i know it doesn't quite rhyme but it does nearly, and it's completely inoffensive to everyone but Eddas

Pesha - you are having a boy too? Think we'll have pretty similar then, as my dd will be 6 end of month, ds 3 and a half. Hoping dd will be a good help keeping an eye on the baby so I can leave the room without him having to take part in Power Rangers etc.

Pesha · 09/04/2007 15:46

LOl nellyhel. Yeah I am having a boy so does sound like we'll have similar families. Ds will be 4 in august so going to school in september, half of me is at thought of my little boy being so grown up but the other half of me is jumping up and down in excitement

I am hoping that with the other 2 at school ill have more one on one time with this baby so really hoping this will make him a little easier to manage than ds was

And dd is definitely the 'older child', loves being grown up and responsible and telling people what to do so should be a great help, do you think she's too young to learn how to change nappies?

nellyhel · 09/04/2007 15:57

pesha- I have tried to suggest to both of mine to do the dirty nappies, but both are refusing!! I mean how unreasonable

DD is very much the big sister too and will probably be bossing dh a lot of the time. My ds won't be at school but five mornings at nursery from August, so at least I'll have two and a half hours a day with no-one talking .

Pesha · 09/04/2007 16:09

ds has been 5 mornings at playschool since september, I honestly couldn't have coped without it! He really needs it though and its helped him so much. The talking is constant though isn't it, even when noones in the room he's still talking to himself and his cars!

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 16:09

sorry to disappoint you but i got a life for the day

no sign of baby here!

OP posts:
Pesha · 09/04/2007 16:13

Oh you'd got me all excited then Ellie! I thought seeing as you're so convinced its not going to come today chances are it will

A life Where'd you get that from then? Do they sell them on ebay?! I want one

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 16:15

sadly no, but it wasn't much of one, and it did involve a rather long drive to collect a puushchair i won on ebay

OP posts:
Pesha · 09/04/2007 16:16

I knew ebay would have something to do with it somehow

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 16:27

but of course

no way this baby is arriving any time soon.

went for petrol this morning, the lady at counter asked when i was due, told her and got a very look, she then laughed and said i'd best go before i had it there! reassured her it'll be at least thursday before he's ready to make an appearance

Well dd and ds have not long had a snack and a drink and are now happily playing out in the garden with the dog. Think i might just lie down on the sofa and try and have a little nap.

Whats the betting that soon as i doze off they have a huge fight and come storming in crying and telling tales!

And if i do get to sleep expct me back here in an hour or so complaining I feel sick!

Strange childrens voices are now coming from my garden Best go and investigate, bloody typical

Pesha · 09/04/2007 16:28

Ellie - are you trying to tempt fate and make it come soon?

nellyhel · 09/04/2007 16:29

Been browsing for pushchairs too. Thinking about silver cross S4, though not seen real life one yet, which I'd rather before ordering. Don't suppose anyone knows anything about these? Need something with good suspension but also to fit in my car boot which have realised most umbrella folds and big 3 wheelers won't fit into, hence picked this one. We do have a M&P pram to use at first and I can use DH car for a bit, but will need something else fairly soon.
It's not a big deal really but it is giving me something to do while sat on my behind and kids watch tv ... might be ebay browsing next though I suppose kids will expect fed at some point. More easter eggs maybe??

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 16:34

DON'T DO IT NELLY!!!!!!!!

go onto ebay and you won't escape without spending money, usuuaally i find it's not on the thing i went to look for!

Thanks clarice and pesha for the advice. I did post the question in the breast feeding section and have basically got the same replies that what is happening is normal. Just having someone tell me that makes me feel so much better!

Wanted to send good wishes to smole and her ds. Didnt realise he was poorly until skimming through the top half of this thread. Get well soon Jesse, thinking of smole and her dh.

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 16:37

are you getting my emails mammyjo?
not everyone has been and i sent out news of Smole so now wondering if you've been missed off?

OP posts:
Eddas · 09/04/2007 16:41

Just wanted to add my good wishes to Smole.

Missed the post before in my haste to post about my non-sweep!

Why do people think that you reach your due date and will suddenly give birth right in front of themI've had so many comments similar to Ellie's petrol station one. It's just annoying. I just give them my fake 'ha ha' smile.

mammyjo · 09/04/2007 17:12

I have been getting the emails, just havent actually been into them for a few days so have probably just not read that one yet! It is thanks to you that I can keep up to date at all ellie!!

Eddas, sending you go into labour soon vibes! People just dont think before they speak, and think that pregnant women are immune to shitty, stupid and insensitive comments!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 09/04/2007 17:40

Ellie, you got us all going!

Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter Monday. Not looking forward to dh going back to work, as it has been lovely having him home.

Pesha, hope you got some peace and quiet. Dh has been doing the garden all afternoon, so I have had to be in charge of Becky and her demands! Roll on bedtime.

Back later to see if there have been any more cheeky births!

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 18:02

am i really that sad that you all panic if i'm away for a day?!

don't worry, i know i am

OP posts:
runnyhabbit · 09/04/2007 18:06

SOSPL - Know what you mean about dh going back to work . Not too bad though, because as tomorrow is due date, he's working local from now one.

Found my camera lead - yay! - so have managed to download all the pics from my camera, and memory card is now free ready for lots of baby photos

Best go and get tea ready, seeing as dh has done loads today (and I've just watched tv or slept )

Emmymummy · 09/04/2007 18:14

WaspElly - congratulations! You did warn us your babies arrive quickly. Well done you.

So that's 3 out of the 6 South East meet-up girlies who've had their babies now. Gulp!

Smole - Thinking of you, Jesse and your family xxx.

IsabellyMoi · 09/04/2007 18:21

GWE - what a wonderful birth! Congratulations! You do sound so calm about it. Beautiful name, too. I think we are having a very high proportion of unusual/fast births on this thread. Hope the rest of us don't balance out the stats with 3-day labours or anything!

Smole - thoughts are with you, your family and little Jesse. Hope he improves soon. What a difficult time for you all...hope you are getting lots of comfort and support from RL family and friends. AngeG - thanks for the update.

Octo - That is SERIOUS and VERY impressive nesting!! Wow. I don't think I get that much accomplished in a week!!

Sorry about the sweep Eddas - hope everything starts happening soon. Our baby was engaged at previous AN visits and is now free, too! I think it was CD who said she takes this all with a grain of salt. I guess the babies do what they want and don't follow anyone's rules of what 'normal' is. Hope you aren't too discouraged and uncomfortable.

Hope everyone's had a great Monday. Had lovely lunch at friends' house and DH and I will likely just watch a movie tonight and have an early night.

weeonion · 09/04/2007 18:39

evening folks - just got up after a long nap and bit of a cuddle with dp, i agree with u sopl - its been lovely having him at home with me for a few days!

21 days of april left - and how many of us?? surely we should be averaging out to at least a baby a day??? and where is news of mmk??

we were at the day care unit this morning for a scan - checking out a "hot spot" on my tummy. they wanted to check out the placenta but its fine. the pain is where my tummy muscles have split apart lengthways - a bit like a hernia?? it is so sore but i am just relieved there is nothing wrong so dont mind really - plus we got to see her one last time before she is here. there she was sucking her thumb

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 09/04/2007 18:45

WO, glad is all well with you and baby. So jealous that you have got see her again. I can't wait to meet our wee one now.

Eddas · 09/04/2007 18:59

Isabelly, i agree, think babies do what they want. MW commented that baby was still back to back and she had said how to get it to turn. I just said that even if i'd been doing the on all fours things constantly doesn't mean it'll move. She agreed and said that they can be stuborn!!!

WO glad all was ok.

Can't remember anything else Erm > Isabelly, you said about the length of births, well I fully expect mine to be very long and drawn out I like to think the worst then at least I won't be disappointed!!!!
