September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Hi mind if I join the party!

Got my bfp today and I can’t quite believe it! We lost a baby at 20w in June, then an early miscarriage in sept, so right now I don’t quite believe what I’m seeing and certain I must have bought a dodgy batch lol!

I’d got myself so caught up in it all the last few months. Then my phone broke last month and I decided to take that as a detox from ttc. So I kept off mumsnet, didn’t take temp or use any ovulation tests etc! And it seems to have worked! Only 8dpo today. Bfn this morning then a clear bfp this afternoon with diluted urine! Hoping I get to stick around this time!

Congratulations Fia256! I’m so sorry for your past losses. Praying for a sticky baby for us all this time around Flowers

CuppaSarah · 27/12/2017 19:42

Congratulations everyone who has appeared! I know it's early but if anyone wants I can set up a secret Facebook group? They're invisible to anyone who isn't invited and you can only join via email invite. I have lots of cramps today and af is due tomorrow or Friday, starting to wish I'd not tested early.

We've decided to keep our pregnancy secret for as physically long as we can. My mum was a nightmare about wanting to go to scans while I was pregnant with my first two.

MonaTheMoaner · 27/12/2017 19:51

Yes please!

MonaTheMoaner · 27/12/2017 19:52

CuppaSarah I’m in the same boat. AF due today or tomorrow and I’m checking every time I wipe due to cramps but I took a test this morning with non FMU and there was a strong dark line which has helped ease my mind a bit.

CuppaSarah · 27/12/2017 20:04

Mona mine was only faint today, but it is a poundland test and was a midday wee. It's already as dark as my darkest test with my loss a few cycles ago so I hope it's a good sign.

We ran out of loo roll and the patterned emergency kitchen roll has red pictures, gives me a heart attack every wipe. Blush

Namechangedtoscream · 27/12/2017 20:05

I would rather not join a secret fb group if it's ok.

Congratulations to all new joiners!

Hi! I got my bfp today. Feeling very crampy though so worried it won't stick. This is pregnancy 6 for me but if it succeeds will be my second child. I have a history of recurrent miscarriage so I'm going to try and get in touch with my clinic to see if they'll suggest any treatment.

Symptoms wise, I've had a really low level nausea since about 6dpo and some aches / cramps. I don't think I developed morning sickness until week 5 or 6 last time.

Namechangedtoscream · 27/12/2017 20:29

@kirinm sounds like you're in a similar situation to me - I've got one living child and had 5 miscarriages trying for number 2. Let's hope this is it for both of us!

Fia256 · 27/12/2017 20:43

Kirinm me too! I actually have a scan booked under the recurrent miscarriage clinic this Friday! Not sure if I’ll be allowed to go!

kirinm · 27/12/2017 20:44

@Namechangedtoscream Ah, sorry to hear that. I'm trying to think positively and keep the anxiety levels to a minimum (which is only possible because I've only known for a few hours)!

kirinm · 27/12/2017 20:50

@Fia256 Did the RMC suggest you take anything like progesterone or steroids? Mine did but I haven't been there for years so don't know how to get in touch with them. My GP is awful. I think I'll just call the clinic and ask to be seen.

Jfw82 · 27/12/2017 20:56

not quite ready for a secret Facebook group yet maybe further along and i will be seems so early for now ...

My consultant doesn't advise using progesterone or aspirin as current research doesn't advocate it's use. I used it with my last pregnancy and all it did was delay the inevitable (baby had t22)

kirinm · 27/12/2017 21:02

Oh that's interesting. Are they suggesting anything at all? I've not been seen for a few years (I chose not to ttc) so am not at all up to date with current research. So sorry for your losses @Namechangedtoscream

Fia256 · 27/12/2017 21:03

I didn’t actually end up getting that far! Was supposed to go for all the blood tests at the start of this cycle, then realised I’d forgot to bloody fast each morning!! So was going to go once AF arrived start of jan so nothing has come of it now! Scan was booked for Friday, I’m very tempted to keep quiet and go just for the fun of it but then I’ll be disappointed when they they don’t happen to spot the start of a pregnancy even though I know they can’t!

Fia256 · 27/12/2017 21:05

Namechanged I think we are also in a similar situation! I have two dc, and then since then I have had 4 miscarriages in a row!

Namechangedtoscream · 27/12/2017 21:13

Yes the only thing they are recommending is fortnightly scans from 6 weeks so I've already made contact with them

Namechangedtoscream · 27/12/2017 21:13

So sorry for everyone's losses

charlie1234567 · 27/12/2017 22:35

Hi! Can I join

Still in shock as I got my BFP this afternoon!

Any quite believe it x

dingdongdigeridoo · 27/12/2017 22:43

Marking my place! Recognise a few usernames from the conception board. Got my BFP on xmas day and still can’t quite believe it. Think I’m due 5/6th but getting different dates on different calculators.

I’m already getting low level morning and evening sickness. So much earlier than my first pregnancy.

MonaTheMoaner · 27/12/2017 23:12

Congratulations charlie and dingdong Flowers

New symptom: my quite sensitive boobs are also now super veiny. Very attractive.

charlie1234567 · 27/12/2017 23:49

Oh great @MonaTheMoaner something to look forward too! Wink

Fia256 · 28/12/2017 09:16

How is everyone feeling so far? I just have a big breakout on my face like I always get when preg! Other than that, absolutely nothing! I remember last time though that absolutely nothing hit till 7 weeks. Then I couldn’t keep anything down, boobs were sore etc etc

Namechangedtoscream · 28/12/2017 09:44

Morning all hope everyone is keeping well. I need to step away from the tests! Because of my history i have loads of internet cheapy test strips and I'm finding myself doing them daily to check they're getting darker. Today's is almost the same as yesterdays and now I'm worried so I'm throwing the rest of the tests out!!
