You're going to be fine @FlatWhite31, not long to wait now.

Banania · 22/08/2017 11:46

Well I had my dating scan today and I'm 11+4. It was really incredible, maybe my other 2 were as clear but I don't remember it being so! Could see long little legs curling and kicking and moving around. Just wow. Dh wasn't there as he had to be with our kids and I feel sorry for him that he didn't see it!

Good luck to everyone feeling nervous. I was absolutely shitting it lying up on the bed so I understand the anxiety.

Banania · 22/08/2017 11:50

Meant to say glad you're feeling better orange, what an awful time you've had, just can't imagine Flowers

Re clothes I'm wearing Next jersey trousers today, so soft and handy for this in between time. Also jeggings (not jeans) from Next which are much stretchier and v handy. I'm not normally a Next girl!

xxHappyHippyxx · 22/08/2017 12:00

Yeah full on bitch mode here too haha but only at the smallest insignificant irrational things though.. 🙄 also dreams were weirder than ever last night!

Did anybody try and say scanxiety out loud? And find it really difficult?? 🤣 fingers crossed @Flatwhite31 🤞🤞 and wishing the day away for you!

xxHappyHippyxx · 22/08/2017 12:02

Oh was typing when you posted @Banania congratulations!! 😊

lokelani · 22/08/2017 12:06

Great new @Banania!!! we got a wave yesterday. I was blown away.

whyhastherumgone · 22/08/2017 18:12

Great news @Banania - I haven't even got the date for my 12 week yet but think it will be in 2-3 weeks as midwife is sticking with my original dates even though private scan put me at 8 weeks instead of 8+5 - and I'm already nervous!! Scanxiety is such a great word for it.

Dropped off the thread a bit as the exhaustion is really getting to me, I just can't seem to function normally at all. And then as soon as I start feeling better I have a little panic that something has gone wrong even though the scan was good [I know it's no guarantee that everything will be fine but I'm trying to take some reassurance from it!].

Feel like a whale in all my clothes already, still got some serious bloat and some weird back pains and stomach twinges. Nausea has got a little better - as long as I'm eating regularly it seems to keep it at bay.
Anyone else still struggling with tiredness? Genuinely don't know how all of you with DC already do it - I'm so pathetic!!

Good luck for your scan @FlatWhite31 - it's tomorrow isn't it or was it today? Sorry - scatterbrained! x

Flatwhite31 · 22/08/2017 18:30

Great news @Banania!

Thank you @whyhastherumgone. It's tomorrow morning, eek! Went out for afternoon tea earlier with my sister in law, which thankfully provided a very welcome distraction from the anxiety!

Excited1203 · 22/08/2017 18:41

Hi @whyhastherumgone - I'm struggling worse than ever with the tiredness. I've been off work since last Wednesday, the aim being to get back to being functional with no work before going back in, but I'm still knackered all the time, needing rests and getting dizzy. I'm probably undermedicated with my thyroid too, but I have to wait for my consultant appointment in week 16 as the doctors won't change anything until then, i.e. nearly 5 weeks away! I'm just hoping that the first trimester bit of the tiredness starts to lift soon so that I only have thyroid tiredness.

I love the phrase scanxiety, it fits very well, 3 days of scanxiety left for me.

DancingUnicorn · 22/08/2017 19:36

Flat completely with you on the scanxiety. I'm terrified. Really hope it all goes well for you in the morning. Will be virtually hand holding from mine!

blinkineckmum · 22/08/2017 22:23

Hello. Wherehasalltherumgone - I was reading your todzilla thread on AIBU!
No news here. I am still hungry a lot, nauseous a little, no sign of growing boobs, terrified there's nothing there... 2 weeks until dating scan.
I've told very few people as my 3yo is always with me and picks up everything. Once he knows, everyone knows! I can't wait to show him and his sister the scan photo, all being well, but then the cat's out of the bag! My mum guessed though.
I don't know if anyone else has ever been in this position, but as a teacher who will have 3 pre-schoolers, I'm going to ask for extra time off after mat leave. I think it's called Parental Leave, not sure. Any advice? Do you think I should ask straight away? I'll tell school soon after the scan as I'll want to tell my colleagues.
In answer to extreme tiredness and kids... you learn to live as a zombie! My 1yo sleeps badly. Tonight she went to bed at 6.30pm - a miracle! But that was due to no nap. Who wants a 1yo who doesn't nap?? This is not good for mat leave! My little boy was such a dream last time. I used to take them out to toddler groups and they'd both fall asleep on the way home and stay that way for 2 hours. I had a clean house!
Good luck with any scans impending.

Excited1203 · 23/08/2017 05:32

The fybogel worked for constipation but today I've moved on to gas, did anyone figured out what to do about that? I woke us both up at 3am from a volley of incredibly noisy farting. Since then I've stayed occupied by having 3 wees, 3 retching sessions, 1 snack and 2 more prolonged rapid-fire fart sessions. Where is all the gas coming from? I'm giving up on sleep now, will nap at 10.30am.

whyhastherumgone · 23/08/2017 07:54

@blinkin haha it was an experience to say the least. I am still recovering from going to the hen do and then seeing my folks on the sunday - i'm exhausted!

Good luck to @flatwhite31 and everyone having scans today - @dancingunicorn is yours today too?

I woke up and immediately prodded my boobs to make sure they were still sore only to find they're not as sore so when DH came in from the shower i was sitting up in bed poking my boobs repeatedly. It's all glamour isn't it? Grin

NorthernBelly · 23/08/2017 07:57

Hi everyone, sorry I've been quiet for so long. Nothing much happening here on pregnancy front apart from my massive belly!!! I've been in maternity jeans and leggings for about 2 weeks now and I'm only 11+4. I know it's me not baby, but none of my trousers or work clothes fit me any more. We are having building work done at the moment and we haven't had a kitchen for 12 weeks, so my diet has been less than brilliant. Looking forward to getting the house back and all the builders leaving!

Wingingitwithmonkeys · 23/08/2017 08:37

Lovely to hear your scan news @Banania, congrats!

Very best wishes @Flatwhite31 for your scan, and anyone else who's having their scan today. Thinking of you.

Glad I'm not the only one feeling snappy at the moment, not that I'd wish the full on grumps on anyone but it's reassuring.

@Excited1203 that sounds really tough going, hope the exhaustion and dizziness passes for you soon. Also have ridiculous amounts of wind, switches between burping and trumping. Such a lady Blush

The tiredness and nausea seem much more manageable for me this week, although we're away with DH's family in Pembrokeshire which is so lovely, and lots of help with the boys. Sea air and lots of opportunities for the boys to run around, just what we all needed. I found the first few weeks with having all three of them at home for the summer incredibly tough going with the nausea and exhaustion. But I'm definitely feeling more human now, which in my previous pregnancies hasn't happened until 16-20 weeks, trying not to worry and I'm just going with it.

@NothernBelly my belly is huge too! Clearly all bloat and food, I'm only 10 weeks, but I'm wearing maternity leggings a lot already as I really dislike anything digging in to my sizeable tum. When are your builders hoping to be finished?

Onceuponamama · 23/08/2017 08:45

Hi everyone, I had my booking appointment yesterday except it was not the booking after all just an introductory appointment and instead my real booking appointment is at home TODAY! (Talk about a false sense of security)

If anyone had their BP at home, did it take place in one room or did the mw need to inspect the whole house? (I want to be prepared as much as possible). House is still a builders site with no flooring installed!

@Northernbelly I know how you feel! Construction and pregnancy is awful.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 23/08/2017 08:48

@Onceuponamama I had my BP at home in my last pregnancy and they won't inspect your house, don't worry!

Minervamouse77 · 23/08/2017 08:57

Morning everyone!
Good luck for those having scans today. Mine is on Friday morning, I'm currently more excited than nervous but I'm sure that will change.
My tiredness has been so bad the last 10days but my boobs aren't as sore and I'm no longer so windy and bloated thankfully.
Has anyone else had problems with their sinuses? Mine are playing up but I'm not sure if it's a pregnancy thing or just one of those things.
I told my boss yesterday, I was really nervous about that. We have a massive year of exciting projects happening next year and to be honest I'm a bit gutted to know I won't be there to play my part and I wasn't sure how he'd react to that. Anyway he was awesome and just relieved that my announcement wasn't that I was leaving permanently. We then had a random conversation about all the toys he used to make for his daughter and how he misses doing that. I'm so lucky to have such great people in my life.

Flatwhite31 · 23/08/2017 09:16

Mmc at 9 weeks. How cruel. Absolutely devastated.

FuzzyOwl · 23/08/2017 09:18

So sorry Flatwhite. Thinking of you. Flowers Not sure if you have seen them before but there are some fantastically supportive threads and groups on the miscarriage boards on here.

ChaoticKate · 23/08/2017 09:20

@Flatwhite31 I'm so very sorry. Is there somebody with you?

Doublegloucester · 23/08/2017 09:22

mamasiz · 23/08/2017 09:29

blinkineckmum · 23/08/2017 09:34

Oh Flatwhite. I'm so sorry. Look after yourself xxx

This end I am bloody exhausted as after going to bed at 6.30pm my 1yo woke all night and 3yo has been up since 4.30am... (doesn't seem so bad now, sorry)...
