Might be a intrusive question but is anyone continuing to have sex? I'm 8+3 and midwife told me it's completely fine but I'm just really nervous! Could do with some advice as even though he hasn't asked or pushed I feel really bad for my partner

DancingUnicorn · 15/08/2017 19:52

Galloping I haven't been at all interested... until last night when it was all I could think about! Blush But we did some 'other things' rather than sex... Blush Blush

OrangeCloud18 · 15/08/2017 19:54

@Galloping we still do when I don't feel about to throw up on him haha
I was nervous the first time though

Remember when I said that I was better? Yeah scratch that... still off work. I had to reschedule my booking in blood tests.

Minervamouse77 · 15/08/2017 20:33

My sex life has stayed pretty normal apart from the nights when I've fallen asleep hours before him got told by the nurse to have a week off after a small bleed but we've got passed that now.

Excited1203 · 15/08/2017 21:34

Thanks very much @DancingUnicorn. I've added an auto-weeks calculator, if people just drag down from the cell above it'll calculate for us (people not on the list, make sure your EDD is 2018 not 2017, I updated the ones already on the list). I added some other columns as well, we don't have to keep them, we can change as needed.

My libido is shockingly low, we are still having sex but it's all a bit too sensitive. Ploughing on and hoping it'll get better soon!

In other news, my boss demanded that I tell him I'm pregnant today. He was inspired because I had a bit of a meltdown and resigned Blush. So he said I look sick and tired all the time, just like his wife did when she was pregnant, he's known me 15 years and I must just tell him. Oh well, working from home tomorrow.

lokelani · 15/08/2017 21:48

@Excited1203 I have told my director,. Anyway he was amazingly nice. And once you tell them you are 'protected'. All sorts of discrimination protection comes into play. Sickness taken due to pregnancy is recorded differently and can't be used against you, you can take paid leave for appointments and actually it makes it all round easier. Or I've found that anyway.

And no, we aren't getting down to it at all. Nothing has been further from my mind, and I'm sure DH isn't having any sexy thoughts at his wife crying and puking in the ensuite (5mins ago). I know he has missed me hugging him though (he smells, he doesn't but to me right now everyone and everything smells). So I've been making more effort to hold his hand at least! God that sounds awful, poor DH !

DancingUnicorn · 15/08/2017 21:50

Ah, well done Excited! And whoops about the 17 due dates. Seems beyond comprehension that it could be almost 2018!!!

Excited1203 · 15/08/2017 21:59

Thanks @lokelani, I'm a contractor so I don't get legal protections unfortunately. Anyway, he said I'm not allowed to resign for being pregnant, only work from home and work less. So there that. Not that it really helps with the chaos of all the extra work at the moment, but maybe it will help a bit that I can just dump stuff. At least he will cover if I can't have any lunch again (it was 5pm by that point, I had client meetings booked in for me right through until then, they were booked while I was in other meetings so I couldn't refuse).

Lots of things smell awful to me still, but luckily not my partner, he still smells lovely and gets lots of cuddles. Well, I did send him to the shower one day, but that was really needed!

Excited1203 · 15/08/2017 22:05

I removed one person who had a miscarriage. In a way it'd be nice to keep people's names as they were part of our group, but obviously we can't. I think there are 2 others on the list who told us that they miscarried too, but I'm not sure enough about the usernames, so if anyone can check and remove them please that'd be good. Thanks

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/08/2017 22:08

I need to update my due date to my official one of the 17th.. how do i do this? Xx

mrskitty15 · 15/08/2017 22:10

Can I add myself to the list please?

blinkineckmum · 15/08/2017 22:35

Hi all,
I've been away a lot this Summer, and am totally exhausted with it! So I haven't been able to keep up t=with the thread, but having been doing my best to dip in and out.
I am 9 weeks today, and planned to tell no-one really, but my mum guessed. I have been largely symptomless, but weirdly only now just starting to feel it - stretching, nausea, fatigue, huge appetite... I am starving all the time!
Galloping - there is no reason you shouldn't carry on having sex as normal. My partner isn't getting any as I am shattered and have no libido whatsoever.
The main reason I'm so tired though, is my one-year-old. She won't sleep! All the travelling has not helped, but she is something else! She won't wind down for bed, ever. She has just been doing somersaults in our bed for hours, and went to the loo 5 times before finally exhausting herself!
I am a teacher, and have the Summer off, which means lots of lovely time with my 3 year-old and his troublesome sister! I just wish we were spending more time at home to sort out her sleep. Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. I am so sick of having no evening!
My scan is on my first day back at work after Summer. Very nervous as I've had so few symptoms. I was the same with the first two, but this time my boobs are not even sore or growing.
Hope you are all well and a bit better rested than me!

Countdowntofour · 15/08/2017 22:47

I'll add my stuff to the Google apps thing when I'm on my laptop as i need an app to do it and it won't fit on my phone lol.
As for sex, no thanks. Literally no libido or desire to be close, I have zero inclination to even hold hands. Not nice for him but I can't help it!

I walked home (uphill) for ten mins a little while ago and every step I took felt like my calves were going to cramp up..had to keep stopping and slow right down. Anyone got any tips for avoiding leg cramps? Can't eat bananas but I'm sure I read somewhere that they help lol.

Bluebell93 · 16/08/2017 07:25

Thanks for doing the list @DancingUnicorn, I'll add myself later once I'm on my computer. There sure is a lot of us for March!

Slightly worried as my symptoms seem to have faded a bit, but I'm 9 weeks tomorrow so hoping that's to be expected. Still knackered though - mostly due to crazy dreams & nightmares all night!

Also have convinced work I need to work from home a day a week without telling them I'm pregnant, so at least am home today which takes the pressure off. Will be glad when I've had my 12 week scan and can tell everyone.

How is everyone feeling this morning? Hope you're doing ok @OrangeCloud18.

Scoobygang7 · 16/08/2017 09:00

Can't add my date date to the sheet as in my phone and it won't add it to the app. If someone could add it's the 8/3/18. Thank you

Doublegloucester · 16/08/2017 09:14

Thanks,dancingunicorn Smile

ChaoticKate · 16/08/2017 09:20

Morning all!
10+5 today and starting to feel much more human again. Boobs are still sore but the nausea has faded to kind of a low background level rather than the horrible waves of about to vomit sensation I had been getting. I'm feeling a bit less tired as well, which is nice. Still getting random pains in my groin and pelvis as well as in the base of my spine but they're not too bad at all. I have my harmony blood test booked for Friday and then my NHS dating scan on Monday so hopefully I've only got another week or so of having to keep it a secret!

I'm glad to see that a lot of people seem to be starting to feel better, I feel so sorry for those of you with HG - it sounds so awful.

Excited1203 · 16/08/2017 10:17

I've been feeling really sickly this morning. Stayed in bed and tried to update the spreadsheet from threads 2 & 3 with other people and dates, removed one more miscarriage. Sorry for anyone I missed or info I got wrong. If anybody else has time to go through and check that'd be great.

KerryLeanne84 · 16/08/2017 10:21

@Countdowntofour - tonic water helps with cramps - the quinine stops it somehow

KerryLeanne84 · 16/08/2017 10:23

@Galloping, I'm 10+6 and ZERO interest in sex here either

Flatwhite31 · 16/08/2017 10:41

Morning lovely ladies! I'm feeling quite a bit better today after a mammoth 11 hour sleep. I still have a swollen lymph node in my groin and there is a lump where the infection was, but it's just uncomfortable now rather than painful.

Pregnancy wise, my boobs have really started to hurt again! My 12 week scan is a week today. I got the first appointment of the day at 8.40, as I don't think I could stand waiting all day! I'm feeling nervous about it already.

@Excited1203 Thank you for doing the spreadsheet! That's really nice of you to do that . Good idea to stay in bed!

@ChaoticKate I got a few random pains yesterday, but like yours, they weren't too bad.

@Bluebell93 That's great you've managed to get one day a week working at home. I have to say I'm dreading going back to work, as full time primary teaching can be very stressful, and I don't want to feel stressed out while pregnant! I am just going to have to try and cut back a bit, as, like many teachers I go above and beyond my actual job all the time. Time to put ourselves and our babies first, right?!

As for sex, we are waiting until after 12 week scan as we are both too wary, even though we have been told it's safe! I just can't bear the thought of any bleeding afterwards, as I know it would freak me out. Also, having just had this infection and feeling like utter sh*t, sex has been the last thing on my mind! Lol. We are going on holiday to Italy in 11 days, so all being well, we will hopefully resume some sort of sex life then!

Excited1203 · 16/08/2017 10:49

@Flatwhite - I only did a few updates, @Dancing Unicorn did all the hard graft on the first version.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 16/08/2017 10:53

Thank you for the google doc, DancingUnicorn, I will have a look when I'm on my laptop.

I've lost track of my dates a bit, as my cycle is generally a bit weird so the usual dates calculation doesn't apply. I think according to my own estimate I am between 9 + 10 weeks, but according to dates I'm 11+1. Who knows... I'll know when I have the scan!

Nausea not too bad at the moment, but I'm still knackered! Good to hear about the reduction in symptoms from others on the thread - hopefully we're all heading towards the second trimester 'glow' Grin

Re sex, usually too tired for that! Occasionally get the urge, but I do worry I'm neglecting poor DH!

Flatwhite31 · 16/08/2017 11:15

Thank you @DancingUnicorn Smile

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 16/08/2017 11:41

Sex? What is that??

I don't even want to touch my DH at the moment, and he's still in shock that it's twins so I think the feeling is mutual! Grin
