Good point Sputnik - I bf until 9 months but pretty much after i started weaning at 4 months didn't leak TG!

Seansgirl · 25/04/2007 15:09

And like Delor says not everyone can express - I certianly couldn't.

sputnik · 25/04/2007 15:15

I had problems expressing too. Wasn't a question of supply as DD was/is a porker! Just couldn't get the hang of it.

Want to try again though as I got stuck with DD refusing all bottles so limited what I could do for 6 months. This time I'd quite like to go to the hairdresser, for eg

derlor · 25/04/2007 15:15

oh i could express enough to feed a small country but leaked a lot too - soggy bed in the morning yeugh - it's all coming back now!!!

derlor · 25/04/2007 15:17

important tip for 1st timers - buy/wear BLACK tops if you breastfeeding - soggy/see through tops are NOT a good look in the supermarket.

SmilingKiwi · 25/04/2007 15:24

I knew you'd all know those answers...I had thought of buying an electric breast pump as I dont fancy the manual one (RSI in the wrist) but now you've made me think I should wait till I get that to see if I can express first? Must buy black tops! Must buy black tops! Thanks for all the advice! xx

sputnik · 25/04/2007 15:30

Bet you see lots of that in your line of work Derlor
While we're on the subject, I ditched my maternity bras after a week too, felt weird with nipples sticking out of the holes like that. Just wore a normal bra and pushed it up.

derlor · 25/04/2007 15:38

oh no general consensus (?sp) is to get the medula electric breast pump but definately wait and see of you feeding first as they cost about £45. you are right about manual pumps i had one 1st time round and it was a total pain in the wrist!!! much better last time with my medula - felt like a cow though but hey ho
i tried the normal bra pushed up thing last time but not for me too squashy i need one that flaps!!!

BadZelda · 25/04/2007 15:39

Eh? Haven't heard of feeding bras with holes in them. I've probably made a horrible mistake and will suffer for months - but I've mostly been wearing underwires during this pregnancy: I just can't stand maternity bras that offer no support whatsoever and are really uncomfortable. Still got feeding bras from last time - but I think I'm a completely different size now, so will probably have to get new ones...oh the joy.

derlor · 25/04/2007 15:43

Bag update £52
and of Holly is who i think she is on ebay then hers are going 4 hours before mine for £78, £74 and £74!!!!!!!!!!

riabutterflew · 25/04/2007 15:45

I used tescos breastpads, but also have some I made from layers of terry nappy that I can wash. (Looks a bit like you have a biscuit in your bra through your top though). Will stay in denial about bras as long as I can.

Have just got back from check up. BP back to normal but I am in shock as MW said the head is down (of course I made a tit of myself asking if it would stay like that now and she said "it needs to be that way round to come out"). I am only at 32 weeks and I thought it was way too early for that kind of development. Am now in a bigger panic than I was!!! FK

derlor · 25/04/2007 15:46

BZ i've been wearing underwires throughout pg too - have gone up in size by 2 cups but still finding underwires comfy. i just meant bf bras that flap down for feeding not with actual holes in them IYSWIM??!!
(i'm not getting my bras from Ann Summers or anything )

annobal · 25/04/2007 15:47

Hi everyone, welcome back Kiwi - glad you had a great time. Have been at the gym all day (gassing, not excersising .

Well done on the bags - I completely forgot until about 7.55 and by then it was too late!

Just a warning on feeding bras - my bra size changed completely both times when I gave birth - I went up 2 cup sizes and down a back size.

Am loving the photos - it's great to put a face to a name (nickname). You have gorgeous kids and all look so glam.

derlor · 25/04/2007 15:50

Ria baby can still change position at 32 weeks your midwife is clearly just being cheeky
I am 34+ weeks and my baby is still summersaulting in between practicing star jumps whenever i try to sleep!!!

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 16:00

Fucking shitty wanky ebay have removed my listing due to copyright infringement! I used a pic from a website and obv the website have complained and ebay have removed loads of them. Derlor they'll prob remove yours in a min coz you've used the same pic as me! I'm putting them back on now, but they were finishing this evening and there's loads on now so they won't go for as much! I'm really pissed off!!!

Seansgirl, I imagined you as brunette! Love your curly hair and your pretty pink dress!!

What a pain, Holly. Why don't you do a quick auction? Or are they all finishing then?

Daisybump · 25/04/2007 16:17

Phew...what a catch up....didn't go for a bag this morning as bed seemed much more preferable, and DH wouldn't let me anyway...had to beg him to let me go to M&S for some ready meals for the next few days and even then he made me sit down whilst he went through the checkouts.....still getting the odd painful contraction, but not regular at all. DH wanted me to phone the hospital again, but I don't want them to take me in...DH has to work overnight tonight and won't be back till late Friday and I've no-one to look after DS....HV coming tomorrow, so I'll aske her advice, or call my community MW if things haven't settled by tomorrow.

Gosh you lot had a right natter last night...been PMSL catching up with it all. Not looking forward to pooing now...I ended up with an emergency C-section so had no worries on that score as DS never got that far to do any damage....also had much less fallout than a VB...ooh, that elective C-section is looking more attractive by the minute

Think I'll pass on the sling....a friend has lent me a Tomy carrier and since I don't have hundreds of pounds in tote bag revenue winging my way....got to save the pennies. DH said he's not sure about having to pay import tax as it depends on the value of the item...he does a lot of buying and selling of cameras and stuff on ebay and has only had to pay import duty once...

Feeling very thirsty too...and only water seems to be able to quench it...but read that your blood volums can go through another increase around now so that might expalin it...that and the fact that I'm wee-ing for Scotland.

sorry for the long post.....gotta go as DH needs to get on for work

Seansgirl · 25/04/2007 16:19

Hey look at the message number - get thinking titles girls!!! I hav eto say that as I am pants at that kinda thing!

Daisybump · 25/04/2007 16:21

about the bags Holly.....i though it was OK to use pics from an external source?

Daisybump · 25/04/2007 16:31

Holly...would it be wise to wait a bit before trying to re-sell your bags.....that way if there are less about you might get more money....i just did a search and there are now almost 1000 listings for Anya Hindmarch bags....

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 16:31

Bunch of twunts! There's nothing I can do about it and I can't get the listing position back. I wanted them to end tonight, but instead I've relisted them and they end tomorrow. By far a crappier time! I'm really cross!

Daisybump · 25/04/2007 16:33

Thought we were going for the tumble drier fluff option.....we should get it sorted before running out so we can put on a link to the new thread cos I'm a bit slow on the uptake and have usu done a long post (me..no, really) and it gets bounced because the thread is full and I haven't realised.....

hollyandalice · 25/04/2007 16:34

I don't know whether to wait or not. I don't want to wait and for them to be selling for £10 in a few days, but there seem to be loads on there atm! Ebay have totally scuppered my cunning plans!

OP posts:
annobal · 25/04/2007 16:36

Can you put half on now and half in a week or sos time?

Daisybump · 25/04/2007 16:44

Holly....two weeks ago the bags were selling for around £50 and are still getting good prices...so if you were to wait then chances are you would still get a good price. Dh was reading that they are still much in demand in the states, but there are no more to be had there so if you were to do an international listing it might bump the value up???? Or acceot you may not get a silly price and put them on Buy it Now for £50......still a Huge mark-up
