@OrangeCloud18 amazing news so glad it all went well Smilex

mamasiz · 29/08/2017 16:52

12 week scan done! So lovely to see our little prawn again. Had to go for a walk after the first attempt at the scan as baby was standing on their head, waving their little arms around and no measurements could be taken! Definitely my baby Smile Measurements seem fine and following up with Serenity in a few weeks to be sure. Aaaaaand relax...

Excited0803 · 29/08/2017 18:17

Aw, cute little acrobat you have there @mamasiz, congratulations.

Excited0803 · 29/08/2017 18:20

@OrangeCloud - congrats!

@whyhastherum - I've been worse from week 10 too, 12+5 today. Slightly better today, only 2 extra naps so far. Hoping for magical improvement soon.

I'm 5ft 3 as well. Longer torso though, short legs.

Banania · 29/08/2017 18:23

Congrats everyone, great news.

I'm 5'2, normally size 8 but just had to buy some new clothes in bigger sizes - tops mostly - to keep hiding for a while longer. Long camis to wear under slouchy tops, etc.

12+4 and have been feeling the baby move for about a week Shock
Says a lot about the state of my stomach muscles!

mummymathsteacher · 29/08/2017 18:49

After 10 weeks of lurking, I've finally decided to post. Currently 14+1w, fat and fed up of headaches, but at least there's no more nausea!

So glad to read all about all the scans!

Loosesnuggles · 29/08/2017 19:25

Hello! Can I join too please :) I'm 10+6. Finally had my booking appt today, No scan or scan date yet. Been hugely struggling with nausea, I did in my first pregnancy too and it went on for 5 months. I feel even worse this time (plus toddler and more physical job) so succumbed to seeing gp and asking for meds today. Bit gutted that I can't do without, but I'm miserable and I miss eating and drinking and being able to move from the sofa. Feel relieved to have been checked over and not be as dehydrated as I feared I might be. Will be pleased to see the bean, lovely to hear about the scans so far.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 29/08/2017 19:59

Welcome @mummymathsteacher and @Loosesnuggles Smile

Tiberius12 · 29/08/2017 21:33

Hi everyone, I was on the first thread but kind of lost off as I was getting more and more anxious due to the MMC I had in March. But I've been for my 12 week scan today and everything is great, measured a few days ahead so my due date is now 8th March. Baby was wriggling around loads

Scoobygang7 · 30/08/2017 05:50

Welcome to the new joiners.

So excited/nervous scan is today at 2pm. Just hoping that the hospital doesn't mind us having to bring our 2.5 year old as we have no child care for him. I am a bit more relaxed about it as there wasn't paperwork with the scan letter saying don't bring them as there was when I had his scans through.

Here's hoping that the hospital lot can get blood from me today as god knows what's going to happen if they can't.

mummymathsteacher · 30/08/2017 07:24

I took my 2 year old to the scan scooby and they were fine with it. They just asked that they checked everything was okay first while DH waited outside

blinkineckmum · 30/08/2017 08:08

Congratulations on all the lovely scan news, and hello to all the new people on the thread. All very exciting!

blinkineckmum · 30/08/2017 08:10

Good luck, also to Scoobygang. Hope your 2yo behaves! It will be amazing for them to see the picture. I can't wait to show my pic to my 3yo and 1yo! Luckily my scan is in work hours so they'll be in childcare. (3yo will be so disappointed if it's not twins though Sally. He's told me for ages how much he wants 2 little ssisters called Anna and Elsa!)

Flatwhite31 · 30/08/2017 08:14

Congratulations on the healthy scans ladies. X

Minervamouse77 · 30/08/2017 08:23

Lovely to read about everyone's scans, and welcome to the newbies.
I'm 14weeks now have loads more energy which is great. I'm not showing yet (apart from the bloating!) but I'm sure it won't be long.

Scoobygang7 · 30/08/2017 08:25

Thanks @blinkineckmum and gonna take wild guess he'd also hope that Elsa would have magical powers.

Tiberius12 · 30/08/2017 08:28

Haha Blinkineck my 2 year old also wants 2 sisters called Anna and Elsa, there's definitely only 1 baby in there though

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 30/08/2017 08:33

@blinkineckmum that made me laugh! I think my girls would probably choose Anna and Elsa if they had the chance too!

Banania · 30/08/2017 09:19

We still haven't told our kids. 5 yo would blab to all her friends and I'm hoping to keep it quiet a bit longer apart from family and a few close friends. Not ready for the whole town to hear!

I think they will be excited thoughSmile

I definitely have way more energy now, it's like a fog just dissipates and you can't really remember what s terrible fug the early weeks were. Still have a few food aversions though. I'm going to have to really talk myself into eating fish again for the sake of the baby Envy

Banania · 30/08/2017 09:20

Not sure why both of those emojis were green...?!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 30/08/2017 10:00

So I thought I was through the nausea, but the last two mornings I have felt really awful. Just starting to feel well enough to start the day now - dd has spent the last few hours enjoying unlimited screen access...

lokelani · 30/08/2017 10:42

@Banania you're so right. I've started to feel a bit better this last few days. And already I seem to be forgetting how awful I felt. Weird.

Food wise I'm starting to eat again. I still can't do hot food cos of smells. But I am eating a bit of salad and cold meat. So I feel pretty proud of that progress.

I read you can stop taking folic acid at 12 weeks is that right? I was told by my MW to stop taking multi vits quite early on as they can really make nausea worse (and I had such a good diet before I had sufficient reserves).

Ive started to tell close friends now. Gosh it makes it real!

Loosesnuggles · 30/08/2017 11:08

That's interesting Lokelani about multi vits. It's had to know what's best isn't it. I've only just made it out of bed and the walk downstairs made me vomit :( trying to get some cereal in. Hoping it will stick.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 30/08/2017 11:22

I know this isn't a twin thread but I feel most comfortable posting here.

I've finally got my head around having twins (it took a while!) but now I'm terrified of vanishing twin syndrome, I had a scan at 7 weeks which showed healthy twins measuring exactly the same but by 12 weeks 1 in 5 twins pregnancies only have 1 baby left apparently Bastard Dr Google.

(Vanishing twin syndrome is where 1 twin stops growing and is absorbed back into my body in very early pregnancy).

To top it off - I still haven't made my booking appointment at 10+2 so best get that sorted.

lokelani · 30/08/2017 11:50

@Loosesnuggles yes I think she said it was due to the iron content? Certainly some brands have a rep for causing more nausea. I swapped to 7 seas and they were certainly easier. But I did feel better once I came off them (plus got sick meds)

I'm also wearing those sea sick wrist bands. I was really sceptical but they have really made a difference. £7 off amazon!

I've never heard of the twin syndrome. Hoping all things are well for you. Get on with making that appointment though! X
