i know it doesn't quite rhyme but it does nearly, and it's completely inoffensive to everyone but Eddas

Ooo and if you have any more south east meet ups can I join in please

liath · 09/04/2007 19:07

Evening!

Congratulations to GWE and Smole & hope Jesse is out of special care soon.

Hopefully have got myself into a slightly better frame of mind but felt awful last week, like raging PMT (complete with spots !) and ended up blubbering all over DH last night, poor sod. At least it meant I could get lots of things off my chest. I think he deserves a medal at the moment!

Also feeling very heavy, needing a poo etc etc so relieved so many others of you are!

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 19:09

i think i might have to have a holiday down your way when the next meet up is on

hello other overdueys. i guess you're right, that they come when they're ready. i can't help thinking that my haemorrhoid surgery had a lot to do with me going over. i was in so much pain, maybe mother nature knows not to send a woman into labour when her stress hormones are so high. and now i am very inactive, have hardly left the house in two weeks except for taxi trips to the hospital, which is quite different to my other late pregnancies. don't want to risk re-activating the piles though .

eddas - DD1 was OP. the MW gave me all sorts of advice about spending ages on all fours which I dutifully followed (partly as I was painting the nursery skirting board at the time). anyway, it didn't work at all. i should've carried on laying about on the sofa. she turned herself round during labour, which is apparently very common. so when they mentioned DD2 was OP I didn't worry and lo and behol, by the delivery she had turned too.

Not read much of the thread yet, but wanted to say to Mammyjo that I NEVER was any kind of mulch cow, and I had, in the early bfing days with DS, one tiny boob and one slightly less tiny Told my HV, and she said cheerily 'Bad luck!' which made me feel better, oddly. Anyway, I bfed exclusively for 6 months, then obviously introduced solids but continued bfing (no formula) for a year. HTH. By the way, I think mixed feeding is absolutely fine, I know loads of people this has worked for, but don't let any MW or HV bully you into this option - and believe me, some try. Go by bubba's weight, how she seems and so on. The loads of feeding at this stage is perfectly normal, IME.

Just wanted to add my congrats to GWE and to say that my thoughts, too, are with Smole

twinkle183 · 09/04/2007 19:23

Congrats on the quick arrival of your baby GWE...

My thoughts are with you Smole - hope Jesse recovers quickly!!!

Am still pregnant so no news here to report apart from the fact that I feel and look like a beached whale... Still having tightenings and feel very heavy down there but otherwise I am beginning to wonder whether I am looking for the right things where labour is concerned???? Even though this is my second....

Hope everyone else is good....!

Congrats GWE.. how quick??!!

It seems like the holiday weekend has been mostly relaxing and enjoyable for all of us.. even those with kids don´t sound like they´ve suffered too much! We finally painted the nursery which is the last of our big jobs before lo arrives, just got to hang 2 pictures now and all done. So feeling very proud of ourselves. Had family lunch yesterday AND today so feeling very full, tonight have had a lovely healthy CRUNCHY salad which was delicious. I feel salad season coming on in a big way..

Tomorrow I´m getting my wax and eyelash tint so I´m READY FOR YOU BABY!! (think he´s listening?!!) Apart from that I think it´s going to be a quiet week. I should clean the kitchen but let´s see how bored I get...

Right, back to reading to see if Octo has got any further along...

octo · 09/04/2007 20:03

every 5 minutes - told dh and he said (grunt first) 'well, they've been that before - I'm off for a bath' .... no flash of excitement, big hug or whoop - he said he will happy when he sees me in pain and doesn;t want me to have an epidural as its too boring - in fact he is taking a book to hosp this time!!

EllieKthePA · 09/04/2007 20:16

ok, i'm back

and impressed, Octo is still in labour

have sent on photos via email from Oooggs x

Tired this evening - had a nice time on the beach despite having MIL for company and a VERY grumpy little DD1 - she's been getting up OBSCENELY early recently and then being in a complete grump all day as a consquence. Anyway - was nice to be toether as a family, enjoying our picnic, the sun, the sand, the sea and ice creams! Thinking I need to go to bed soon though.....

Hoping it amounts to something this evening, Octo - You poor thing - how are the contractions going ???

Congratulations!! - To Waspelly on super-fast Thomasine - Hats off to your bro - glad everything went well - Stiching will heal fast (but I am sure you know what from last time, eh!? ) Enjoy her!

Octo - Yes, my car seat is in the car ready, but haven't put hospital bag in, as I would have to keep taking it out every time I took the DD's somewhere - the amount of crap I end up carting round with me. DD's are getting used to having new baby's seat in with them - They take it in turns to put thier dollies in there - It is very sweet!

Clarice - Liking your names v.much - Laura is nice, but agreed with whoever said Lauren was nicer!

WO - Awwwww, sucking her thumb - lovely! Glad all is ok - hope you pop soon, my sweet!

Eddas - Where SE are you??? Would be lovely to see you at any future meet-ups we have - We're all popping fast down here!!!

Wee Jesse, Smole and her family are very much in my thoughts and prayers during this v.difficult time. xx

CaptainDippy · 09/04/2007 20:18

Awwww Octo, [[hugs]] - 5 mins apart - sounds promising ......
