We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? Woke up about 3:30am thinking it was time to get up till I saw how dark it was. Two hours later, I'm still awake 😐

Ppol · 29/08/2017 05:52

Congratulations to all! I have received my fist ever bfp. So far my only symptom has been painful cramps for the last 3 days. Particularly painful at night. I thought it was my period coming at first!

RedPanda25 · 29/08/2017 06:33

@Fillybee it was exactly the same with me, my boobs were really sore with ds (one of my first symptoms) but they didn't really hurt with my miscarriage. Like you I am so relieved that they are hurting now and I hope this is a good sign! We're going to book a private scan when I'm around 7-8 weeks just for reassurance and to break up the time until the 12 week scan. How far along will you be when you have yours?

Congratulations @Ppol!

@Lindyj0 oh rubbish. Hope you managed to get back to sleep? I'm always out like a light these days!

Kublakhan · 29/08/2017 07:44

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Nothing much to report, just waiting and hoping for the best. Hope everyone is feeling ok and keeping healthy. Smile

Lindyj0 · 29/08/2017 07:58

Congrats on your bfp @Ppol! Glad everything is okay @Kublakhan 😀

MrsOB27 · 29/08/2017 08:21

Glad to hear your doing ok @Kublakhan! Trying my best to be healthy but really don't have an appetite at the min... I'm obviously eating but just don't fancy anything if you know what I mean! Anyone feeling the same?

MammaBear18 · 29/08/2017 09:03

Hi everyone 😊

I got my BFP on 21st August and I'm apparently due on the 4th May. It's my first baby so I'm quite lost to be honest! Registered this morning as I keep googling things, which I probably shouldn't be doing anyway, so I thought it'd be better to join a forum 😁

RedBlackberries · 29/08/2017 09:22

Keep going kub Flowers
My tiredness is ok today but my boobs are still so sore!

I don't have much of an appetite either but would happily lose 1/2 stone after putting it in since spring Grin

RedPanda25 · 29/08/2017 10:02

Congrats @MammaBear18! We're here to chat to instead of googling.

Yep I seem to do much better with my morning sickness if I eat little and often so trying to stick to that and not each much all in one go. Although that means I snack on rubbish which isn't great!

Firework83 · 29/08/2017 12:04

Welcome everyone! Fingers crossed this group will keep growing.

Gonna do my Clear digi tomorrow and have downloaded the Ovia pregnancy app... it's my fave so far so thanks for the tip.

Anyone know about what can / can't eat and drink now? I just had some cashew nuts and then was like eeeeep should I have done that?!!! X

Lindyj0 · 29/08/2017 12:48

Welcome MamaBear, this is my first too. I rang the docs today and they told me to make an appointment directly with a midwife. I've got a midwife appointment and scan on the same day but not till 19th October. I didn't think I'd have to wait that long but maybe that's normal. Today I feel really emotional and keep crying for no reason. Good job I'm not at work today 😂

Fillybee · 29/08/2017 12:55

@redpanda I'll be only 6.5 weeks but I just want to see if there's anything in the sac! My last pregnancy was an anembryonic pregnancy (which basically means the foetus had disintergrated early on but the body hadn't realised so the empty sac just keeps on growing). We found out at a private scan at 8 weeks which I'm so glad about or else it wouldn't have been discovered until the 12 week scan!

So this time we've booked a private scan for 6.5 weeks by which time should be able to at least see if there's anything in the sac even if the heartbeat is not visible yet.

Then we'll probably have another at around 8-9 weeks for another check. I'm hoping I get that one on the NHS due to previous miscarriages.

Such a long time to wait till the 12 week scan, especially these days when pregnancy tests are so good you can find out before period even due....

Yes! I've done 5 so far.... I think that should be enough but it's just nice and reassuring isn't it haha

JuniUmiZoomi · 29/08/2017 14:59

@Fillybee, sorry for your previous losses. Do you know if the 6.5 week will be an internal scan or just on the tummy?

Very organised sexlube!

I half want to do another test, half terrified it will be negative! All over the place here.

Thanks @RedPanda25 and @lindyj0!

I called my GP today and told me to register online when I'm 6 weeks and then gave me the number to midwives to book app once I've registered... Question is when exactly am I 6 weeks? Tried two different things (Fertility Friend) and online and got two different dates!

I ordered another batch of tests from Amazon because I can't live in the not knowing until the appointment 😨😂

Yes yes yes re repeated peeing on sticks! This afternoon's line is a lot lighter but really hoping it's just a dilute urine rather than a sign of something being wrong. Goodness knows how I will make it to 12 weeks for a scan.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 29/08/2017 18:36

Hello everyone

Got my bfp today, so am due May 7. DS has just turned 2, so think it will be a nice age gap. Was a bit harder to fall this time, and feeling very nervous about it not sticking. Not sure how I will be able to wait 8 weeks until a scan!

I seem to have forgotten all the things you're supposed to do when you first find out and keep obsessing about random things. DS was born by emcs at 35 weeks, so am currently feeling very clueless about labour.

katiegd · 29/08/2017 18:44

Welcome and congratulations to all the new people!

YES to repeated testing as well. I did one or two every day for the first week, then went to a festival which forced me to stop. I did do one when I got back and it was so much darker which was reassuring. I did get 20 strip tests online for about £4 tho so it hasn't broken the bank!

I'm becoming slightly less obsessive now than I was last week but I'm going to struggle to get through the next 7 weeks without going insane. Just going to celebrate each week milestone as it passes I think (5 weeks tomorrow yay!).

Out of interest, how many people have you told so far?

Californiadreaming15 · 29/08/2017 18:49

I've got my booking appointment on 25th Sept but I don't have a scan until 20th Oct it feels like ages away. I'm starting to think I'll want an early scan for reassurance, I just feel so nervous.

MammaBear18 · 29/08/2017 18:51

@sexlube my last period started on 28/07, my app tells me I'm 4+4 today! According to FF I would be starting my Week 6 on the 1st September but it just seems.... Early! 🤔

We have told parents and siblings, plus DH told his best friend. I'll be telling my besties as soon as I see them in person. It took us 10 months to get here so I guess we're a bit overexcited!

katiegd · 29/08/2017 19:22

Hi @MammaBear18 you're just two days after me :). If you're 4+4 today then you'll be 5 weeks on Friday 1st September. Some apps will talk about you going 'into your 6th week' but I think that's a bit confusing. You'll be 6 weeks (going by lmp) on Friday 8th.

I'm totally the same re telling people - took us a while to get here (about 20 months and about 12 cycles) and we're quite excited, so we have told parents and siblings plus a few close friends. Obviously all prefaced with 'its early days', 'we don't know it'll definitely all work out yet' etc. I'm going to tell my team at work next week as we are an extremely close small team and I don't want there to be any stigma/mystery if I'm off work with sickness/having miscarried etc.
