@Sallywiththegoodhurrr that's so exciting! And a bit daunting! But mainly really exciting! Congratulations Smile

@pusscous your experience sounds awful, glad you have managed to change Drs. I'd try to forget about that meeting and start a fresh with your new ob as soon as you can. How long have you been living in Europe? Have you got much support? I lived overseas for 7 years (before having kids) and I know it can be difficult being far from home and the people/things you know.

Feeling really sorry for everyone with HG and bad sickness. I'm feeling a bit rough and nauseous but it comes and goes and isn't anything to write home about. Roll on 2nd trimester for us all!

scottishem · 09/08/2017 18:36

Oh gosh @OrangeCloud18 you really have had it bad! Thanks for the tips, its just so disheartening when you feel ill from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep isnt it. Luckily OH is being very caring a supportive but works long days so feel like I'm going out my mind stuck in the house alone all day everyday and I'm hardly good chat when he's home.
Luckily my ketones levels haven't been too alarming yet hence no hospital visits but having regular urine tests.
GP was very kind and sympathetic he asked me "what would you like me to do to help you" and which point I just wanted to scream and cry "make it stop!!" So thats me on Cyclizine to see if it helps if not he said I can try other types failing that IV anti sickness.
I am surprised too at how many people are suffering from HG, when you read about it it sounds so rare!

scottishem · 09/08/2017 19:12

@banana101 having finally pulled my head out of the toilet this morning looking in the mirror at my dark circles and pregnancy acne skin I turned to my OH and said "I wonder when the glowing thing will start??" Haha Wink

SheSaidHeSaid · 09/08/2017 20:05

👋 hello to the new joiners

mamasiz · 09/08/2017 21:04

Sending lots of hugs to everyone feeling and being sick - I've been nauseous all day and my tum is all over the place due to antibiotics I started yesterday for a UTI. Laying on my bed right now feeling very sorry for myself - roll on week 12!

MrsW0812 · 10/08/2017 06:44

Morning ladies - how is everyone today?

After I came home from work on Tuesday i started to feel so ill and it's turned into a full on cold (sore throat, stuffy nose, painful face and head) - I took yesterday off work and was going to go in today but still feel rubbish.

One of my friends who I've told said to me i've got to look after myself and the little bean now - and that stuck in my head so staying at home today too.

I normally feel so bad for not going to work but having this little bean - it's putting a different perspective on things I guess.

On another note - has anyone else for pets? My dog has not left my side since the week before we got our BFP - I wonder if she knows????

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 10/08/2017 07:24

Thank you for the congrats.
I feel like utter crap! Really sick and headachey all the time. Plus loads of weird crampy, stretchy pains.

I suppose my body is getting ready to become the size of a house Shock

Sorry to hear quite a few of you have HG Flowers

Tigger83 · 10/08/2017 07:39

Morning all I'm around 9 weeks due on the 15th march. Can I ask is anyone getting a fluctuation in symptoms? My nausea is still there but not quite as intense and my boobs still hurt but no where near as bad as before. I've had a missed miscarriage and a chemical so my anxiety levels are high anyway.

I had a scan last week and strong heartbeat seen but I know that's no guarantee. Got harmony and another scan booked on 20th so keeping everything crossed till then!

ChaoticKate · 10/08/2017 07:43

@Tigger83 I'm 9+6 and my symptoms took a dip at the beginning of the week but returned in strength yesterday. They've fluctuated all the way through and I think that's quite normal. I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

whereareyousleep · 10/08/2017 07:58

I'm 9+3 and lots of my symptoms went end of last week and only show up every now and then.

SheSaidHeSaid · 10/08/2017 07:58

Morning!!

My symptoms go up and down Tigger. Sore boobs one day, nausea constantly some days but just mornings other days, had a headache for 4 days straight (thankfully it's gone today).

I guess it's just that things are going to start to slow down soon in terms of hormones and now is the time some symptoms can disappear.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 10/08/2017 08:40

@Tigger83 with my previous pregnancies my symptoms disappeared at 9 weeks each time and luckily didn't come back!

ZylaB · 10/08/2017 08:53

@Tigger83 I'm 9 weeks today and am having harmony test on the 19th!

Flatwhite31 · 10/08/2017 08:58

Morning ladies! Well I have been up all night with pain at the bottom of my coccyx, and it looks like an abscess is forming there! Have never ever had that before in that area! Embarrassingly, the other way of putting it is that it's right at the top of my bum cheeks. Cringe! It really hurts. The timing is rubbish, as my parents are visiting, and it's not exactly the type of thing you want to bring up in front of your mum and dad! They are heading out themselves later, so I'm going to give my GP a ring as I did have an abscess a few years ago (from an infected insect bite) that I stupidly left and it got so bad I ended up needing it operated on under general anaesthetic. I just can't risk that when pregnant, and it hurts to sit down already! Cringe.

Minervamouse77 · 10/08/2017 09:03

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Sympathies to all of you struggling with sickness, I'm going to stop moaning about my very minor symptoms now.
Compared notes with my mum this week and apparently she was the same when she was expecting me but she had really bad heartburn towards the end....something for me to not look forward to.

Excited1203 · 10/08/2017 09:35

I'm not having a good week. Finding the waterloo delays to be the proverbial straw. I'm just so tired, feeling sick and having diarrhea (with a bit of constipation at some point of each day to confuse me). After having Tuesday off I can't have another day. Going in late today, but I feel awful. My partner is getting upset about it all, he's missing having company in the evenings and we had a massive row because he was complaining about me "moping around looking sad all the time". I spent about an hour across the course of the day at work yesterday just crying in the toilets. Everything aches, my head hurts, my stomach is agony and I just want to be in my bed resting.

Excited1203 · 10/08/2017 09:54

Sorry for those with HG, I know you're all much worse off than I am. I'm just feeling crap.

KerryLeanne84 · 10/08/2017 10:43

You poor thing Excited, that sounds horrendous. There's always someone somewhere worse off but that doesn't mean you're not going through the mill and you have every right to be upset and hate it.

I'm sorry your other half is being less than understanding too. Can I suggest screaming I'M MAKING A HUMAN BEING FROM SCRATCH AND ITS INCREDIBLY TIRING SO F RIGHT OFF at him.

Re work - is it too early to tell your manager? Perhaps they'd let you change your hours or work from home some days?

whyhastherumgone · 10/08/2017 10:46

@excited1203 that sounds terrible - can you not see your GP and get signed off for a little while so you can get some rest? I was feeling terrible last week, really fluey with an upset stomach and general shatteredness and it only eased off when I shelved the work I was doing and pretty much took myself off to bed for two days.

It's so tough because there's the whole 'pregnancy isn't an illness' mantra which so many people trot out and while it's not on its own, the symptoms really can be!

SS81C · 10/08/2017 11:49

@excited1203 oh sweetie - get yourself to to The GP and get signed off or self certify for a week at least. There's lots to protect you when you're pregnant from a work perspective so your work can't get cross with you and you can't get in trouble for taking the time off. Do they know-someyimes it's worth telling them because as Kerryleanne says they might be able to accommodate some reduced hours or working from home. The more you run yourself into the ground the worse it's going to get.
I feel for you with the DH thing. My other half alternatives between being really grumpy that I'm tired and dont wanna do anything and mega supportive. He keeps laughing when i tell him im tired so i had words the other day. It does get better once you hit 2nd trimester.....i had SO much more energy after 12 weeks.

Oh @Flatwhite31 that doesn't sound fun. Hope the GP can sort it out.

Drizz · 10/08/2017 13:18

Hello all. Just popping in with sympathy for everyone suffering. @flatwhite that sounds awful. I'd get it seen to ASAP. I had one as a teenager and remember the pain and my dad has had two which knocked him for seven (but he's got terminal cancer, so is not in a good shape anyway).

I can't believe the number of HG sufferers here, it is not good. Really keeping everything crossed it will wear off for you all, once first trimester is over.

I am totally counting down til the end of first trimester as I am moving through a fog of exhaustion (combining dying father, first trimester and toddler with nightmares is a bit much). To make life more challenging my OH is abroad Monday-Thursday next week for work. Groan. Solo parenting of 2 kids plus pregnancy exhaustion. I've booked to work from home Tuesday and Thursday as I have no idea how I'll cope otherwise...

I see a fair few doing the harmony test, I am debating it still.

Excited1203 · 10/08/2017 13:41

Thanks all. I can't tell work until we've got past the scan and downs test so that we've told the rest of our families, it just wouldn't be right to. Scan is 2 weeks tomorrow, so I only need to make it 3 more weeks. I think it's the extra travel that's not helping, plus it's ridiculously busy at the moment. I'm not working tomorrow, supposed to go for lunch, I'm just clinging to that at the moment. My partner is trying to be supportive, he didn't mean anything bad by it, it's hard for him being lonely.

Excited1203 · 10/08/2017 13:43

@Drizz - that sounds almost impossible, I hope your kids are miraculously well behaved for you next week.

Flatwhite31 · 10/08/2017 15:23

Hi everyone! I rang the doctors and spoke to my lovely GP. Thankfully she was the 'duty doctor' this morning, so could see me straight away! I've been given flucloxcacillin (no idea if the spelling is right!) antibiotics 500mg 4 x a day, so it's a hardcore dose! However, she said they are completely safe in pregnancy, so I'm not worried in that respect. Feeling so relieved I've got them, as I was really worrying about it getting worse and worse over the weekend. My temp was 37.5, so not high, but certainly starting to climb a bit. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quickly. She said that being pregnant makes us more susceptible to things, which is possibly why this has appeared!

SS81C · 10/08/2017 16:36

Great news @flatwhite31....glad you've been able to nip it in the bud.....fingers crossed it gets better quickly x
