Sorry to hear that @peterpanwendy, mine seems to be getting worse and it's getting quite painful so full sympathies from me. No idea what works to ease it though!!! TMI keep getting really bad wind at Night, DH says it's like something has crawled up me and died ShockBlush and it hurts!!!

E2017 · 31/12/2017 10:03

@spydie and @peterpanwendy are you having normal sized meals or smaller meals more times a day. I've found going to smaller meals really helps. Hard as it seems to be a lot of the time. X

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 31/12/2017 10:12

Terrible bloating here too. I go back to work on 8th Jan (teacher) and I’m thinking there is no way of keeping this pregnancy a secret for long Blush

butterfly86 · 31/12/2017 10:28

Tentatively joining the new thread...had a little bit more spotting last night and this morning so not getting my hopes up I was hoping the pessaries would do the trick like last time, they were like my security blanket but they don't seem to be helping. Only have to wait until Wednesday for another scan but I have a bad feeling about this one.

Herecomesanotheron2018 · 31/12/2017 10:31

Smashy sorry to hear you have M.E too.

Both me and my dh have it, along with a 2 year old who is the complete opposite end of the spectrum and doesn't sleep and has unlimited energy! My dh is like yours and does at least 50% of the parenting but as he is trying to do more with her at the moment, he's exhausted and I'm exhausted from the pregnancy so I'm slightly panicking about how we are going to cope! I'm sure it'll all be fine though... 🤞

It is so tough at times though, being pregnant and having M.E, so it'll be nice to have someone else to talk to :)

Herecomesanotheron2018 · 31/12/2017 10:34

And re the bloating - I was awake at 1.30am this morning as I was so uncomfortable with the bloating. It's really bad, I didn't have it like this the first time around. I look absolutely huge too, and all my clothes feel too tight as soon as I eat!

milney25 · 31/12/2017 11:02

My lower abdomen feels much harder and it feels like I've been doing sit ups! I presume that's bloating and constipation!?

@butterfly86 sorry to hear you are still spotting. Mine has been coming and going to, and was really until about 7.5 weeks. Even with cyclogest I'm still getting a touch of spotting in the mornings.

SmashyCup · 31/12/2017 11:04

@Herecomesanotheron2018 it must be really hard with both you and your DH being ill. It really is a double whammy with the pregnancy symptoms but hopefully we'll both be past the worst phase soon! Did you feel a bit better in the second trimester last time?

amzq87 · 31/12/2017 11:14

Everything crossed @butterfly86 xx

SmashyCup · 31/12/2017 11:48

@butterfly86 I hope everything is ok.

butterfly86 · 31/12/2017 11:59

@milney25 is your spotting brown or red what dose of cyclogest are you on?

LadesC · 31/12/2017 12:14

Oh god all day horrendous nausea...help meeeeeeeee.

milney25 · 31/12/2017 12:18

@butterfly86 mostly brown, a little pink. But no fresh, red blood. I'm on 2 x 200 a day, morning and night.

butterfly86 · 31/12/2017 12:30

@milney25 same here just brown odd pink tinge I'm only on 200mg once a day I feel like I might need more although it was enough with my last pregnancy. Still don't have good odds though this is my 6th pregnancy with only 1 full term.

Buk88 · 31/12/2017 12:31

Hello ladies,

I’ve been thinking of joining in for a little while now 😊 I’m 9+4 with my first- due 1st August. Morning sickness is absolutely horrendous and I’m taking cyclizine which helps but it’s still pretty grim- roll on the second trimester!

Hope you’re all hanging in there- this time tomorrow we’ll be able to say we’re having babies this year!!! 😊

Hortonlovesahoo · 31/12/2017 12:37

@Buk88 - Welcome to the thread! I never looked at it like that but you're right! :D

@LadesC - I'm with you there :(

I'm in full nausea mode. I've tried everything that helped in my last pregnancy (mainly exercise/running) but it's not helping and I've found that it's making it worse :/

Herecomesanotheron2018 · 31/12/2017 12:48

smashy I felt terrible in the second trimester. I had to stop working at 17 weeks. Finally got to the bottom of it though when I was about 25 weeks, I had really, really low ferritin which explained it really. The third trimester was easier then until the last 2 or 3 weeks. So I'm hoping that as long as my ferritin doesn't drop this time that I'll start to feel better soon :)

Herecomesanotheron2018 · 31/12/2017 12:51

I'm another one suffering with nausea too. It's all day and it's horrible! I've just got an ice cold water out of the freezer as I can only stand to drink things that are ice cold for some reason.

I assume those of you struggling have tried all the obvious things such as ginger? (Can't stand the stuff myself!). Keep trying to drink lots though to stop yourself from getting dehydrated. Fingers crossed it passes for you all soon

LadesC · 31/12/2017 12:55

Do gps give meds for nausea if u arent being sick? Not sure how ill.cope being at work

Buk88 · 31/12/2017 13:33

@LadesC- I think so. They might offer antacids at first to see if they work for you but if you’re suffering I’m sure they’ll give you something.

SmashyCup · 31/12/2017 13:45

Uugh the nausea is horrendous. I have spent the last few days under a blanket, barely able to move. At my booking appointment the midwife just shrugged, I didn't know you could get medication to help!

Last time I had to work from home for 3 weeks and nobody suggested anything except ginger tea which I can't stomach anymore. I think I'll have to go to the GP Tuesday and get something otherwise there's no way I'll be able to work next week.

BertieBotts · 31/12/2017 13:50

My nausea has definitely got stronger since 6 weeks but it comes and goes so it's okay. But I can't poo Blush and I'm sure that would help, also with general sluggish feeling.

Milney, if you're 8 weeks it could be the top of your uterus.

SpriteGirl · 31/12/2017 14:51

Did everyone else know you get to choose the hospital you give birth in? All the information I’ve had has just given me the one hospital (i.e. no option other than birthing suit or hospital). We were talking to a friend today (he’s also a neighbour and has two young children) and he said we absolutely do have a choice but we may need to justify it. I’ve just pulled out my booking appointment notes and the hospital is written in there but I wasn’t asked. Am going to call and tell them I want another hospital. Bit stressed about it, am used to fighting my corner but this is my baby and I just want to feel looked after. Instead I feel deceived. Anyone got any thoughts/knowledge?

milney25 · 31/12/2017 14:54

Thanks Bertie! I'm just over 9, so maybe that's it!

StrawberryLemonade · 31/12/2017 15:09

SpriteGirl you can book to deliver wherever you want. I didn’t book at my local hospital last time as it had a bad reputation but the midwife wasn’t at all bothered where I chose. It was just more complicated getting bloods arranged in a different area etc. This time we’ve moved closer to the hospital I delivered at last time so I’ll be booked there although when the midwife phoned me for the booking appointment she did ask where I wanted to deliver.
