zyla your dh soulds great. Mine has been similar, it's soo nice!
Had my first 'was it planned or is it a nice surprise' comment today, from someone I'm not even close to ffs. prepares for further inane comments people throw at pregnant women...

Doublegloucester · 13/08/2017 18:23

25th too here!.!

SheSaidHeSaid · 13/08/2017 18:38

I'm not getting any unwanted comments, just my MIL constantly touching my stomach despite me saying there's nothing there and backing away. Yesterday when she did it the first time that day I told her I didn't like it but she ignored me and carried on doing it, so annoying. Tried talking to my DH about it on the drive home from his parents and he just can't understand why I wouldn't want her to do it and basically told me to get used to it from people. Erm, no Angry.

SS81C · 13/08/2017 19:12

When we told my DHs nana with DC1 her response was
' Oh, well that wasn't planned was it!' And then totally changed the subject and started talking about her friend.
She did send us a lovely card.....i think she's just a bit traditionalist and we aren't married..... best just to practice your smile and nod with stupid comments.....

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 13/08/2017 19:23

Ugh, sympathies to all those dealing with various thoughtless comments!

Saw my sister yesterday and she not-so-subtly peered at my tummy to see if I was showing yet... at 8 weeks. Hmm Pointed out that my uterus is definitely still deep within my pelvis, so any 'bump' she sees is basically fat (no bloating here so far, thankfully) and I'd rather not have it remarked upon, thanks! She is really just v excited though so not really taking it as anything but wishful enthusiasm, bless her.

My nausea is totally the wrong way round this pregnancy - I feel fine first thing in the morning and basically until I eat, even if that's 3-4 hours after waking. It's only after that that I begin to feel queasy (and then it lasts the rest of the day, in waves). I have a foul taste in my mouth, which I had for far too much of my first pregnancy, and I suppose it is reflux, so perhaps it makes sense that it's only after eating that I feel it.
I probably ought to experiment with diet to see if anything bland enough doesn't trigger it... but given that while eating is the only time my mouth feels nice, I'm reluctant to avoid yummy food. Blush

1000jobstodo · 13/08/2017 19:45

My symptoms are trailing off a little.. I feel less sick, less tired, and my boobs are hurting the same but not stabby pains as before.
I can't remember last time when my symptoms (well 1st tri symptoms) decreased. Think it was about 10 weeks. This time it's only 8.5.
I'm bloody terrified! I know unless I see bleeding a&e would never scan me and I wouldn't ever take up their precious resource by going down there for decreasing symptoms.
But.. I wish I had a magic machine that could show me what was going on in there.
I'm still bloated, have a terrific sense of smell- to the point I can smell if someone is in the room by the smell in the room.
Do symptoms change?! Sorry others of you are suffering with bloated stomachs!

OrangeCloud18 · 13/08/2017 19:58

I woke up feeling more human! I am really hoping this is the end of me being sick. I am going to try to go back to work tomorrow. I have trapped wind and my boobs are really painful though but I'll take that over my hyperemesis any day.
I am 10+4 now.

Scoobygang7 · 13/08/2017 20:29

@SheSaidHeSaid randomly grab him in the balls every now and again if he complains tell him he needs to get used to it. Gah sorry it riles me something chronic when people think just coz you're pregnant it's grab a feel. It's not you've just as much autonomy over your own body as before.

They keep doing it rub their belly at the same time or just after see how they like it.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 13/08/2017 20:58

Glad you are feeling better @OrangeCloud18

I still feel naff 90% of the day. Really queasy from the second I wake up until around 3pm and then again from about 6 until I go to bed, I'm sure it's getting worse by the day - I'm 8 weeks tomorrow. Fingers crossed it doesn't last too much longer!

Has anyone else not contacted a midwife yet? It hadn't crossed my mind until this morning Blush

Jjpeston · 13/08/2017 23:03

Hey everyone. Expecting DC 2 in March - looks like 7th approx. Feeling nauseous and tired but nothing like as bad as last time.

Also - if anyone hasn't got a copy of Expecting Better by Emily Oster, the economist, get it now! I wish, wish, wish I had had it in my first preg, it informs you on the real numbers behind all the stats relating to pregnancy, and really puts your mind at rest on a whole host of things from miscarriage, to drinking, to coffee, sushi eating (yes, gorge yourself silly!) etc etc.

Scoobygang7 · 14/08/2017 07:08

@Sallywiththegoodhurrr I'd definitely ring today then you can get booked in and they can get your 12 week scan booked. The booking appointment is usually about an hour and a half.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 14/08/2017 08:15

@Scoobygang7 I left it really late with my other DC too - I must hate the midwife! Not really of course, I think it's because I have to ring round 10 different people trying to track the right one down URGH 👎🏻

I've woken up this morning and I don't feel sick for the first time in weeks. I should be happy but of course I'm worrying

BlueeSpottyTiger · 14/08/2017 08:27

Sally i didn't have my first mw appt with dd until i was 11 weeks! Because i was so scared to have a blood test 🙈 my scan was still 2 weeks later 👍

I either have D&V or just D as i can't tell because I'm already so sick but been awake pretty much all night with it..and inturn i woke dd up 4 times 😣 She's such a light sleeper! I was already really worried about dehydration because of all the vomiting im doing. Is there anything atall you can take when pregnant and breastfeeding???

KerryLeanne84 · 14/08/2017 09:35

@Jjpeston I'm reading it at the moment.... very informative! And though I know it's all about the acceptable risk, I have to say I wouldn't have any alcohol while pregnant no matter what she says - but then it is easier for me as I don't particularly love drinking anyway

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 14/08/2017 09:55

@BlueeSpottyTiger I'd think that dioralyte (is that how you spell it? Confused) would be okay to take to prevent/help dehydration but I haven't checked. I hope you're feeling better soon Flowers

hometownunicorn · 14/08/2017 12:26

@Jjpeston and @KerryLeanne84 I really loved Expecting Better too. My OH is currently reading it and enjoying telling me about various risks

@BlueeSpottyTiger hope you feel better soon

whyhastherumgone · 14/08/2017 13:54

Sorry to everyone who has had unwanted or unhelpful comments - we haven't really told anyone yet apart so probably have all of that to come.

Still no real sickness here - still get a bit of nausea if I'm tired and the tiredness doesn't seem to be getting better at all, if anything it's worse. I'm having to have a nap or I get a banging headache and feel like I could just drop on the spot.

My appetite is getting a little better, I'm managing mainly decent sized portions now instead of tiny ones, and I'm trying to make myself eat a bit healthier...will see how that goes!

Finally bit the bullet and booked a private scan for Thursday. Think I'm just not going to think about it til then because I don't feel hugely pregnant [although do have more symptoms than last time] and know that if I think about it too much I will talk myself into a panic!

Hope everyone who is suffering starts feeling better soon. I don't think I'm going to buy any books or anything until after the scan or 12 weeks - I did get a copy of Emma's Diary in with my midwife stuff though so might take a peek at that :)

mrskitty15 · 14/08/2017 14:17

@whyhastherumgone We have our private scan too on Thursday at 9+2. My nausea seems much better today so hoping things are starting to calm down as the thought of drinking all the water for the scan whilst feeling sick is not good. I ended up sick before the 12 week scan last time because of the combination of the nausea and all the fluids :(

Has anyone got any cravings yet?

The cravings with DD were Strawberries, Orange Fanta, Salt and Vinegar Crisps and Ice Cubes... Grin

lokelani · 14/08/2017 15:10

I really would like some Lilt but can I find the stuff!

Countdowntofour · 14/08/2017 15:19

No cravings, just aversions 😁 and weirdly when I've had enough I start gagging, even if its tasty food. Bizarre.
Today I've been deep cleaning my house with still two rooms to go, the kitchen is a complete bombsite and I'm having a break lol. Wiped all the skirting boards etc, and in doing so noticed alot of stuff that needs repainting due to little fingers 😑.
Pregnancy appears to be going okay, fairly hormonal though so emotionally up and down. Hardly anyone knows still so I have few people to moan to lol.

whyhastherumgone · 14/08/2017 15:35

Good luck @misskitty15 i think i should be 8+5 but not 100%
fingers crossed we both have good scans :)

@countdowntofour i'm the same that's why i love this group although then i feel bad if i'm moaning on here all the time!

lokelani · 14/08/2017 15:37

I can still hardly eat anything! Some fruit bread, but of cereal here and there, and fruit. I get the odd moment where I think 'I could eat that' like a chicken sandwich. But I've then spent the rest of the day (and the next) being more sick. So I'm keeping things simple for now.

Does anyone know what happens to your blood test results from booking in? Will they have them at the scan or do i need to call? Or is no news good news?

mrskitty15 · 14/08/2017 16:11

@lokelani Tesco sell lilt and Amazon seem to have packs of 24 cans available too. Lilt is yummy Smile

@whyhastherumgone Good luck for your scan too Smile

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 14/08/2017 16:18

I wish I hadn't of said my sickness hasn't come today EnvyEnvyEnvy

BlueeSpottyTiger · 14/08/2017 16:26

Lokelani they usually discuss them with you at the dating scan. Well they do in my area?
countdown you have us to moan to 🤗 all i do is seem to moan atm.

Goodluck for the scans coming up x

I ended up buying these. They taste absolutely rank but luckly I've kept it down.
