We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Sorry piglet , that must've been hard receiving such a letter today Sad

Poppy012 · 16/09/2017 17:51

So sorry @piglet Sad

Fillybee · 16/09/2017 18:06

Sorry @piglet god this is like some horrendous hunger games when we're being picked off one by one.... @piglet fingers crossed I meet you again soon, maybe the August or September 2018 thread?

Fillybee · 16/09/2017 18:08

@juniumi thanks Hun, do you know if it was progesterone that helped your friend? That seems to be prescribed for recurrent miscarriages quite a bit

MilfordFound · 16/09/2017 18:35

Gosh it's been a brutal few days on here hasn't it, so sorry to those who have lost Flowers

I'm feeling wretched, despite the anti sickness tablets. Ugh, it's so debilitating. Like a constant continuous bought of food poisoning. The tablets stop the vomming but leave me with the nausea.

I've turned into a terrible parent, lying on the sofa while my daughter has screen time, constant screen time. I considered taking her to the park but just couldn't face it. Too much activity makes the sickness worse. The sofa is my safe place!

LadyPug · 16/09/2017 18:37

So sad and scary that we're just sitting ducks but I guess there's nothing we can do, we just have to hope. Apparently chances get better from 5 weeks then again from 8 weeks! I'm nearly at the 5 week mark so hanging on in there but my only symptoms are period pain which doesn't fare well!!!! Thinking of all of those who have lost

JuniUmiZoomi · 16/09/2017 19:04

@Fillybee - hope you're home now & tucked up. They do something called a uterine scratch (I think) which stimulates the lining and then yes, I think it's progesterone fanny bullets for the first 12 weeks. I can you link you to my friend's blog which will have all the contact details.

Sorry piglet Flowers

MammaBear18 · 16/09/2017 19:29

So sorry Piglet I hope you are resting and taking care of yourself.

I agree, I dread checking the three now in case this happens to anyone else Sad hold on tight babies!

LadyPug · 16/09/2017 19:35

Following a link someone else shared, I think miscarriage rate more than halves down to 10% once we reach 5 weeks then down to 5% once we reach 8 weeks so we just have to hang tough and eagerly await these milestones. After 8 weeks it's all much better chances and drops again (to 3% I think) from week 12!

RedPanda25 · 16/09/2017 19:49

Oh no I'm so sorry @piglet81. It really has been an awful few days for our group.

How are you all doing? And how are you @katiegd??

I now have all day nausea and was just horrendously sick after tea but yet still feel nauseous. I guess now I'm past the 6 week stage it was to be expected. I'm actually in a weird sort of way relieved that I still have real symptoms and only a week to wait till our scan!

cautiousoptimist1 · 16/09/2017 19:53

Gosh what an awful few days. So sorry to hear your news piglet, hope you have someone with you, look after yourself.

timeisnotaline · 16/09/2017 20:42

Oh dear piglet I'm sorry.

Can someone please remind me how this works? With my first I went to the gp but I'm sure I've heard you self refer with second. I'd be going to one of two large hospitals, so do I just call them? Is there the 8 week booking in appt still for second babies?

Fillybee · 16/09/2017 20:47

spacefem.com/pregnant/mc.php?m=08&d=10&y=12

This gives day by day states which I did find quite reassuring, even if didn't help much in the end for me.

Fillybee · 16/09/2017 20:48

Stats I meant

LadyPug · 16/09/2017 21:03

Wow that's interesting, thank you filly

timeisnotanotaline where I am you still have to see the doctor, we can't refer straight to midwife

piglet81 · 16/09/2017 21:21

Thanks everyone, you are all so sweet. DH and I opened the bottle of champagne that we didn't have on my birthday last week, and lovely DS (2) is sound asleep upstairs so it's all good really. Best of luck to you all x

Doublechocolatetiffin · 16/09/2017 21:36

I'm so sorry holdtight, fillybee and piglet. Miscarriage is horrible, take time to grieve the loss of your babies and to recover. I really hope you all have successful pregnancies soon.

I'm feeling pretty scared today, I'm 6 weeks and I just don't feel very pregnant. It's just over a week until my scan and I'm getting more and more worried about it. What if it's not ok again.

LadyPug · 16/09/2017 21:56

Hey doublechocolate don't worry, just breathe and take each day as it comes. The worst thing you can do is stress so just surrender and try to trust in your body. If anything bad happens you couldn't have prevented it anyway so take some time for self care.

All easily said I know! No symptoms here and also stressed but trying to do this myself!!!!

muffin93 · 16/09/2017 22:18

I thought I should sign in as I'm 5 + 3 due on the 16th May and it's our first.

Just wanted someone's opinion on if I should tell work or not once I've had the scan? I started my new job on the 29th August and wouldn't be over my 3 month probation period by the time I have my scan. Can they let you go because of this? I just want to shout it from the roof tops already and can't think of how I would keep it a secret for a month after the scan!!

readysetcake · 16/09/2017 22:38

Gosh so sorry to hear your news piglet a very sad few days here. Wishing everyone lots of luck for future pregnancies.

Not sure muffin double
Check your contract maybe? I start a job in the 2nd October so not sure what to do myself! Not sure how long my probabtion is. Such bad timing as I should already be in the post but there have been hols ups.

ladypug I saw you post about having cramps and just wanted to say I had them until week six with my first. Was convinced I was going to start bleeding any moment. Try not to worry too much. But I know it's so hard not to.

Wishing you all the best for your scan in a week doublechocolate very tempted to get one as the thought of 8 weeks or more until the NHS one is horrible. Though I know my DH won't want to spend the money.

MammaBear18 · 16/09/2017 23:04

timeisnotaline for me (although it's my first) the process went like this: call GP, told to self refer at a website at 6 weeks, then call midwives, then book booking appointment, receive a letter giving date of the 12 week scan.

DoubleChocolate dont worry too much - I was exactly like you and worried daily (if not hourly!!) about lack of symptoms - then at the end of week 6/start of week 7 it's all kicked off. Probably you're just coping with the hormones better Smile

smu06set · 17/09/2017 06:42

muffin I would wait - they shouldn't let you go as that's discrimination but it would be very hard to prove that's what they had done. You don't have to tell work until week 25!

Gyoza · 17/09/2017 07:23

So sorry to hear of the recent losses in the group 💐 I hope you're all getting the support you need.

Where I am the NHS website advises to call up and self refer 'as soon as you know' so I called up at 4+2 and got a booking app at 8 weeks and scan at 12, does feel a bit weird not going to the doctor first but it's so difficult getting a doctors appointment at my surgery I didn't Even bother trying!

Thanks for the book suggestions, I got expecting better and pregnancy week by week from the library and they seem very useful so far.

Lindyj0 · 17/09/2017 07:24

Woke up with very painful period style cramps and feared the worst, ran to the loo to check and thankfully there's no blood. The cramping has eased off a little now, is this normal?
