September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

My first scan with ds1 was exactly the same. I was sure I was 6 weeks but scan only showed I was 5. 2 weeks later and scanned again and I was back measuring properly at 8 weeks with a heartbeat. There are lots of positives stories with situations like these x

MonaTheMoaner · 12/01/2018 13:26

According to my doctor it’s normal not to see a heartbeat this early but it’s awfully scary and worrying when you’re in limbo.

CuppaSarah · 12/01/2018 13:32

Mona sorry it wasn't as reassuring as hoped, but that tiny flicker sounds positive.

Lost my body used to do that all the time when I was irregular, often I'd get a nearly positive opk, then they'd fade, till a week later I would finally ovulate. Sounds like the same happened here.

I'm hoping for lots of positive scans in the next few weeks.

LostMyBaubles · 12/01/2018 14:13

Thank you very much for the reassurance
Does seem like that's what has happened.

They saw lots of bowel gas stuck ehich could be why I'm getting pain

😶

iamloading · 12/01/2018 14:53

I think that's the danger with early scans as everything is so small. Mine is in an hour and I'm honestly expecting just to see an empty womb 😬 Daren't get my hopes up after losing my daughter

LostMyBaubles · 12/01/2018 14:54

Good luck Iamloading 💗

lookingforaline18 · 12/01/2018 14:58

Hello everyone. I'm cautiously happy to be joining you guys. I got a BFP today so it means I will due in September. I'm trying not to get over excited just in case things go wrong.

Fia256 · 12/01/2018 15:04

Welcome all new comers and congratulations Thanks

Sorry to all that have had frustrating scan results today, will keep my fingers crossed for you all that all is a bit clearer on return scans! It'll be my turn next Friday, I'll be 6+5 and fully expecting to leave with the same uncertainty with it being so early on!

Isadora2007 · 12/01/2018 15:40

For those using CB digitals. The result is weeks from conception, not weeks of pregnancy. So will be around 2 weeks less than “expected”.
Hopefully that reassures some people.
My first Grandbaby (!) is due in September so I am reading with interest to reassure DD (17) all her worries and twinges are normal.

September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP
iamloading · 12/01/2018 16:25

We have a heartbeat. Can't quite believe it! They put me at 6+1 which is a week behind where I thought judging by my period but might just be because it is so small

MonaTheMoaner · 12/01/2018 16:30

Perfect Iamloading. Amazing news! Seeing that little flicker is incredible!!

My little flicker of a heartbeat has reassured me no end although our baby is so small at 1.8-2mm. Might be a couple of days behind on dates, might be the machine but the doctor said she wasn’t concerned and that she’d book me in for a repeat in 10 days anyway.

I still feel like I can’t get excited yet and these next ten days will go very slowly but I’m trying to be optimistic.

MonaTheMoaner · 12/01/2018 16:58

Okay, apparently DH remembers more than I do while I was crying. Baby is measuring 2.3mm which apparently puts me about five and a half weeks according to the lady who did the scan but I have a tilted uterus so even with a vaginal scan it was hard to see and she said measurements can vary so much in these cases but the doctor said there was definitely a heartbeat. No idea how fast as they didn’t tell me. Should I be reassured? I feel so stupid and I don’t know what I expected.

iamloading · 12/01/2018 17:12

Yes I think you should be Mona. I have a tilted uterus and was told the same last time. Today was a private scan so no internal part which was even worse quality! I think the main thing is to see a heartbeat if you are over 6/7 weeks - the fact you have seen it so early is a great sign

Namechangedtoscream · 12/01/2018 17:20

I too am back at 9am on the 22nd @monathemoaner! Sorry to hear yours was the same as mine it's frustrating isn't it.

Secondsop · 12/01/2018 17:56

Welcome newbies. Great news @iamloading!

Went to the GP this morning and she was great. I booked into EPU for Monday because of the twingey pains I keep getting on one side.

Paranormalbouquet · 12/01/2018 18:19

I’m sorry the scans weren’t entirely reassuring, but obviously at such an early stage that’s not unusual. Mona I always measured a few days behind with DD and I was sure of my dates (DH had been away so it could only have happened one day!). She’s now almost 4 and still tiny! 12.5kg and mostly in 2-3 clothes (some 18-24!).

MonaTheMoaner · 12/01/2018 18:31

Namechangedtoscream so frustrating. We’re all so ready to get excited but there’s still so much uncertainty. I’m going to try to stay positive until the next scan and repeat positive affirmations to myself to make these next ten days go smoother.

Paranormalbouquet I’m hoping this is the case. Both of mine measured straight on in the early stages (but then I didn’t have scans until 10 weeks) but we’re big babies (DD1 9lb7.5oz at 39 weeks and DD2 8lb12oz at 38 weeks).

HannahJH · 12/01/2018 18:36

Hi everyone,

I’ve just got a proper BFP this morning and feeling very nervous after a chemical in Sept and a MC before DD1. I’d guess I’m due mid sept but don’t want to work any dates out yet as it makes it too real.

Sorry early scans areant showing what you hoped. DD was a week behind at about 6 weeks but then came exactly 40 weeks from the date I personally think she was conceived so and by 12 weeks she was only a day or two behind my prediction.

Anyone else got a phobia of sick? I’m scared if I feel sick and scared if I don’t :( xx

Paranormalbouquet · 12/01/2018 18:52

Namechanged and Mona hopefully the scans in 10 days will be more enlightening. Iamloading congrats on heartbeat, I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter. I can’t imagine how tough that was.

I’m falling asleep on the bus so I’m sorry if I’ve missed anyone. Had nausea again today, on and off all day. Settled around an hour ago and I’m now ravenous.

Twinkletoes2018 · 12/01/2018 19:03

Has anyone else had mouth ulcers in early pregnancy I feel terrible I think I had this last time now I think about it?

MonaTheMoaner · 12/01/2018 19:04

I had them with my last pregnancy but not so early, more second and third trimester. Salt packs are painful but do get rid of them faster. I’m unsure what else is safe to use in pregnancy.

Congratulations on your BFP!

Namechangedtoscream · 12/01/2018 19:12

Thank you for all your support. I'm praying the next 10 days to fly by

Anbesol is good for mouth ulcers. It's lidocane

LostMyBaubles · 12/01/2018 19:15

Twinkle I had them before I had bfp
It was very painful

What can I do to get rid of headaches

Drinking enough
Was so bad had to take some paracetamol, went to bed with head under duvet.
Still bloody hurts
Bp was 136/71 and then 117/70 today

LostMyBaubles · 12/01/2018 19:16

Namechangr the waiting is horrible again isn't it.
Have a full 2 weeks to wait for the next scan 😳
Praying we all get food scans

kirinm · 12/01/2018 19:26

Is everyone taking vitamin D? If so, where did you get it? I was looking at one but it was over the amount you're supposed to need for pregnancy. Does that matter?
