so impressed with everyone who is still exercising. I am naturally a pear shape so all hips, thighs and ass and am genuinely concerned i might turn into the size of a house.

DancingUnicorn · 06/08/2017 15:21

I am still losing weight, despite the fact that I'm eating pretty much normally/less healthily than usual and haven't been sick at all. Bit worried about it actually, though it's not lots of weight.

TeaAndPjs · 06/08/2017 19:48

I don't exercise as such but do a lot of walking in general. I can't get enough of red grapes at the moment, eating them continuously the past few days as we've been on days out and my car sickness has got worse and it helps. I'm drinking less tea (normally a total tea jenny) still having the odd coffee tho I only tend to have 2-3 a week at most

lokelani · 06/08/2017 19:59

Hi everyone. I was on the original march post but lost track. Great to see so many names still here. I'm now 10+3 and suffering. I can hardly eat, sick many times a day, struggled to drink even. I've been put on some sickness meds which have helped a small amount. Had to take a few days off work which is unheard of for me. Currently deciding if I can manage tomorrow (and that will only be WFH). I'm jealous to see people are exercising. I run normally but even a ten min walk has been out of my capabilities! I've had my first MW app but still no scan date. They couldn't do my blood test (cos I was too weak) and I have to go back so maybe that's delayed the booking? Poor DH he is being so fab. Currently I'm in our bedroom creating a double door safety zone from the smell of his dinner cooking! This isn't fun!

How has everyone gotten on telling people? I'd hoped to wait but had to tell cos I'm so ill.

Countdowntofour · 06/08/2017 21:27

Poor you @lokelani, that sounds awful. Have you got hyperemesis? I hope it all eases up for you soon!
Have only told my close friend and my mum so far, I need to tell my best friend but it's tricky as she lives at the other end of the country amongst other things 😕..don't know when we'll tell dps family but general people will most likely find out when it's obvious 😁 so anti-social right now!!

pusscous · 07/08/2017 06:29

Oh Lokelani that's dreadful, I hope you start to feel better soon. I had to do the double door thing to block smells, usually cleaning products, in my last pregnancy but then dh would put air con on and the smell would be blown into my room.

Dh did start 2 weeks ago saying the sicknesss was all psychosomatic and I can control it 😡 I took great delight when he was feeling quesy the next morning. I was not a caring wife.

We told our dd last night, she's 2.5 and I was really worried about telling her; it's signaling the end of her world as she knows it. She took it ok and has been repeating bits and processing it. This morning, she stroked my tummy and gave it a kiss.

We told her as I feel she knows by intuition- when I just discovered the pregnancy she would give me gifts to make me feel better- 'poorly tummy'. And also she has to come with us today to the hospital, most of the babysitters here are in holiday or have previous commitments. I have my first appointment today, its with an OB so hopefully should see the baby. It's been a big stress getting this appointment, I now have state health cover and top up insurance, but due to the summer I can't find many drs left who speak English and take state cover, so I'm having to pay for an expensive private dr.

Excited1203 · 07/08/2017 06:51

Sorry to hear you've been so poorly @lokelani. We've only told my parents so far, because I'm useless at keeping secrets but also because if something goes wrong we think his parents would take it very hard as first grandchild (and no sign of any others). I'm longing to tell my sisters and my partner's parents, but we agreed to wait for the Downs test result (hopefully in about 3 weeks and 5 days).

Flatwhite31 · 07/08/2017 08:09

Oh you poor thing @lokelani. Make sure you watch out for signs of dehydration. It met be that you need IV fluids.

@pusscous sounds like your DD has taken the news well, bless her. Where is it you live again? I can see from your post that you're not UK based.

I'm not exercising much, but trying to fit in a walk every day. Walked for 1.5 hours yesterday, then walked round town with my sister in law. I was in bed by 9!

Does anyone else have their booking appointment this week? Mine is on Wednesday.

KerryLeanne84 · 07/08/2017 09:40

@Flatwhite31 - mine is on Thursday!

The talk of exercise inspired me to cycle to work today but something went ping on the way so I walked the last 15 mins lol - still good exercise I guess!

Flatwhite31 · 07/08/2017 09:49

@KerryLeanne84 how exciting! We'll have to compare notes afterwards Smile. I hope the 'ping' was the bike, and not you!

KerryLeanne84 · 07/08/2017 11:08

Oh yep, the bike :) Got to take it to the repair shop shortly :)

Jacqueje · 07/08/2017 11:28

@lokelani hope your nausea settles soon, sounds awful! I have nausea and lots of gagging but no vomiting but still only 7+3 so who knows what the future holds! Had horrible train journey home from seeing MIL yesterday, two women were sharing a corn on the cob across the aisle and the look and smell of it made me gag so badly! Also now totally off coffee, drinking tea for last few days, this morning just the smell of Dh's coffee set off more gagging.

Haven't told family yet as they would get so excited and that would make me feel worse if something then went wrong, but told a couple of people at work so they understand why I'm being crap and also because of pending appointments. Also makes me feel better having someone else to talk to about it.

KerryLeanne84 · 07/08/2017 14:38

Wait, they were eating a corn on the cob on the train?! How bizarre!

Flatwhite31 · 07/08/2017 14:58

Hahaha @KerryLeanne84 I was thinking the same! What a funny thing to eat on a train! Lol.

Fefifoefum · 07/08/2017 15:19

Oh thread no3!!

Glad to see most are still here/catching up 😊.
I've been off work for a week but doing my volunteer work, I'm a guide leader and have spent my week in a field with 1000 scouts and guides. The fresh air really helped, the portaloos did not! Still vomiting at least once a day and nausea/exhausted all the time, although it's either getting better or I'm getting used to it!
Got my scan date through for the 31st, exciting!!

SheSaidHeSaid · 07/08/2017 15:40

I've just been drinking Sainsburys own brand gold roast decaf, it's not the same as the real thing (obvs) but it's not too bad. I drink it black so not sure whether that makes a difference.

Good to see some of the originals from the beginning have found us! It can definitely be difficult keeping up sometimes and before you know it there's another thread.

Not so good to see some are still suffering. I've been very lucky so far and mostly just felt sick rather than being sick.

Carbs are my best friend and enemy at the same time. I was loosely doing slimming world before I fell pregnant, kind of to lose weight and kind of to maintain the weight I was, but the amount of biscuits and bread and the such that I have been eating recently is definitely off-plan and I really do feel like I'm putting on weight I don't want to. I'm going on a friends holiday next month and really wanted to look a bit better when I go but I'm all squidgy now and I blame those pesky carbs.

lokelani · 07/08/2017 16:36

Gosh I'm envious of everyone eating and drinking! Lol. I'm having a good day today though. I've even put a request in for some real food with the DH so that's exciting. Thanks for the caring messages back too xx

How are the booking in apps going. My midwife was so lovely and reassuring. My friend had hers last week I think she is about 11 weeks and she got to hear a heartbeat!

Jacqueje · 07/08/2017 18:39

yeah, the corn on the cob was weird and gross in equal measures....

Onceuponamama · 07/08/2017 19:39

Hi all, I'm glad everyone's booking appointments seem to be going well! Mine isn't until the 22nd of August, which feels like ages away!

I'm still having the 24/7 nausea Confused and struggling to maintain a normal diet. I've read online to eat protein and lots of small meals/snacks throughout the day but I have zero appetite!

Would you girls mind sharing what foods you're eating /snack ideas with me? I'd like to talk to the midwife about it all but it's not possible until my booking appt unfortunately.

1000jobstodo · 07/08/2017 19:53

Oh here you all are! 🖐🏼 I thought things had gone very quiet!
Hope everyone is feeling ok.
I'm constantly nauseous but not actual vomit. My new hobby is heaving. At smells/sights (food) and when walking- it's the motion as I quite a determined walker!
My dh bought me a dominos the other day after me pestering for hours. I saw it and promptly pushed it away. It had sausage on it... Even talking about it is grim. I then cried as I really had wanted it. So bloody pregnant Hmm
Glad to see there's been so many positive scans, fantastic news.

I'd like to join the Facebook group. Any idea how I private message on phone (accessing through Internet on phone). Also, who do I need to pm?

I'm watching game of thrones while I gently heave every minute or so. Have a good evening all!!

Excited1203 · 07/08/2017 19:57

@Onceuponamama - I like the nature Valley peanut and chocolate protein bars for breakfast. They're sweeter than I'd normally stomach for breakfast, but they don't make me feel stuffed while they do fill me up all morning. Houmous and most hot food comes and goes as a snack option, I fancy something or am repelled on other random days. Berry smoothie made with apple and orange (no banana) was delicious too.

I'm no good talking about consistent diet though, I ate plain pancakes morning and late afternoon between meetings today because they were available at work and I had no time to have food otherwise. Tonight we're having whatever my partner can find in the freezer when I get home, which will be over an hour at least. Sob!

mrskitty15 · 07/08/2017 20:00

@Onceuponamama That sounds awful, how many weeks are you now? I had nausea all day from 10-17 weeks with my first DC so I know how rubbish it feels. Have you got any sea bands to wear? I have got mine on now. Yesterday morning I suddenly felt like I was going to be sick so I put them on and they have only come off for bed time since then, they were a life saver last time too.

In regards to snacks, I had a lot of ginger biscuits which I now hate. I also found sucking on boiled sweets especially mints helped too and I found the bottle green ginger and lemongrass cordial was really good for sipping on too. Not really sure on protein snacks though, hope that helps in some way.

whyhastherumgone · 07/08/2017 20:04

Hello all sorry to hear some of you are really suffering. I thought my morning sickness had hit but just with nausea and gagging but it seems to have eased off today - so naturally panicking instead of enjoying it!

With regards to food the only things i have wanted consistently are watermelon, marmite on toast and mashed potato. I feel like a beast already as was low carbing before - so i feel your pain @shesaidhesaid

Scoobygang7 · 07/08/2017 20:42

@1000jobstodo you need to log in on your phone browser to get to private messages. I think I can add you as I am in the group but it was @FuzzyOwl that set it up I think.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 07/08/2017 20:42

Ooh, lovely to hear of all the booking in appointments, it feels like we're making progress! Mine is on the 14th, and I have to pop in beforehand to pick up some leaflets and a sample pot. I also need to ask them to remind me what time it is as I didn't have my diary when they phoned so wrote it on a random piece of paper which I promptly and inevitably lost. Blush

Hope all those with horrible symptoms get relief soon! I have become a protein and carb monster - fruit and veg just isn't getting a look in at the mo. Last time I constantly craved fruit! Pregnant bodies are weird... Grin
