Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 14/08/2017 16:54

Yep @BlueeSpottyTiger !

Ha thanks, it's probably the most random username I could of come up with

SheSaidHeSaid · 14/08/2017 17:02

Hi Jjpeston! Welcome and thanks for the reading recommendation, I'm going to see if my library has a copy or, if not, get myself one.

Flatwhite31 · 14/08/2017 17:09

Hi ladies! I'm typing this from my hospital bed, sigh! Have just had IV antibiotics through a cannula for this infection, and am now on fluids to try and bring my heart rate down (they think it's fast because of the infection). Nightmare! Of course, I'm worrying about the impact that all of this is having on baby, but nobody seems concerned which I guess is a good thing. Waiting to see a surgeon which worries me. I really don't want anything done under general as it is really risky in the first trimester (well from what I've read).

Sorry to hear some of you are suffering! My symptoms improved when I hit 9 weeks (I'm
11 weeks on Wed). Still got sore boobs and some food aversions, but the nausea isn't as bad. Of course, I then worry that means something is wrong, but I need to stop doing that! I guess it doesn't help that I'm currently in a hospital environment. 12 week scan is next Wed, doubt I'll sleep the night before!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 14/08/2017 17:26

Oh flatwhite poor you! :(
Sorry i must have missed it.. what infection do you have? Hope you get well soon xx

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 14/08/2017 17:27

Oh flatwhite that sounds rubbish. Flowers

lokelani · 14/08/2017 18:03

Get well soon flatwhite x

Countdowntofour · 14/08/2017 18:36

Get well soon @flatwhite , sounds horrible bless you.

Love that this a moaning-allowed area lol. It's all I feel like doing ;)

scottishem · 14/08/2017 19:50

Sorry you're feeling rubbish @Flatwhite31, but you're in good hands now!

Is anyone else having what I think is round ligament pain?? If I stand up too fast or twist too fast I get such a sharp pain/spasm in my groin/hip area. It goes after a couple of seconds but my god its sore! Literally can feel something inside me twisting and stretching!
Im only 8+5 so wasn't expecting it so soon but I have had lots of hip operations in the past so wondering if I'm feeling it a bit more because of that Hmm

Excited1203 · 14/08/2017 20:06

Yikes, hope they get you sorted out quickly @FlatWhite.

I've had the thing that might be round ligament pain too, trying to avoid it by moving a bit slower when I have to twist.

In up-to-the-second news, for any who recall the uncomfortable incident of the pregnant woman stuck in her bathroom late at night, my partner is finally fitting a new handle now!

Flatwhite31 · 14/08/2017 20:21

Thank you ladies! Thankfully I'm home now. @BlueeSpottyTiger I have an abscess which was just getting bigger and bigger, despite antibiotics! The pain was awful and the lymph nodes in my right groin this morning were aching.

A lovely doctor managed to drain it using a needle and a lot of pressure! No local anaesthetic or anything! It was AGONY, but I got through it without screaming or swearing lol. Just so relieved to be home!

Minervamouse77 · 14/08/2017 20:35

That sounds awful @flatwhite31 I hope you can have a restful day tomorrow.

lokelani · 14/08/2017 20:48

@Flatwhite31 glad you're home
@Excited1203 I'm excited for you!

It might have been discussed already. But seasick bands/pressure point bands. I don't know if anyone has tried them but I have been wearing them for 3 days and it's made a huge difference. I was already on meds for sickness but was still sick a lot each day. Since wearing them I've been able to do a lot more, somewhere near normal. Thought I'd mention for anyone suffering out there, as I was really dubious about them and wish I'd tried it earlier xx

Excited1203 · 14/08/2017 22:13

I spoke too soon and jinxed it. We now have a lock and no handle at all, the inner oojamieflip thingie is a bit bent so we need a new one. This is at least safe and therefore acceptable.

whyhastherumgone · 15/08/2017 08:36

@flatwhite31 how are you today?

@Excited oh dear hope you get it sorted

I'm having one of those days where i'm obsessing over my symptoms or lack of - has anyone else still not got many? I'm not sure i've really felt any stretching pains either and am 8weeks although i have had a few twinges - but mainly bloating and indigestion.

Now i've booked my scan for thursday i feel like this week is going to really drag but luckily i do have plans today and tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good day today

Flatwhite31 · 15/08/2017 09:03

Morning everyone!

Thank you for asking @whyhastherumgone. I'm feeling so drained (pardon the pun lol!) this morning. Thank god it's school summer hols, as I would be struggling at work. I've got a really achey lymph node in my right groin due to the infection, but that should start to go down now. I'm having a day at home today and will bake some banana bread .

Re stretching pains, I've had a few sharp twinges this morning. I wonder if that's them, or just indigestion? Haha!

@lokelani glad you're having relief with the sickness bands!

whyhastherumgone · 15/08/2017 09:47

@flatwhite31 make sure you take it easy, you've really been through a lot! I'm never sure what's stretching or indigestion either, I've had some really sharp pains on and off but they feel too high up to be stretching!

Eurgh I need talking down today. It's like booking the scan has suddenly sent me into a panic when I've been feeling okay about things - I suspect it's because I found out at a scan I'd had a mmc, so I probably associate scans = bad in my head. Need to keep myself busy so I don't think about it.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 15/08/2017 10:35

I hope you're better soon @Flatwhite31

@whyhastherumgone I can see why you're worried about your scan, I hope everything goes well (I'm sure it will!!) Flowers

SS81C · 15/08/2017 12:27

Glad you're home @flatwhite31 and things are improving. Lots of rest!!!

TeaAndPjs · 15/08/2017 18:00

Hey ladies. I've not been on in a while so will have loads to catch up on, hope you are all doing well. All good here, constantly exhausted but powering through. Had a private scan on Friday past and all is still progressing well.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/08/2017 18:11

Whyhasall I can totally understand that! Goodluck!
teaandpjs that's good news congrats on the scan

Xx

Fefifoefum · 15/08/2017 19:02

Oh flat, how awful! At least it should be sorted now! Flowers

Not been around much, lots of night shifts, it's all I can do to get to work and function! I've had to tell work as I was to sign a new fixed term contract until May, I was so nervous, but they were really lovely!

I'm less nauseous and vommy! Yay! Just past the 10 week mark and feeling much better in that department!

Flatwhite31 · 15/08/2017 19:12

Thanks for the lovely messages everyone. Have been absolutely exhausted today, so have taken it easy. Looking forward to an early night. Thankfully I'm in much less pain which is amazing!

Glad to hear you are feeling less sick @Fefifoefum. I started feeling less sick once I hit 9 weeks.

@TeaAndPjs great news about the scan Smile.

SunyBay · 15/08/2017 19:41

@whyhastherumgone I've not had many symptoms at all. Stretching/full feeling in the belly. A wee bit of nausea, often when I'm hungry and don't eat immediately, occasional lightheadness and sore breasts. Also tiredness. I'm tired a lot and have no energy. But I've not had morning sickness and can cope at work. Right now, I'm just tired (that's the one symptom that hasn't gone at all) and have a sore stomach. So not everyone is the same; some people feel dreadful in the first trimester or even all the way through the pregnancy, whereas others sail through. My dating scan is the first week in September (I'm 8+4 weeks). My mother had barely any symptoms when she was pregnant with me, too.

Hope everyone's feeling better!

DancingUnicorn · 15/08/2017 19:48

Sorry you've been having such a rough time of things flatwhite

So... I'm sorry. I promised this at the start of the thread, and then have been... well, exhausted! You know how it is. But here is a link to a google sheets doc, where we can update our own info etc. Please feel free to add extra categories/columns and things! It's very basic for now. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Tra-r4sPwYtKVvTs_2IbX2W7j_a80vQkBNrNcNvy7Rs/edit?usp=sharing

At the moment, it has about the first 50 people to join the thread, as beyond that things got a bit too difficult for me to keep up with. So I'm really sorry if you're not on it!!!

I believe if you are logged into a google account it will show your email address, so log out before you use it if you're worried about that. Otherwise I think it should be anonymous. If you're trying to edit from a phone, you will need the sheets app, but I wouldn't recommend really!
