is our first and I've had minimal/no symptoms which is great, but we're kind of stuck in this weird disbelief stage. So we're paying £40 to actually see it so we can get our heads around it. Don't expect to see alot but just want to check that something is there. We'd like to start telling friends and family but because of the 'doesn't quite feel real' thing, we feel weird about it.

Sounds completely insane I know but hey ho, that's my reason.

Hello everyone, had scan this morning and everything is okay. Baby is there and in the right place. Saw a super fast little heartbeat. Very relieved!

Ok, I seem to have taken on the official role of group stat monitor today.... I actually don't mind doing this but I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. I don't even know who started the stats?

I do find them quite nice to have, it's useful being able to see how far people are along

Tried to write congratulations on the scans a few times but the kids are going mad play fighting and have deleted the message a few times lol.

It’s the full moon I think. My kids have been mental play fighting since coming back from school. Definitely blaming the moon! 🌕

First home midwife appointment tomorrow. Doing a rapid fire clean tonight because I know I’ll be far too exhausted tomorrow. I want everything looking lovely for her first visit so she thinks I have my shit together

Had my booking in today and now I've got my notes feels a lot more real. Midwife has referred me to be consultant led after probs with high BP last time. Now onto the scan only 3 weeks to wait....

Having some major cramps at the moment. DH needs taking to a&e with a flare up of a chronic issue (care instructions are get to a&e) and the teenager is due at cadets that they can't miss or they'll be kicked out due to missing too many sessions.

Little bit stressed at the moment and (lighthearted) it would be a day I've spent in my pjs unwashed and feeling ill anyway

Namechangedtoscream How are you working around these? Sounds like a nightmare! I hope your DH is okay!

Bil runs a cadet force tonight for a different organisation in the town - despite him living in a different one - he is working it that he will escape, pick my dc Up, take them to his cadets until they finish then bring dc home. I'm going to get DH to hospital. Come home. Cry into the dog and go to bed.

Is DH likely to be admitted or is it more of a check up at the hospital?

Blood tests, painkillers, fluids and usually admission for a few days.

Oh NameChanged you really do have it tough right now. It's best you've been unwashed in your pjs all day, you'd have struggled more had you been at work. I hope your dh recovers quickly and isn't into much pain.

Mona now I know it's a full moon everything makes sense. No wonder the teacher looked so defeated at pick up.

Is anyone else losing weight rather than gaining? I feel starving but by the time I've cooked end up nibbling away at it feel I can't eat any more yet still feel hungry

Twinkle I’m losing weight. Not a lot and only in pounds, gaining inches and my jeans are feeling tight. When I’m starving, as soon as I get food I’m full very quickly so I graze all day on small snacks to stop myself feeling so sick and starving.

I've been feeling some very mild nausea off and on the last day or so. It makes it still seem so unreal. I'm 7+2 today.

It's still two weeks until my booking in appointment. Urgh. Feel like everything is moving so slowly. Hopefully though it'll feel like less time between booking in and first scan. My lack of symptoms did make me feel almost tempted to get a private scan, but I have no reason to worry really and should just try to enjoy it.
