i know it doesn't quite rhyme but it does nearly, and it's completely inoffensive to everyone but Eddas

Enjoy your day at the beach

nuttygirl · 09/04/2007 12:14

Hi everyone, just had bacon sarnies here - yummy!

Congratulations Smole .

Ange - loved the pics. Hope you don't mind I showed them to DH too and he's so excited about meeting our LO!!!

Sorry that so many of us are having crappy night's sleep and aches/pains. I was so achey through night and had to go to the loo loads then I finally fell assleep at 5am only for DH to wake me at 5.15 to know if I wanted the bedside light switched off . Had sex this am to try and start something off but all it did was give me a sore belly and painful BHs for 2 hours...won't be doing that agin in a hurry .

Good luck for the sweep Eddas, I'm due one on Thurs. Will find out what time on Thurs morning when I have to ring mw. Also don't know if she's coming here or I have to go to her...so DH is gonna try and work from home. Is a sweep really as bad as every makes out? (DH told me someone at work said they are awful and then mum said the same - why can't these people understand I might not want to hear these things????)

Emmymummy · 09/04/2007 12:17

Nutty - a sweep isn't that bad to be honest. More uncomfortable & unpleasant than desperately painful. Don't worry about it, try to relax, as being tense would prob make it worse.

runnyhabbit · 09/04/2007 12:22

Nutty - I had a sweep with ds, and it wasn't painful, more uncomfortable. Imo, its about the same as having a smear, although not quite as quick. If you're really worried, maybe check with mw to see if you can have some parcetemol before they do it.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 09/04/2007 12:25

Hi all.

CD, enjoy the seaside - lovely day for it.

Eddas, really hope your mw comes soon to get on with things for you.

Octo, gad you are ok, and hope you enjoy your "me" time.

Mumcab, what a beautiful name.

Octo, so hope you are right! Just been to Sainsbury's and I thought my arse was dragging on the floor - feel sooooooo heavy!
Also feel like I need to poo all the time!! Sorry tmi at lunchtime - I shall try not to ruin people's meal times with this information!

Love to everyone else I haven't mentioned personally. I am thinking lots about you all. xx

nuttygirl · 09/04/2007 12:28

Thanks, mw gave me the impression it was just a little uncomfy but then people started saying it was terrible. Think mum is worrying about me a bit too much - she said yesterday she "wished she could have it for me" and she's felt sick for about 3 weeks!!! She was the same with my sis!!!

GirtWaspbElly · 09/04/2007 12:56

Hiya all,
Guess I'm supposed to do this via my 'buddy' really, but it all happened a bit quick in the end.

Thomasine Kay arrived at 4:20 this am, after having decided this was it (15 min contraction) and calling the midwife at 3:45, waters went at 4:15 and our girl crowned after the first push and arrived next push. My brother had just arrived (no midwife) and caught the girl as DH dithered. I went & sat onthe kitchen step with Tamsin at my breast until the midwife arrived to cut the cord & sort out the paperwork.

I feel fine now and am at home again (after a brief embroidery sesh at hospital - down previous scar)

So again I've been lucky enough to have another quick one, passing on the good vibes to you all

Katy44 · 09/04/2007 12:58

CONGRATULATIONS GirtWaspbElly
Glad everything went so well xxx
Please post pics of Thomasine Kay when you have the chance

Katy44 · 09/04/2007 13:02

I'm still grinning!
GWE - I think you've caught everyone having a day off MN and in the sun, I can't wait to see the reactions when they get back to find another baby!

Pesha · 09/04/2007 13:17

Congratulations GWE

Sounds lovely to sit there feeding her whilst waiting for mw And love the name.

runnyhabbit · 09/04/2007 13:17

GWE congratulations You sound so calm about it all

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 09/04/2007 13:21

GWE, bloody fantastic!! What a great birth, although I guess a bit scary as so quick - again! I am delighted for you hun, and wish you and the family lots of happy times.

Looking forward to the pics.
xxxx

runnyhabbit · 09/04/2007 13:22

Arrgghhh - My mum is the the one person who I thought wouldn't ring up and ask if I've got any twinges.
Whats just happened - my mum has got my dad to ring up and ask if I've had any twinges - ffs! Felt sorry for my dad because I was quite off with him.

Anyway, Congratulations again to GWE

mammyjo · 09/04/2007 13:27

Congrats to pinions, smole and GWE! Lovely news for all.

I have a question to all of you who have BF in the past or currently. I have been BF dd for 12 days now but today she seems to have gone wild feeding off me at least every hour but sometimes even more than this. My boobs feel flat which is scaring me as I wonder if my production is not enough for her. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I would be so grateful for anyones opinion or advice on this. Am really trying not to stress over it but am getting worried about it now. Thanks ladies.

AngeG · 09/04/2007 13:34

Congratulations Waspelly...wow anothe quick one Well done you.

Sorry still no time to catch up, but have had an update from Smole

"Jesse in Special care. Not feeding & his blood is too thick"

Sending love and prayers to smole, jesse and DH.

xx

octo · 09/04/2007 13:42

CONGRATULATIONS WASPELLY - no more girt for you lol!!! Great news and sooo fast - think my dh would dither, panic then faint in that order!! Thomasine is a lovely name - and despite the speed of delivery - it sounds absolutely perfect to me

Well done and love to your family xxxx

octo · 09/04/2007 13:43

Love to Smole, Jesse and Family - thinking of you xxxoxoxoxoxox

Pesha · 09/04/2007 13:48

Mammyjo - I never had huge boobs full of milk, never had my milk come in all of a sudden, dd and ds did both feed loads, almost constantly in the early days/weeks (or thats how I remember it anyway!) so I never had an excess of milk but still managed to feed dd for over 6 months and ds for over 8 months so I would try not to let it worry you. I dont know alot about bfing but i think try and keep feeding on demand and your supply should meet the demand. Maybe post something in the breast and bottle feeding section for some more informed advice about how to increase your supply, whether expressing might help or not or anything else cos I know nothing about all that! Sorry i cant be more help but just wanted to let you know i fed for a long time with what seemed like only just enough milk and they were both fine on it. Good luck with it

Eddas · 09/04/2007 13:48

OMG Girt that sounds unbeliveably quick. Can just imagine my brothers face if he'd had to help me Congratulations and well done

Well mw has been. Couldn't do sweep as my cervix was something or other that i can't remember!!!!

Baby is now not engaged, little monkey. At 38 weeks it was 2/5 now totally free. But she rang up the hospital for an induction date and it's thursday 12th, so although i don't want to be induced I was sure i was gonna have to wait til 16th so i'm pleased

Very strange though, she could feel the baby's head even though it's not engaged and said I was about 1cm Does anyone else find it odd what they can feel up there. Can you imagine dh having a rumage and feeling the head Sorry, just a thought!!!

claricebean · 09/04/2007 13:49

Congrats WaspElly (my due date buddy). Thinking of you Smole. Congrats on Jesse.

OK, Eddas and doghouse, I'll let you go next (queue etiquette and all that)...but can you hurry up, because I am getting very impatient and uncomfortable now.

On the plus side, I have so much help here that I can go off and snooze when I like, so have caught up a bit on last nights' three hours. . Feel like a watched pot though. My cousin has to go back to Scotland tomorrow and sadly seeing a baby is looking unlikely for her now . Luckily looks like mum is going to stay out for a while longer.

DH going back to UK for a fortnight on 14th so I have 5 days to get my act in gear!!!

Am loveing the names so far. DH is vetoing all of mine. He really wants Laura, which does work in both languages, but seems a bit boring to me. I like Ruby, Lola, Stella, Esme. He likes Ruby but only for a middle name. WDYT about Laura? I don't dislike it. I'm glad he's finally agreeing to discuss it TBH!

Pesha · 09/04/2007 13:50

Yes love to smole, Jesse and dh, am thinking of you X

Eddas · 09/04/2007 13:51

CB, glad to hear you are not going to jump the q

octo · 09/04/2007 13:52

I have been mega-nesting - have taken all my maternity clothes out of cupboard and put in nursery wardrobe - hung up all my pre-preg clothes in my wardrobe in colour order (I know they won;t fit but makes me feel good), put all my spring/summer shoes in wardrobe, sorted underwear, swimwear etc into drawers, put away winter stuff and big coats, sorted out all my make up and wash stuff and chucked loads of crap away, organised all my maternity pads of various descriptions (lol), checked hospital bag again, sorted out loads of paperwork .... just need to empty cupboard under stairs, sort out and put shoes in nice neat rows!!!

Have also got down all the boys summer stuff, tried it on them, sorted it out and put in washing basket ... thankfully most of it still fits so should only have to get sandals and school shorts for ds1 which is a relief - because now have organised my own wardrobe - can easily see what I need to buy for myself (cackle)!!! Would like a few more pairs of ballerina pumps and sandals and maybe some drawstring trousers and skirts to get me through post pg tummy phase!

That all sounds very self obsessive I know but is part of the nesting frenzy and post birth planning LOL

hotlipsmummy · 09/04/2007 13:53

Well done to Waspelly!! Crikey that was quick! There's no way my DH would have a clue what to do but he is very calm in a crisis so would probably cope nontheless.

Are all the quick births second (or more) timers?? Am now 2 days more preganant than I was with DS and I thought no2s were supposed to be more prompt??? Clearly getting my hopes up too much!

And best wishes to Smole and family - hope Jesse improves and gets better soon!

claricebean · 09/04/2007 13:54

x post Mammyjo. I bf all of mine for the first 6 months, although memory is a bit dim now. Isn't there a growth spurt around 2 weeks (or is it 3?) when they want more than you produce? You just have to persevere for a day and then the supply goes up in a step change IYSWIM. Might be 3 weeks though. Someone with some more reliable info than my memory is bound to be along soon, but wanted to say I'm thinking of you. I think it'll be a blip and will sort itself out if you keep putting DD to the boob.
