Great news starshine what a great pic x

KBTR · 04/09/2017 07:30

Love seeing all the scan pictures, waiting to get our appointment through.

Back to work for me today, I work in a school, it's been quite nice having 6 weeks off and during the time finding out I was pregnant. And not working has been really useful for the fatigue!

Hoping that working will help take my mind off how tired I am, even if I do come home and crash later 😊

Aspenn17 · 04/09/2017 10:06

Just had my scan, feeling all over the place. It was twins, but they could only find one heartbeat, the 2nd twin was the healthy one and it looked great, strong heartbeat growing perfectly, the other looks as though it stopped growing around 4 weeks. Feeling such a mix of emotions, so so incredibly lucky that we have a healthy one and I know I need to focus on that, but still feeling sad about the 1st twin. Has this happened to anyone else? Really hoping I don't have a bleed. Feel like this is going to make me more anxious about the healthy one now! x

itsgoingtoofast · 04/09/2017 12:03

@Aspenn17 I'm so sorry to hear that. I can only imagine the mix of emotions you are feeling right now. I have no experience of similar I'm afraid, but have experienced losses in the past so understand the anxiety you are feeling. Were you given any guidance or information? Take care Flowers

MrsDneedsaB · 04/09/2017 12:37

Oh @Aspenn17 that's a tough thing to go through, definitely a bittersweet moment for you. How far along are you now?
I know of women that have gone through this but hadn't found out until they'd had a bleed and told that they just miscarried the twin but other people is perfectly fine and healthy.
Did you have two sacs or just one? If you had two I would prepare for some bleeding as it has to come out at some point.

Hopefully you've been given some sort of guidance on this - maybe it's worth checking the miscarriage/bereavement forum to see if anyone has gone through something similar?

Sunshinesaz86 · 04/09/2017 12:40

Sorry to hear that aspen I've heard of similar scenarios happening before but jo advice or experience. I'm sure your emotions are all over the place as they're bound to be.

What have the professionals said will happen now? I hope your doing ok and they are giving you support and any information you need to know. X

Aspenn17 · 04/09/2017 12:55

Thanks everyone. Bittersweet really is correct. At work now but eish I was at home.

They didn't give me much info tbh it was very much all focusing on the healthy baby. They are in separate sacks, the ultrasound lady said that there might be bleeding but it's very common for it to just be absorbed back into your body this early on so hopefully none. Thought I was 7+4 (but that was a bit of a guess) she thinks I'm more like 6+5. The one that didn't make it was 1st apparently and the healthy one implanted 2nd so I'm feeling so blessed that 2nd egg came about, makes healthy Bean seem like a little miracle. The scan pic was really good as well. If we'd waited until 12wk scan we probs would never have known.

Just want to be able to be happy and enjoy being pregnant but feeling really emotional and anxious!

MissYeti · 04/09/2017 13:33

I'm so relieved! My scan went perfectly! Baby's measuring exactly right at 6+6 and the tiny heartbeat

Thought I'd add my scan, this was last week, bang on 8 weeks, I'm now 9+1, finally caved and got the ovia app again. First gp appointment is Thursday so hopefully have my 12 week scan sorted soon. This is passing scarily quickly! I'm nearly a quarter way through! Eeek! Fingers crossed we all have sticky healthy beans.

That's great news missyeti & great pic suzi somedays I think it's going quick and other days I'm not so sure.

Hope your first day back goes ok KBTR. Your days will probably start flying by now your back. But tiring I'm sure x

MrsDneedsaB · 04/09/2017 15:05

I'm fine with this but flying by, getting to the "safe zone" is my goal at the moment and wish it would just hurry up - especially when I've got more bleeding and cramping (I don't think this pregnancy will ever be uneventful lol)

2 more weeks and the first trimester will be over!

MrsDneedsaB · 04/09/2017 15:06

Aren't we going to need to start a second thread soon? Does anyone know the message limit?

Never been on a thread until the end of it!

Sam91TRS15 · 04/09/2017 15:48

aspen, I'm so sorry about the 1st twin, I think you need to take the time to grieve for your little one - it is still a loss. But I am so happy for miracle twin number too and hope things go smoothly for this one!
I thought I had an empty sac, and although the consensus is its a cyst, I still felt a little sad for what I thought was a vanishing twin, but I also took it as my mmc baby popping by to say hi - if that makes sense.
Congrats on the scans also!
mrsd I'm sorry to hear about your cramping and bleeding, will they give you another scan if you phone them? Have you always had cramping with the bleeding?
I'm not sure about the number, I assumed maybe it would go up to 999, so maybe best we start a new thread!

crispydumpling · 04/09/2017 16:18

@aspenn17 that happened in my first pregnancy - when my son was born there was an extra bit of the placenta there but the rest of the other baby had been completely reabsorbed.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 04/09/2017 17:11

Been a bit absent in this thread so far but after some red spotting on Thursday I was at the EPU this morning to see my wee buns heartbeat! All measuring ok at 6+5 and it makes it feel a bit more real now Grin

Been not to bad symptom wise, bloated belly to rival my DH beer belly and some morning/evening sickness - boob pain in finally subsiding a bit thank goodness!

Hey everyone not been on here for a while and so much to catch up on 😊 I'm almost nine weeks and going for a scan tonight 😁

boatrace30 · 04/09/2017 17:23

I think it is 999 or 1000.

@Aspenn17 - so sorry about the lost twin, must be such a strange mix of emotions. Flowers

boatrace30 · 04/09/2017 17:24

And great news about all the other scans Smile

Aspenn17 · 04/09/2017 17:24

Thanks everyone- it's been a bit of a rollercoaster day! So weird to be sad, happy, guilty, nervous, shocked, relieved all at the same time. @crispydumpling hearing positive stories like your makes me feel a little better, thanks! Really don't think this has helped the anxiety though, considering booking in another scan at 9 weeks, don't think I can wait until 12, or am I being excessive? DH thinks I'm being silly.

Congrats on all your scan pics, so exciting! Going to try and keep positive on this thread and focus on the healthy Bean! Appreciating it EVEN more now! Smile

Did you all hear Kate and Wills are expecting a baby? I've read it's thought to be an April baby!

Aspenn17 · 04/09/2017 17:30

@crispydumpling I meant positive as in your son was fine and no bleeding. Sorry that sounded a bit odd when I read it back to myself!

Sam91TRS15 · 04/09/2017 18:15

I thought about having another scan after my 8 week scan so you aren't being silly! It's as addictive as POAS. Just more expensive..
If you can afford it and it reduces your stress I think it's really beneficial

Thelostsock · 04/09/2017 18:40

@Aspenn17 sorry to hear about the twin but congratulations on the healthy second. Definitely get another scan if you need it, I was thinking the other day if I worked in a hospital I'd be sneaking scans every day if I could!!

olicat · 04/09/2017 18:41

aspen Not silly at all, I am debating another one too! 2 of my colleagues have had mmcs so I feel like I want to be aware of what's going on in there all the time. Sorry you had such a bittersweet experience today x

olicat · 04/09/2017 18:43

Also schnaffle How are you getting on? Sorry your scan was worrying. X
