That's good that they've brought it forward @Bluebell93, how far gone will you be?

Does anyone else get pulling in their stomach muscles whenever they move quickly or reach for something? Ids like a quick pull as if my abdomen is made of elastic bands or something.
I've had it before but not this much! So weird

Onceuponamama · 24/08/2017 19:53

Thinking of you for tomorrow @flatwhite31.I hope it goes as well as it can and your recovery is good and your time on holiday will help.

@excited1203 best wishes for you scan tomorrow! Is this your 12th week or an early scan?

@chaoticKate excellent news your on your test results and baby is healthy!

Onceuponamama · 24/08/2017 19:57

@sally sometimes I get that weird feeling. I was getting it a lot more a few weeks back, especially when I sneezed etc!

I'm 11+3 today (midwife changed dd again) and since last night I've been getting period type pains. I woke up at 5am and checked to see if I had started! There's been no bleeding, do you think I should get it checked out or wait and monitor it first? So weird and scary!

Excited1203 · 24/08/2017 20:13

Thanks @onceuponamama, it's my 12-week scan at 11+5. Hoping it'll be ok but pretty scared and had a few sobs about it to my partner and mum. Largely I'm scared because I'm so exhausted and feeling so much worse the last 2 weeks, butt try both say that's just pregnancy symptoms so it's ok. Period-style cramps would worry me too, no reason why you shouldn't call the midwife for that. Are you sure they're central period-like pains, not a stretchy feeling nor a stronger version of the elastic tug/ twang on one side or the other of your pelvis when you move like @Sallywiththegoodhurr describes? I've been getting both of those a fair bit too, I think quite a few of us said we had them a week or so back. Uterus stretching when it's up top, round ligament pain if it's twangy and low.

Bluebell93 · 24/08/2017 20:15

@sallywiththegoodhurrr I'll be exactly 12 weeks based on LMP but I think I'm a couple days further than on than that.

I also have been getting the stomach muscle thing whenever I reach for anything or twist quickly. The other thing I've found is like groin cramps when I'm walking (not necessarily that far) which are really weird as I'm mostly fine when not moving. Saying that my stomach feels tender right now, but that could be from eating.

OrangeCloud18 · 24/08/2017 20:26

Onceuponamama I have had period type pain a few times (I have endometriosis). My midwife told me that if you have a pain that you would not have paid attention to if you had not been pregnant, then it's not worrying, if this makes sense.
I've been going with what she said because otherwise I worry for every little pull I feel, some which is more gas related than baby related haha

FuzzyOwl · 24/08/2017 20:33

I get loads of stomach cramps and figure some of ligament pain, some is my uterus growing and others digestive pains. Had a scan today and all is ok though.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Minervamouse77 · 24/08/2017 20:39

@Excited1203 hope your scan goes well, I've got my scan tomorrow as well, I'm 12+5 so a week on from you. I've been feeling much more anxious about it the last couple of days and am glad it's a morning appointment. My tiredness has really improved this week but I'm not sure if that's due to being sensible and getting plenty of really early nights or if I've just reached that stage.

Excited1203 · 24/08/2017 20:40

Congratulations @FuzzyOwl, good to hear it went well for you. Did you see much movement or was your little one sleeping?

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 24/08/2017 20:44

Glad your scan went well @FuzzyOwl Smile

Onceuponamama · 24/08/2017 20:45

I'm only two days behind you then! No scan booked yet though... still waiting for it in the post. I know how you feel I'm really nervous for this scan too . I'm scared I guess that I've gotten this far and it might be all for nothing...With regards to your symptoms though, it really is an excellent sign I think. When I had that scare back bewteen6-7 weeks, the sonographer was really pleased I was feeling rubbish (tired, sicky etc) before she did the scan and it turned out baby was fine. I think symptoms are something positive if we're ever worried ok. Keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow and let us know how it all goes when you have a moment! Smile

About the cramps... my body is confusing me really! I've taken a day off of life today and just layed down hoping I'm helping my body by resting. When the pain struck at 5 it was quite painful, (I think it was period pain) tmi I did notice my tummy was really bloated though and my undies were tight so I tried to have a wee and changed and that did ease it a little. Does anyone know if clothing tightness can cause cramps? I'm definitely buying larger undies tomorrow just incase!

Excited1203 · 24/08/2017 20:48

Thanks @MinervaMouse77, good luck to you too. I'm not until 3pm. I managed to do a fair bit of gardening today, my first prolonged activity of the week, still having to rest every 2 hours or so (after going to bed at 8.30pm last night), but only for 15 min each time so it was a step in the right direction. I'm not sure how I'll cope back at work next week now I've got so dependent on naps with this week off, just going to hope the tiredness starts to recede like yours. Otherwise I'll try working Tuesday at home, see how much I can do.

Onceuponamama · 24/08/2017 20:50

@orangecloud I have suspected endometriosis (can't confirm until I have surgery) so maybe that's what could be causing it! Thank you for passing on that info about what your midwife said to you. It wasn't a crazy I'm dying pain, I just literally thought my totm was starting.

@fuzzyowl - fantastic news on the scan! Glad it went OK for you.

Excited1203 · 24/08/2017 20:51

Hmm, sounds digestive to me @Onceuponamama. I hope it is anyway.

scottishem · 24/08/2017 21:13

@Onceuponamama if its pains and not cramps I wouldn't worry too much (easier said than done I know). My midwife and GP said a similar thing to me as others have said; our bodies are growing a baby, its like our uterus's have suddenly been switched on and we notice every little thing (so we should!) when we wouldn't turn a blind eye before. there's so much stretching going on at the moment (google size of uterus at ?? weeks and its amazing how much theyre grown already.)
I've had some round ligament pain but also had the odd really sharp pain that feels like a period pain but I was told as long as its not accompanied by bleeding and cramping its ok as long as you feel it goes away or comes and goes as opposed to always there.
But I would alwayyyssss say that if you feel uneasy, worried or concered about it call you EPU, its what theyre there for and even if I feel stupid and like I'm over reacting I'm going to blooming well use them as thats the point of them! Smile Hope you feel better soon! X

BlueeSpottyTiger · 24/08/2017 22:50

onceupon I don't worry about period cramps, i have them on and off all the time and did last pg too.
I was abit concerned the other week though when they was accompanied with contractions and back ache. Turned out to be a UTI so was given amoxicillin. The crappy little mw/dr's urine tests did not pick up the uti, My wee was sent to pathology and only then was it picked up.
I had no other symptoms of a UTI.. could this be a possibility for you?

SS81C · 25/08/2017 06:27

Flatwhite31 · 25/08/2017 07:26

Thank you so much ladies. It really is heart warming to see such lovely, thoughtful messages wishing me well. Got to be at the hospital by 11, but I suspect there will be loads of waiting around. Feeling ok at the moment, but I think the emotions will hit afterwards.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 25/08/2017 07:30

All best wishes for today flatwhite. xx

Moose23IsHungry · 25/08/2017 07:31

@Flatwhite31 All the best for today. There will be lots of faffing around at the hospital but they'll take good care of you. And then take the time to rest tomorrow, and have a relaxing holiday from Sunday. X
