Everything crossed for you Kirin Thanks

Zoey36 · 22/02/2018 07:27

@kirinm We are all thinking of you.

Does anyone know why, looking at the scan pictures, some babies 'fill up' the space and some look like they are floating in masses of space? Mine looks like the latter but looking at other people's pictures, more seem to be more snug. The sonographer didn't raise anything so I'm not concerned, just curious.

Namechangedtoscream · 22/02/2018 07:28

Thinking of you kirinm

ShutTheFridgeUp · 22/02/2018 07:48

@Zoey36 mine looks like it had loads of space too, perhaps it depends on the angle they go in at?

blondie1001 · 22/02/2018 08:09

Oh no kirin hope you get seen quickly. Got everything crossed for you xxx

Sals27 · 22/02/2018 09:14

Oh kirin I really hope it's not bad news. Thinking of you!

Zoey I have wondered that too Confused

blondie1001 · 22/02/2018 09:53

Keep checking back for news from @kirinm - thinking of you xxx

LostMyBaubles · 22/02/2018 10:07

Thinking of you kirin
Fx its just a little bleed around the sac which can happen to anyone and still have healthy baby

Zoey snap! Baby seems to have loads of space, im thinking maybe amniotic fluid??

kirinm · 22/02/2018 10:26

Miraculously there is still a heartbeat. Baby is measuring right but there is evidence of bleeding above cervix which apparently means an increased risk of miscarriage. They said that the fact I'm over 12 weeks goes in my favour. Not really sure how I feel to be honest. Not hugely reassuring.

Sals27 · 22/02/2018 10:36

Kirin its great news your baby has a heartbeat. I think you've got a determined little one in there. Keep hanging on in there baby Kirin!

Do you have to go back to check or do you have to wait until your 12w scan? Its early next week isnt it?

kirinm · 22/02/2018 10:38

They said I can go back if I bleed again but my scan is on Monday morning and I don't think I'll go there tomorrow unless I feel like I'm miscarrying.

Was allowed to hear the heartbeat this time. Measuring 147bpm.

blondie1001 · 22/02/2018 10:39

Great news about the heartbeat. What are the next steps? Have they offered to do anything like extra scans or anything like that?

blondie1001 · 22/02/2018 10:40

x-posted. 147 is a good healthy heartbeat!

kirinm · 22/02/2018 10:53

No next steps just told I'm welcome to come back if I need to go back. I would quite like some reassurance at next weeks scan but I don't know how likely that is. This doctor didn't sugar coat things - I wasn't hysterical this time as was prepared for bad news.

ShutTheFridgeUp · 22/02/2018 11:00

Sorry to hear that things are still so uncertain for you, Kirin, but for now your baby is safe with a lovely heartbeat.

CuppaSarah · 22/02/2018 11:21

Oh Kirin I'm sorry you didn't get reassurance, but so so thrilled baby's still well. Are you able to rest much today? Are you still bleeding?

kirinm · 22/02/2018 11:28

No the bleeding has tailed off but she said I may bleed again as there is still blood there. My job is very sedentary so I'm back at work. It's only 4 days to wait until another scan. If things are okay I can't see myself getting from 13w to 20w without some regular check ups!

Is 147bpm a good heartbeat or too slow? I've obviously googled everything and baby is bang on size wise for 12w2 days so at least he / she is doing what they're meant to. It's just me and my body that seems to have problems in keeping itself together!

CuppaSarah · 22/02/2018 11:34

I think 147 is a fab heartbeat, under 145 means boy in the old wives tale I think, so you're right in the middle of normal I'd guess! I'm not sure there is good or bad, as it fluctuates so much with baby's movement. You body has gotten you to over 12 weeks this time, that's the toughest part. Your body is doing fabulously, it's just not being very considerate to you with its symptoms.

CuppaSarah · 22/02/2018 11:38

Kirin I just found this thread on babycentre, lots and lots of womens experiences and at 12 weeks all varying from 120 up to 180. I haven't read the entire thread, but you look to be about average.

kirinm · 22/02/2018 11:40

Ah Thanks @CuppaSarah you've made me want to 😭! You're all being so kind

SquidgyMcPidgy · 22/02/2018 12:04

Kirin 147 is a great heartbeat, my little boy’s was around that too.

I had my booking in appointment today (12wks) and they booked me for a scan when I’ll be 13w5d. Worried this is too late for the screening tests and might skew my results? :(

HanSpan1 · 22/02/2018 12:05

Been lurking in the background for a couple of weeks, as work has been hectic!

Had my 12 week scan this morning, (the first scan ive had) a good strong heartbeat, and saw baby moving around. However the baby was in the wrong position to get a nuchal measurement, it was in a like of handstand position? They have asked me back next week to get the measurements/scan again.

They also found a cyst on my ovary, it was like 5cm x 4cm, she said its nothing to worry about and they will keep an eye on it. She said anything over 3cm and i need to see a consultant. Has anyone had a cyst before? Do they go down/reduce/go away?

Just noticed this thread is about to fill up so I started a new one: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/3175359-September-2018-4-12-weeks-scans-and-bumps-appearing

Twinkletoes2018 · 23/02/2018 00:24

I had to tell work at 4 weeks because of a situation at work where due to risk assessment had to ask for help from a colleague as couldn't do a certain task being being pregnant. They wet a bit suprised as had only been back fr May leave for 2 weeks but have been supportive since.
