OMG! INSOMNIA!!!!
Felt like I was up all night and when I did fall asleep I had the weirdest dreams which also managed to wake me up.

@iamloading and @Fia256. So so sorry to hear about your losses. I can only imagine how you are feeling. Lots of ThanksCake and I hope you both have healthy and happy babies x

BadHominem · 14/01/2018 09:41

I'm another one here who's pretty much never going to relax. Four previous miscarriages; 1 at 9w6d, another at 6w, and two more at 5w. The two at 5w I knew weren't going anywhere because the tests were never darkened. The one at 9w6d I started bleeding around 6w, and scans showed baby was behind with low betas. The 6w one came out of the blue - darkening tests and felt pregnant but suddenly started bleeding.

I'm not going to have a scan till at least 8w, preferably 9w. The chance of miscarriage if a heartbeat is seen in someone with a history of recurrent miscarriage at 6w is 22%, 8w is 2% and 10w 0.6%. If you don't have a history of recurrent miscarriage then the odds are much, much better, so don't let those numbers worry you! But I've seen a heartbeat at 8w and still lost the baby, so the later the better for me.

Midwife should be phoning me next week. I'm doing to request betas to check it's a good level and doubling appropriately. Then 4wks of thinking positive before a scan!

ShutTheFridgeUp · 14/01/2018 09:42

I was awake a lot last night too. Was utterly convinced the first time that I woke that it would be about 6 in the morning... nope, only just gone midnight! I woke at least another 4 times during the night, and don't even get me started on the bloody sciatic pain that wakes me if I lay in one position for too long 😫 I can feel a nice sciatica attack brewing and am not looking forward to it!

littlepooch · 14/01/2018 09:49

Early pregnancy is so hard. I've had losses in the past and find it so hard to relax. With my last successful pregnancy I don't think I stopped worrying until she was in my arms!

If I get that far I'd like to have a scan at 8 weeks. But we will see if I make it. I usually go into central London for my early scans but I just can't do that this time with 2 little ones and a double buggy so need to try and find somewhere more local.

Fia256 · 14/01/2018 09:59

Thanks @UppityStitch Thanks I'm also suffering with insomnia! I wake every night at 2.30 for a good hour or two! I hate it!

Sorry to all who have had miscarriages, it makes pregnancy so difficult but there seems to be so many of us who have been through it and it's nice we all can support each other and understand!

I'm 6 weeks today, and finally this morning, almost had to run to the toilet to be sick! Managed to breathe it back but I feel so much better now nausea is properly showing!

iamloading · 14/01/2018 10:16

My heart goes out to you as well @BadHominem - interesting to read the stats. I don't know how far along I am yet as it was my first period after giving birth so my cycles are no doubt somewhat odd!
Isn't it crazy how we are all desperate to feel sick 😂

Paranormalbouquet · 14/01/2018 10:56

Nausea much better here but that’s because I went to bed at 1030 and got up at 9. Fatigue makes it worse. I’m still a bit tired but that’s a constant feature!

CuppaSarah · 14/01/2018 11:04

I'm so sorry about everyones losses. It must be so scary right now.

I only took folic acid last time, so maybe it is the vitamin d keeping everything down.

UppityStitch · 14/01/2018 11:05

@BadHominem my thoughts are with you as well ThanksCake. Thank you for those stats, very informative!

My first pregnancy in 2012 ended in a MMC at 10 weeks, only a sac measuring 5 weeks could be seen on the ultrasound. I grieved that pregnancy deeply and it took ages before I ready to try again. With DS in 2014 it took a while before I felt settled. An early scan at 8 weeks was a bit of reassurance. I will try and go the same route this time as already I can feel the anxiety kicking in.

littlepooch · 14/01/2018 11:05

Hurray! That has made me a feel a bit better today 😁

Hooray! Gotta love a 3+ Grin

Secondsop · 14/01/2018 11:46

Morning all. It’s so hard going through these early weeks. I have my early scan tomorrow - the doctor referred me because of the twingey pains I’d been having on one side - and it’s a super-busy time at work so I am expecting to just have to go straight in after it. I don’t know what I’ll do if it’s bad news. I’m on my own as my husband is away for work for several weeks. Not feeling much in the way of symptoms either today. I do seem to remember this from last time though as I had utterly convinced myself I was no longer pregnant and went into an early scan fully expecting bad news. I just know this is the last throw of the dice for me though given my age, which is the big difference from last time.

Re the vitamins, I’m taking folic acid and vitamin D - I have a prescribed larger dose of folic acid.

Morning. Nausea is back with a vengeance. I've been standing in the bathroom heaving which is pretty gross. It's so odd how it comes and goes.

I dreamt I woke up bleeding. I'm not sure the anxiety will ever pass.

zooz · 14/01/2018 11:56

TMI but I'm going to the loo a couple times a day and I don't mean a #1. Is this a thing?

After reading all your posts I need to get some vitamin D. Only taking folic acid at the moment.

FannyTheFlamingo · 14/01/2018 12:12

Just marking my place. Still no symptoms at almost 7 weeks! Not even a sore boob. I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about.

Paranormalbouquet · 14/01/2018 12:23

I’m 7 weeks and my symptoms come and go non stop. Vary from severe nausea to feeling absolutely fine.

Namechangedtoscream · 14/01/2018 12:26

The sickness has really taken hold here. I'm getting woken by nausea, I'm being sick before I'm even getting in the shower. Everything is bouncing out that goes in now. I'm going back on the cyclizine tomorrow so I can try and hide it at work.

Pollywhatshername · 14/01/2018 13:08

Just found the new thread now. Have had a busy few days. This is my third pregnancy and I have way less symptoms this time. On previous two I was vomiting before I even got a bfp. I'm 5.5weeks now and had some nausea last week but nothing the last few days. I am eating and sleeping better...hoping that's why. Don't have a scan for another 3 weeks. Confused
Delighted for the people with the good scan news...and positives vibes for those who are due back to check on progress! Flowers

Sals27 · 14/01/2018 13:09

I'm another taking folic acid + vitamin D.

Seriously sore boobs here. I'm going to have to get wire free bras and start sleeping in them. Taking my bra off is so uncomfortable

HannahJH · 14/01/2018 14:30

I’m suffering really badly with my anxiety. I’m sure it’s my hormones that are stopping me from being able to rationalise things but I might go to the doctor.

Uppity yes I think if I’m lucky enough to get to 8 weeks, I’ll pay for a scan too.

My tummy has been feeling upset zooz. I’m dreading work tomorrow.

dingdongdigeridoo · 14/01/2018 14:50

Sorry to hear about your anxiety Hannah. Yes it's important to see your doctor about it, as too many pregnant women suffer with mental health issues. Have you tried CBT? They may be able to refer you.

Dealing with anxiety is so hard. I sometimes find it helps to treat my anxiety as a really annoying person. When they start chattering at me with irrational thoughts, I tell them to fuck off. I tell my anxiety that it won't be ruining my evening, and that I'm going to ignore it. Weirdly, it sometimes works.

muffyduffster · 14/01/2018 16:06

Hannah I'm doing a CBT course online with a company called SilverCloud, it's very good. I was on low-dosage beta blockers for my anxiety but have had to stop them in pregnancy.

MonaTheMoaner · 14/01/2018 16:13

I’m finding it so hard to quit smoking this time around. With both DD’s I quit the minute I got the positive very easily but I think it’s because I have smoked so many per day over the past seven years.

Reading Alan Carr’s book and I’m on a 3mg vape liquid that I use in times of dire emergency a couple of puffs a day but I obviously want to be zero nic and zero vape asap. Doctor said the vape is much safer than smoking but obviously not a 100% safe so I’m really beating myself up about it. It’s progress though from 40 odd rollies a day to this :(

Twinkletoes2018 · 14/01/2018 17:07

@HannahJH my anxiety has been high also think it's great to speak to gp and mention it at booking in. I've already been referred back to the perinatal mental heath team to keep a close eye on me to help me control the anxiety x

LostMyBaubles · 14/01/2018 17:34

Has anyone found anything to help with the nausea
So bloody bad atm
