@thelostsock - I'm 10 weeks now and there's a hard little bit appearing above my pubic bone - think that's the little bubba! Yay! Can't wait to have a proper little bump.

Poppyandpeaches · 31/08/2017 09:27

@MrsDNeedsaB I had heavy bleeding for the first 8 weeks with my first and have a happy healthy two year old :) I couldn't believe you could bleed that much and still be pregnant! Keeping my fingers crossed it is the same for you. Could they see a reason for the bleed on the scan? Nothing obvious on my scans at 5/6 weeks then at 8 weeks they could see a big black area that was a "leaking capillary" which explained it all xx

Poppyandpeaches · 31/08/2017 09:28

Oh and I found the same with EPU, they waited a week between scans

MrsDneedsaB · 31/08/2017 10:33

@Poppyandpeaches it's crazy isn't it that you can bleed and all still be a-ok! They couldn't see a reason for the bleed and didn't really offer up any possible solutions - I guess it's just "one of those things".

It's not even been like a period either, it's just been like blood for maybe two toilet trips and then a bit of spotting afterwards for about it a day. It's just an odd literal rush of blood. The one on Saturday I literally thought I'd peed myself Blush so glamorous!

itsgoingtoofast · 31/08/2017 11:12

Oh I'm excited to hear that a few of you are starting to feel a bit better around the ten week mark. The last few days have been horrendous for me. 9+2 today and possibly feel a little bit better. Hard to tell though as do progressively feel worse throughout the day generally

MissYeti · 31/08/2017 12:45

Happy birthday to me! Nugget's present? First puke of the pregnancy. Not bad for 6+2 I guess 😭😭😭

Thecomfortador · 31/08/2017 13:45

Happy birthday MissYeti sorry you're sick. Nice of baby to remember though. Hopefully that wasn't the only present you had. Cake

FairfaxAikman · 31/08/2017 14:19

I'm seven weeks today and still no symptoms

Aardvark747 · 31/08/2017 14:27

Hello all! Really interesting following everyone's experiences. Had the first scan yesterday - 9 weeks 3 days now. Waking up feeling fine but the sudden tiredness soon hits before leaving the house, plus a lot of feeling overwhelmed with it all, though that passes just as quickly as it comes. Really quite amazing experiencing all these different feelings, and seeing the bean for the first time yesterday was something special!

MrsDneedsaB · 31/08/2017 14:29

Oh happy birthday @MissYeti as horrible as puking is, it is nice at least to have that solid knowledge that nugget is in there!

Fairfax on the other hand let's just hope you are one of the lucky few who doesn't get many symptoms and feel crappy - I've heard if your first trimester wasn't terrible that your second can be a bitch. I for one am hoping that's not the case as my symptoms have been pretty mild - they're definitely there but mild all the same

Aspenn17 · 31/08/2017 15:42

Happy Bday @MissYeti!

I'm 7wks today and my sickness has started over the past couple of days, I don't feel like I'm actually going to throw up, just constant waves of nausea, very like feeling car sick! No appetite at all.

Quick question- anyone planning on having the harmony test? If so are you planning on opting in or out of finding out the sex?

MrsDneedsaB · 31/08/2017 16:08

I quite want to do the harmony test @Aspenn17 and it would be just as much about the screening as it would be the gender reveal for me. I don't do surprises very well so I am definitely going to find out!

Don't know if I can justify the £400 yet though...

OuiMerci · 31/08/2017 16:50

Serious Chinese food craving. I need salt and chilli chicken and spring rolls. The only Chinese restaurant that delivers to us is awful though!

Sitting on my hands not to order anyway 🙈

Jenacles · 31/08/2017 17:48

Happy birthday missyeti! Flowers

boatrace30 · 31/08/2017 17:51

Happy birthday @MissYeti
Not planning on the harmony test here though if screening results were high risk from 12 week scan I would.
Not planning to find out the sex at all.

Urge, DH and I went out for a curry last night (rare treat with a toddler). Big mistake. My stomach has been so upset all day 🙁

Crapbags · 31/08/2017 20:40

Happy birthday @Missyeti Flowers

Can I ask what is the harmony test?

boatrace30 · 31/08/2017 21:10

It's basically a blood test and they can separate the babies DNA and yours and then screen for genetic conditions with very high levels of certainty. It's only available privately and costs £400-600. They can also tell you the sex and you can have it from 10weeks

Crapbags · 31/08/2017 21:28

Ah ok thank you @boatrace30 I'll have to look into that as my DS does have a genetic condition which has a 1 in 4 chance of re-appearing with this baby too. If it is something that can be tested for early it might be something I'd consider.

MissYeti · 31/08/2017 21:50

Thank you ladies!! Spent the day in bed/the bath. Its amazing what hot water can do!! I'm dreading going back to uni in a weeks time if I'm feeling this rough :(

Sam91TRS15 · 01/09/2017 07:18

I hope you had a lovely birthday missyeti and you sickness went away!
I am 9+4 today and vomiting has arrived with a vengeance! Twice last night, twice this morning. Nothing in my stomach so even worse than usual Sad, I thought I was having a nice nausea only pregnancy...

olicat · 01/09/2017 08:56

Hb yeti ! We're nearly through another week 😁

LivLemler · 01/09/2017 09:40

Morning all. I'm 8 weeks and feeling miserable with a cold. Wish I could take some day nurse! On the upside, it is distracting me from the nausea...

Must read about the Harmony test. I'm in NI and it seems they don't do any of the screening stuff at the 12 week scan, it's just for dating. Such a load of bollocks. Might contemplate a private NT scan, or Harmony. Or just hope for the best, I think that's the way DH is leaning.

Have a private scan booked on Monday when I'll be 8+4, just for reassurance. Then have my booking appointment the following week when I'll be 10+1, but I don't think my scan will happen that day, think I'll need a separate appointment.

MaderiaCycle · 01/09/2017 10:24

How many of you are having reassurance scans? OH wants to tell people - especially as we are bringing forward our wedding ceremony (due to get married 31st March, baby due 13th April so having a ceremony for immediate family on 4th November and going ahead with big fat Scottish ceilidh on the original date). I don't really want to tell anyone as my scan isn't until 2nd October (currently 8w gone) but he wants to check everyone can make it before we pay the full balance on the ceremony.

Torn between a) just telling people b) getting a real assurance scan maybe next week and then telling people c) holding off till 2nd October.

LivLemler · 01/09/2017 10:35

It's a very individual thing I guess Madeira. Congratulations on your engagement by the way!

We've told our parents already. We'll tell our siblings (and obviously their partners, and BIL's kids if he so chooses) after our 8 week scan next week.

We're planning on holding off telling everyone else until we've had the 12 week scan. A large part of the reasoning for that is that my BF is expecting her first after several miscarriages - if we are unlucky I don't really want to tell her while she's so happy after such an ordeal to get to this point. And I don't want to tell people before I tell her! Not even particularly happy about telling my sister as we aren't close but my parents are being awkward about it.

MaderiaCycle · 01/09/2017 10:41

My sister is pregnant too after 3 years of trying - it took us from mid June and my last period was beginning of July - so a bit embarrassed about it all. The only people invited to the wedding are parents and siblings and my gran. Just nervous in case anything goes wrong for me or my sister!
