My nausea is worse when I'm hungry so finding I'm almost constantly eating - prob put on about half a stone already which isn't good as I was trying to loose weight before we got pregnant and I wreckon the mw won't be happy with my weight 😩😮

I'm trying to include fruit and veg in my snacks - had a banana today which I enjoyed and I seem to be ok with pears and apples. Craving crisps, rice crackers chips pasta and bread - all of which I don't normally eat!

whyhastherumgone · 07/08/2017 20:58

@mrsw0812 I am dreading being weighed at my booking in appointment on Friday but like you, I've noticed that if I eat I don't seem to get the nausea....eurgh!

Fefifoefum · 07/08/2017 21:22

@Onceuponamama - I'm all about the cold dry food, cereal bars/crisps/sandwiches. Also really cold lemon squash, that's my go to!

I went shopping today and bought loads of soup?! Haven't eaten soup is ages but it's all I fancied.

Girls worrying about weight and booking appts, a positive story from my booking; I said oh I'm a bit plump, she laughed and said aren't we all, don't worry. Nothing anyone can do about your weight now so chilllllllll. I was a slimming world girl and had lost 2 stone pre pregnancy and had always said I'd carry on going throughout, however, there's just no way I could stick to it/weighing not make me feel bad.

OrangeCloud18 · 07/08/2017 21:22

Just saying hello, been throwing up all weekend, I'm off work for the week and have new anti sickness medicine to try...
So far it is not helping!
I really hope baby is ok in there!

FuzzyOwl · 07/08/2017 21:32

Hope those of you who are feeling/being sick start to feel much better soon. I'm just so tired and cold, although I'm not sure if it is pregnancy related or a bug. Hopefully I can get some sleep tonight as I'm still suffering with insomnia.

mrskitty15 · 07/08/2017 21:33

@Fefifoefum I am doing Slimming World too, doing ok at the moment but if nausea really grabs hold I know I will struggle...

whyhastherumgone · 07/08/2017 21:57

@fuzzyowl I'm really struggling with sleeping as well. It takes me ages to drop off - hours - and then I seem to either wake up at 4am or 5am and struggle to get back to sleep. The one thing that has helped me to get to sleep quicker is to listen to an audiobook or podcast in bed, I have no idea why. I've also been really cold - I think it's actually related to the tiredness! I've found my nausea to be worse when I'm exhausted as well. Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight

FuzzyOwl · 07/08/2017 22:04

Oh @whyhastherumgone that sounds exactly like me. I can't really concentrate enough to read a book but an audiobook might be exactly what I need. Thanks for the tip and I will give that a go. Really hope you get a better night tonight.

DancingUnicorn · 08/08/2017 07:42

Yep, I've always found having noise helps me sleep. I stick on a tv show on Netflix that I've seen before, that way I don't need to find out what happens and the characters are kind of comforting. It stops my head racing to a million different places.

ChaoticKate · 08/08/2017 08:06

Scan date has arrived in the post: 21 August when I'll be about 11+4 by early scan dating or 12+0 if going from LMP. It's very exciting as then I'll finally be able to tell people! I'm also booking in for the Harmony test in week 10 just to put my mind at rest. Nausea is starting to subside a little, although all I want to eat still is stodgy carbs, and I'm definitely starting to look a bit chubby.

Excited1203 · 08/08/2017 08:14

First day off sick for me. I sobbed and sobbed on my partner that I couldn't get up, I was too tired and felt too sick, have a dodgy stomach both ways. I should have refused to do the extra work yesterday, 15 hours out of the house is just too long a day right now. I decided sobbing is a very bad sign so best to just email in sick. Spent an hour reorganising the week to get my team sorted for today and reschedule everything else from today and answering urgent emails. Now I feel fine. Really, absolutely totally fine. Oh well, I'm going to go back to sleep anyway.

Excited1203 · 08/08/2017 08:20

Hope @FuzzyOwl and @whyhastherumgone got some sleep, and that all sick people are getting better, particularly poor OrangeCloud.

@ChaoticKate - Did you check your area's policy on testing? My midwife said in my local trust that they auto-refer the blood test for cfDNA (not Harmony but equivalent test) if the nuchal scan suggests an issue, so you get a clearer answer within the week. My scan is at LMP 11+4, so if that works out it'd only be just over a week later, save paying the £400 privately and it's the double test. I can well appreciate the desire to know asap and a week does still feel like forever, I just thought it might be useful to mention.

MrsW0812 · 08/08/2017 08:35

@Excited1203 - I can relate to feeling like that. Just sent my hubby a text as at work feeling good exhausted so nauseas and on verge of crying. I also can't concentrate on anything but don't want to go home sick 😭😩

Flatwhite31 · 08/08/2017 08:39

Morning everyone!
@OrangeCloud18 so sorry to hear you are still throwing up. I really hope it eases off for you soon.
@FuzzyOwl and @whyhastherumgone my sleep is so up and down too. I had a terrible sleep last night and am feeling sick this morning. My sickness levels definitely correlate with how much sleep I'm getting.
Lovely to hear about people getting scan dates! I'm hoping to find out about mine tomorrow at my booking appointment, or at least get an indication of when it might be.

Bluebell93 · 08/08/2017 08:50

Hope everyone is coping ok this morning, especially those really unwell, I definitely feel for you!

I have our reassurance scan tomorrow morning (9.30) when I should be 7+6. Do I need to drink a lot of water? The website just says a full bladder can be beneficial for early scans but doesn't give any more details! They also say they will do an internal scan if abdominal isn't clear which I hope it won't come to...

I'm also slightly worried as the scanning office is quite near one of my work's offices (although thankfully not the one I work at) so fingers crossed I don't see anyone I know on the way in/out!

NorthernBelly · 08/08/2017 09:05

Morning all!
@Bluebell93 for my scan the letter said to drink 'at least 2 pints of water or fruit squash 1 hour before your appointment time' I struggled to drink a lot, I think I managed about a pint and my scan was fine. To be honest though I've had lots of internal scans previously and for me they were absolutely fine - I'd go so far as to say I prefer internal ones because there's no pressing on your tummy and no feeling like you're going to pee yourself! (you need an empty bladder). Hope it all goes fine and you manage to sneak in and out unseen!!

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 08/08/2017 09:21

Hi ladies,
I've not been on #3 so far as have been feeling so bloody naff!

I've been feeling so so sick and tired these past couple of weeks... it makes sense though as last week at 6 weeks we found out that I'm carrying TWINS Shock

It's not sunk in yet, never in a million years did I ever expect it to be twins.

I hope everyone else is getting on well? There's far to many posts for me to RTFT Smile

TeaAndPjs · 08/08/2017 09:26

Sorry to hear some of you are havi g a bad time with sickness. I feel for you. I've just had extreme nausea but not actually been sick as of yet.

sally that's great but must have been a shock

whyhastherumgone · 08/08/2017 09:27

oh wow @sallywiththegoodhurr amazing!! So glad your reassurance scan was okay :)

I managed to drop off to sleep a bit quicker last night but I swear i was up every hour until I gave up and got up at 6. Woke up to find the fridge smelling gross so in my wisdom decided I had to get rid of the smell immediately - cue lots of gagging.

Feeling foggy and tired today but have a full day of stuff to do so looks like i shall be grinning and bearing it. Does anyone else think that even plain cold water smells funny now??

Excited1203 · 08/08/2017 09:53

Congrats @sallywiththegoodhurr, wow, twins is a scary prospect.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 08/08/2017 10:01

Thank you.

Yes very scary @Excited1203!

Oddly enough it had crossed my mind, to the point of googling 'when you're pregnant with twins, do you just know?' Because I'd been feeling so ill and can't lay on my stomach already etc.

Ahhhhh it's still not sunk in

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 08/08/2017 10:02

^^ obviously I still didn't expect it!

I think most people wonder if it could be twins in the beginning

Flatwhite31 · 08/08/2017 10:47

Oh wow @Sallywiththegoodhurrr! Congratulations! How did you feel initially when they first said twins?

I had a massive urge this morning to clean out the kitchen cupboards! No idea why lol. I found spices which expired two years ago! I feel a sense of satisfaction now I've done it though Smile.

Moose23IsHungry · 08/08/2017 11:30

Morning all!

I have been absent for awhile as I was convinced this was MMC three due to lack of symptoms. Reading all of your morning sickness stories was making me convinced that it was over!

Went into the EPU for a scan, prepared for the empty sac, but they saw a heartbeat. It was like finding out that I was pregnant again!

I hope you all feel better, but I am also hoping I get some nausea of my own. It would be reassuring!

FuzzyOwl · 08/08/2017 12:20

Thanks for the sleepy wishes!

Very exciting Sally. I always wanted twins but now I have two already, I think I would be rather overwhelmed.

Great news Moose.
