September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Sals27 · 13/01/2018 10:55

Hmmm you've all made me rethink about the flu jab. I'd been in the definitely not camp as I don't want to risk it making me unwell. But flu will make me more unwell so that was stupid. I'll book it next week.

Congrats on the 3+ @muffyduffster. Do you think the inlaws will be pleased? I want to tell EVERYONE already but we're holding off for the time being, only my sister knows atm!

MonaTheMoaner · 13/01/2018 10:58

Oh I love that 3+ muffyduffster. Congratulations! What do you think the in laws will say?

MonaTheMoaner · 13/01/2018 10:59

Yes Sals27! I’m not a healthcare worker but I know it’s important and hearing stories from healthcare professionals about how overrun the hospitals are at the moment with the flu we should be doing all we can to protect ourselves.

UppityStitch · 13/01/2018 11:10

@MonaTheMoaner it was both to be honest. At first I researched paracetamol and it said to avoid or take the smallest dose possible. I took none For 2 days and was a wreck last night. After I had a temp of over 38 yesterday, I read that a fever can cause miscarriage or defects. I need to stay off Dr Google!

Since then I've been taking paracetamol and I've now been able to eat

kirinm · 13/01/2018 11:35

I managed to get 9 hours of sleep last night but am now shattered again. Whhhhy?

MonaTheMoaner · 13/01/2018 12:16

UppityStitch all healthcare professionals have told me that the usual dose of paracetamol is fine when needed (up to 8 pills a day spaced out). Where did you find the link to miscarriage and was it backed up?

kirinm the exhaustion is so debilitating. Do you have any ideas of how to keep our energy up without a lot of caffeine?

iamloading · 13/01/2018 12:21

With my first pregnancy I ended up hospitalised due to a burst cyst at 5 weeks and they gave me an IV of paracetamol and it was fine if that reassures you at all

muffyduffster · 13/01/2018 12:42

In-laws will be made up Smile DD goes to them two days a week and MIL adores children!

CuppaSarah · 13/01/2018 12:42

Ugh I have spent all morning altering my.bridesmaid dress so.It'll hide my 14 week bloat bump. Had to tske the zip off. Remove the entire waistband and shorten the bodice, restructure the bodice and left room to add two darts on the puffy skirt so I have the illusion of a waist. No one will guess.I'm hiding the youngest wedding guest in there. It has gone from this none fitting tent...

CuppaSarah · 13/01/2018 12:43

To this, which fits and the empire waist will hide any belly.

Oops I can't even type anymore. Ignore all the typos.

MonaTheMoaner · 13/01/2018 12:55

CuppaSarah Love what you’ve done! The style is lovely and very flattering. Agree that nobody will be able to tell.

UppityStitch · 13/01/2018 13:04

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. I'll be on paracetamol until its gone. God knows where I read it but it put me off taking anything at all. Compared to yesterday I've managed to get up, put on some washing and the dishwasher so that's something at least

LostMyBaubles · 13/01/2018 13:13

Paracetamol is safe to use during pregnancy (2 upto 4x a day spaced out)

I have the flu jab due to my kidney problems and like everyone else no side effects just a sore arm while it's being done. That's it.

Defo worth getting the jab

Love what you've done with the dress!

Nausea has been very bad today

Made something a little spicy but made it overly spicy!!

LostMyBaubles · 13/01/2018 13:14

Who was asking about scans? Sorry can't remember

My next scan is 26th
Will be 7+2 hopefully

Fia256 · 13/01/2018 14:03

Just caught up,

@MonaTheMoaner I have my scan on Friday, 6 more days of anxiously waiting!Smile

LostMyBaubles · 13/01/2018 14:10

Fia fx it's more reassuring than the ones we've all had!

My first midwife appt at the hosp is on the 31st eeek. Not too far away!
So scan the Friday before then see them on the following Wednesday fx!

UppityStitch · 13/01/2018 14:11

Ive been taking them every 4 hours, they normally wear off well before then.

I can't wait for my early scan. Had one last time round around 7 weeks. I also need a very urgent Doctors appointment as all my usual meds have to change. I'll be on aspirin for tomorrow by order of my consultant as I normally take blood thinners.

Twinkletoes2018 · 13/01/2018 14:33

I have a terrible sore throat and mouth ulcers I rang the midwife to ask if I could take paracetamol and she said only if absolutely necessary so I've tried to struggle on. I took paracetamol in my last pregnancy but think I didn't have any need to take it in the first trimester so I wasn't sure. I'm going to see how I feel later I've been sucking on ice cubes for the ulcers all morning

Twinkletoes2018 · 13/01/2018 14:34

Think I might take some tonight

Namechangedtoscream · 13/01/2018 14:50

Sickness is back with avengence today. Literally everything I've put in my mouth food or fluid has come back up again. Woohoo! Sickness!!

Kingy2910 · 24/01/2018 21:18

Hi ladies....could I please join you're thread. I'm 8+4 with 2nd child. My Dd is 2.4. I'm looking for advice on a slight bleed I had yesterday. Have been to docs as haven't had booking appointment yet (have that on Tuesday) but have got appointment on Friday morning at EPU. I have never heard of this unit nor did I have any bleeding with first pregnancy. I'm just wondering what to expect. Any info much appreciated xxx
