@peterpanwendy
I was watching a YouTuber (don’t judge haha) and his girlfriend was having an op to remove a cyst on her ovary. She’s quite young in her 20’s and I’m not lying they showed a picture of hers and it was like the size of your palm without fingers!! She had to have it removed as she was getting a lot of pain and cramps from it. The op should have lasted 45 mins but took her 2.5 hours as they tried to keyhole it but couldn’t complete it fully in that method. She was out the next day. And is off work for 3 months. Looks like it’s best to have it removed at some point. I know that if I had one I’d like it removed ASAP. I’m sure the baby is fine and hopefully it does shrink 🤞

amzq87 · 13/01/2018 21:13

@Gem173 I'll be 12+6 at my scan but I suppose it depends on how busy your local ANC is and when they can fit you in :-) hope the time goes quickly for you x

BertieBotts · 13/01/2018 21:47

It looks like it's time for thread 3 already! :)

Aspergallus · 13/01/2018 22:11

Peterpanwendy try not to worry, the majority of cysts arise through normal ovarian function rather than anything more sinister. Most cysts seen in early pregnancy will shrink and eventually go during 2nd trimester. Mine is quite big and I'm a little uncomfortable but not worried.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/01/2018 22:16

My scan letter from today said: right ovary-cystic. But the woman didn't even mention it - just that I had ovulated from my right & that I might get some pains there for that reason.

amzq87 · 13/01/2018 22:18

Haha - I was thinking the same today @BertieBotts! Haven't been on for a couple of days and noticed how many messages we've got :-)

peterpanwendy · 13/01/2018 23:03

@Aspergallus @TheGrumpySquirrel that's exactly what mine said, she said it's small, caused by ovulation, ovulated from right ovary which is where the cyst is and if I feel any pain from there then that's why. Good to know they just go away on their own. So happy to have heard the heartbeat feel much more relaxed now :)

gkeen369 · 14/01/2018 04:10

It's been a nice day hearing about everyone's scans.
I'm on a night shift right now and this is when my nausea is at its worst (well, and when I'm brushing my teeth!) Its so exhausting as I've got used to being asleep by 10pm!
I have my booking in appt Monday. Very much excited.
Just returning to vaccinations.. has anyone who had the whooping cough jab in the past also had to have the anti-d? And is it as bad? Anti-d is the most painful injection I've ever had and really dreading it again never mind another painful one as well!!!

BunBunMum · 14/01/2018 05:43

Morning All! I’m up with DS persuading him that he would like to sleep more! He slept 9-5 though which is pretty unheard of for him so can’t really complain! I feel so much better after decent sleep!

I’m very jealous of all the scans and appointments. I was at the Drs on Wednesday which will trigger a scan appointment but the midwives are so busy that I can’t get booked in until I’m 10+6, which is 6th Feb!!

Hope you all have a good day

Babydreaming · 14/01/2018 06:23

@bunbunmum my little one also woke me at 5.30! ....unfortunately he also woke at midnight and 1am too!!

I’m 10 weeks today and haven’t even been to the GP yet let alone been referred for booking appointment or scan! I moved house so it’s all been complicated but I’m booked into see GP in the morning so hopefully things will start moving then. I’m not worried about the late booking appointment as didn’t find it changed much last time but do want my scan! I had one earlier this week though so will just trust the due date on that.

Congrats to those with scans! Lovely to hear.

Don’t worry too much about pregnancy cysts. I had one in my last pregnancy and then didn’t hear anything more about it on later scans!

OP posts:
CumbrianExile · 14/01/2018 07:40

gkeen I don't remember the whooping cough vaccine being as bad as the anti d injections but I don't get too fussed about injections and it was 4 years ago.
I hope you got through your night shift and get plenty of rest today.

spydie · 14/01/2018 07:52

Lovely to hear about all these scans. Impatiently waiting for mine on the 29th!!

Had a terrible evening, started getting what I thought was trapped wind pains. Got worse and worse and was in complete agony and was starting to panic something was wrong. TMI but turns out I must have eaten something that disagreed with me as had terrible diarrhoea. Feeling pretty yucky today. On the plus side though, no longer constipated and lost the bloat..Hmm

TheMildManneredMilitant · 14/01/2018 08:54

Morning all just catching up lovely to hear about some positive scans.
Those with cysts - I think they can regularly form at ovulation and burst later on. There's also something called a corpus luteum cyst which some women have in early pregnancy and others don't.
11 + 4 and definitely got a lot less nausea and feeling more 'well' but pregnancy stuffy nose is stopping me sleeping properly and giving me a horrible dry mouth which means i'm up almost every hour to blow my nose/guzzle water/wee. The pharmacist was less than helpful when I asked about antihistamimes so going to try and speak to gp.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 14/01/2018 09:01

corpus luteum cyst

Yes pretty sure this is what I have. Still feeling good - just get tired after eating , and I'm up every hour or two in the night to wee !

SpriteGirl · 14/01/2018 09:29

@TheMildManneredMilitant I too seem to be suffering from rhinitis of pregnancy. Having to go to bed with two big glasses of water to get me through the night. It’s not every night thank God but so annoying when it does happen. And my nose just seems blocked, blowing doesn’t seem to help during the night.

Stephiewoo · 14/01/2018 09:38

Morning all. Feeling less sicky in the morning now as long as I eat, so it's a kitkat with a cuppa and then bacon and cream cheese bagel! Got to be done. Feel shattered though, could of done with lie ins this weekend.
Back to work tomorrow. Will be keeping it a secret for a bit I think too.
8+3 today but I feel it's about 12+.
Going to be a long one!

Thank you Babydreaming!

Hana327 · 14/01/2018 23:04

@amzq87 and @E2017 make that three of us on the same day for scans!
12 weeks can't come soon enough and hopefully by then this HG sickness will have relaxed 🤞🏻

@E2017 how has your sickness been? Sort haven't had chance to catch up with the reading on here!

kathrynalicem · 16/01/2018 12:45

Thanks for all the support guys.. been quiet for a few days sorting out bits and finding somewhere new for me and baby to live.
Been to see the midwife today which was great
Looking forward to a fresh start in my own with my perfect little bean 💕
Xo

TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/01/2018 15:51

Huge hugs @kathrynalicem that sounds really positive x

misshannah · 17/01/2018 15:52

Last week I really struggled with fatigue, this week im struggling with food and nausea. I can't stand the thought of eating anything remotely squidgy or healthy. Literally beige, beige and beige. I'm much worse with food/ nausea from 3pm onwards most days but haven't been able to face much today other than salted crisps. Any ideas to help or satisfy my empty stomach?

E2017 · 18/01/2018 21:24

@misshannah midwife told me to try milkshakes or ice lollies.

On another note 12hour shifts are an absolute killer. Can't stop throwing up and desperately want to go to sleep. 😳
