@Hettyturnip paracetamol is fine

@Babydreaming I can semi-understand. I'll have 2 under 2 if this pregnancy goes to plan. I also changed career 2 years ago and had only been working in that career for 1 year when I got pregnant with my DS. I was only working for my current employer for 1.5mths before getting pregnant. I worked for 8mths for them and will now 🤞🏻be doing back to back mat leave so feel awful to be doing that to my employer. I also don't know what effect it will have on my qualification as we are meant to do CPD and thats not realistic on mat leave. I'm still coming to terms with the life change of having DS and feel like I've lost who I am as I never do anything for myself/have me time. That said, if I could think of anything I wanted to do DH would happily look after DS, I just have no idea what I would do that would be enjoyable.

milney25 · 30/12/2017 11:53

Anyone else feeling a bit crampy on the lower right side? I'm not sure if I'd call it pain, more discomfort!

LadesC · 30/12/2017 11:57

Babydreaming i think i feel a bit overwhelmed cos ive been really ill for last week so OH has had to care for toddler and shes run him ragged and house is a tip! Hopefully when im well again ill feel more able to cope!

amzq87 · 30/12/2017 12:07

Hi @milney25 - I went to get checked out because I was get a very specific pain on the right side, kind of like a stabbing pain - not awful but enough for me to notice when I was around 6 weeks gone. Just off right from centre. They weren't worried and said it was normal, possibly implantation pain. I had no bleeding.

If you're worried, I rang 111 and asked advice and they got me seen within an hour. Lady gave me a full exam (no scan) but really put my mind at ease - probably me worrying as a first timer but it helped.

Hope you're OK! X

Babydreaming · 30/12/2017 12:15

@hettyturnip thanks. I’ve already been getting super early nights! My little one goes to bed at 7pm so after that I’ve been doing an hours revision/clearing up and then trying to go to bed! My husband is great but when my baby is sick he just wants me, it’s much easier for me to settle him in the night. Last night he woke at 11pm, 3.30am and then had a coughing fit at 4.45am that led to a vomit so I had to change the sheets and then he was coughing on and off til 7 so I didn’t really get back to sleep! He was previously sleeping through so it’s just bad timing for a horrible cold!

We’ve spent today putting stuff in boxes whilst the little one pulls everything out of the boxes! Haha!

Hi all I'm due estimated 14th August atm, but tbc when have scan. Have felt nauseous with heart burn but not actually been sick x

Sugarskulllover · 30/12/2017 13:33

Just had my dating scan through the post!
25th Jan I'll be 12+2 then.

I also have an appointment to see a consultant on 26th.

It's all becoming real now.

Whichoneisit · 30/12/2017 13:36

Hi all,
Good news from the scan. 7+1 which is exactly what we thought. They sent us some videos and gave us a little picture.
Mentioned to the Consultant that I felt well and he said it can vary pregnancy to pregnancy. I’ve had days when I haven’t felt pregnant at all and I’ve had plenty of backache and lower cramping.

Sugarskulllover · 30/12/2017 13:54

So glad it went well @Whichoneisit

amzq87 · 30/12/2017 15:17

Welcome @ladybirdno1 - congratulations!!

Glad your scan went well @Whichoneisit :-)

Hortonlovesahoo · 30/12/2017 15:49

@whichoneisit: great news about the scan and confirmation.

I’m still in constipated purgatory and really struggling with breathing at the moment. I suspect my iron is a little low which doesn’t help!

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 30/12/2017 15:53

I’ve had similar feelings @babydreaming My DS will be around 22 months when this one is born and I’m so worried about coping with 2 under 2. I had SPD with DS too and was on crutches and signed off work from 35 weeks so I’m also worrying about that. I think subsequent pregnancies are always different. You have to be pregnant and looking after other children and you’re also very aware of what the early newborn days are like (no offence to any FTM.)

At the moment burying my head in the sand and muttering “it’ll be fine” is my tactic Grin

SmashyCup · 30/12/2017 16:31

@Babydreaming I'm also in a similar boat. DS is 10 months old and I've only been back at work for a few months so feel bad for another mat leave so soon.

I have ME so am shattered at the best of times with work and DS. Pregnancy nausea and exhaustion has kicked in properly the last few days and I can barely move, very worried how I'll handle work and commuting again next week! I am very lucky that my DH does an equal share of parenting, and more than half recently since I've been feeling so unwell. DS is teething like a maniac and has a cold so has been up multiple times per night the last few days but DH has done all of that so I can rest, but still feel completely wiped out.

Last time I felt much better by 16 weeks so hoping I can push through until then. It will be crazy having 2 under 2 but much nicer than being pregnant!! Cannot wait for August. And I think it's lovely to have children close in age so they'll be very close growing up. Smile

gkeen369 · 30/12/2017 16:39

@smashycup
Wow I can't even begin to imagine how you're coping. My DH has ME and and I watch him struggle everyday and take loads of supplements to get keep him going. Add pregnancy into the mix and it's a perfect storm!!

spydie · 30/12/2017 17:46

@babydreaming I had those feelings when pregnant with DD. We were going through a house move too at the time and it was so overwhelming. Hopefully once the move is done it will be a weight off of your mind.

Who was it suffering with bloating?? I'm so bloated now, I don't think the constipation is helping either. I feel like a puffed up fat whale!! Trying to drink loads of water but bleurgh Sad

Is anyone else feeling really grumpy? I feel sooo irritable and my MIL is driving me bonkers. I know I'm being a complete bitch getting annoyed with her (I'm trying desperately not to let it show) as she's very nice and well meaning although generally high maintenance, and I suddenly have zero patience. Confused

Crissy83 · 30/12/2017 17:55

Haha! I'm the same - super short fuse out of nowhere. One minute I'm smiling and happily chatting and the next something will provoke rage over nothing! Confused I've bought a book today (thought I'd go old school Wink) which assures me this is all normal.

spydie · 30/12/2017 18:01

@Crissy83 oh good, glad its not just me!! Although sorry you are having to contend with irrational rage too Wink

SmashyCup · 30/12/2017 18:09

@gkeen369 It defimitely doesn't mix well with pregnancy! Sorry to hear about your DH. It is such a tough illness. Sad

BertieBotts · 30/12/2017 18:38

Yes! I am getting really irritated with my DS Blush

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 30/12/2017 18:55

My DH is walking on eggshells at the moment......and I may have just shouted at the cat to STFU! Blush

somersetsinger · 30/12/2017 19:31

I got my scan date through today and it's on 20th January. I will be 12 weeks exactly so the wait is as short as it could possibly be.

To those with small age gaps, I've found DD has become much easier to look after since 18 months. She wants to be independent where possible, can play by herself for a bit and is easily distracted when necessary. This might not last or be applicable to all, but could make your third trimesters and post natal periods a bit easier.

E2017 · 30/12/2017 19:34

I'm a grouchy bloated vomit monster whale too. Poor husband is doing pretty much everything bless him. X

SmashyCup · 30/12/2017 20:44

That's good to hear @somersetsinger . My DS is quite happy to play on his own a fair bit already, I just feel bad that I've spent hardly any time with him during my week off because I've been feeling like death, and it made me think about how I don't want him to feel sidelined when the new baby arrives. It must be really hard to feel like you're giving enough individual attention when you have two young children, or more!

YouCantBeSirius · 30/12/2017 21:01

My skin is terrible. I usually have quite clear skin but today I've got at least 10 spots. And a huge dry patch on my chin.

peterpanwendy · 30/12/2017 22:43

@spydie I have suffered really badly with painful bloating, last night I was so very uncomfortable.
As soon as I eat I get bloated and my jeans are so tight! :(
