I have a private scan booked for tomoro madeira I'll be 9+1 I had a MMC back in Feb found out at 12 week scan. HB stopped at 8+4 I didn't have one with my DS though. But this time I just didn't want to wait a whole 12 weeks.

The only people I've told is my twin and two best friends. We didn't want to tell family as they'd only worry after last time, so if all is well tomoro we may decide to tell them before the dating scan which we have booked for 21/9.

Congrats on the wedding. X x

FairfaxAikman · 01/09/2017 11:08

Think I may have had a wave of nausea (7+2).

Initially was confusing it with extreme hunger i think.

Poppyandpeaches · 01/09/2017 11:53

Ok help. My hands have already started to swell - I'm not too worried about that in itself as I had swollen hands/carpel tunnel for most of my first pregnancy. But that was before I was married! Should I take my rings off now? I'm scared they'll get stuck!

MaderiaCycle · 01/09/2017 12:06

Maybe take them off and put them on a necklace? You don't want to get to the point where they are painful or worse need cutting off!!

Poppyandpeaches · 01/09/2017 12:30

@Maderia that's what I'm worried about! Typical, I waited months to wear my wedding ring and now I have to take it off again!

Sam91TRS15 · 01/09/2017 13:32

Hi girls - I need a little advise. I have now been sick 14 times since midnight, I can't eat or drink anything, it all just comes straight back out. Sorry if tmi... I have left a voicemail with the midwife to call me back, but I haven't heard anything.
I'm 9+4, do you think this could be start of HG? Ive never had it before, although my sister has but Hera started at 5 weeks.
Should I hold off calling nhs24? Online suggests calling after 24hrs of this but it's horrible - I cant do a thing, if I get up the sickness comes back much quicker Sad

MaderiaCycle · 01/09/2017 13:42

Can you access your doctor or a walk in clinic? Keep drinking water even if it tiny sips (it will stay down better and be less likely to bounceback up)

MrsDneedsaB · 01/09/2017 14:20

Oh @Sam91TRS15 how horrible for you!
I would've thought 9+ is too late for HG but everyone is different. As Madeira says, try and lie in the comfiest position you can and take small sips of water.

Even if it was food poisoning they'd rarely do anything before 24 hours, if it gets any worse or you feel faint / dizzy / feverish / delirious I would call 111, they're always there for advice and will let you know the best course of action.

Hope you start to feel better soon and it's not HG!

MrsDneedsaB · 01/09/2017 14:26

Also to be fair Sam my nausea has ramped up in the past couple of days - so i guess it could be possible that it's HG

Poppyandpeaches · 01/09/2017 14:41

@sam oh no that sounds horrible! Might be worth seeing if your GP will do a phone consultation? I was prescribed anti sickness tablets with my first, only needed them between 8 and 13 weeks so hope it doesn't last too long for you!
All I can suggest is resting as much as you can. My sickness is so much worse when I'm tired

Sam91TRS15 · 01/09/2017 14:48

Thank you for all of the replies, the midwife called back saying the amount I've been sick is excessive and told me to phone gp, so currently waiting on that. Not that I can physically get out of bed so I hope a phone consult will do. If not the midwife suggested ringing the maternity hospital if no luck with gp. My back is in absolute agony top, I think it's just all this lying about doing nothing..
The midwife suggested anti sickness drugs. Poppy, did you find they worked and had no adverse affects on your lo? I work in research so I know a lot about issues with drugs for anti sickness - although how I feel now takes a lot of those fears away - I can't have this everyday!
It was so sudden, before this I have only been sick a couple times, and it's been easier than first time around.
I guess it's my own fault for wishing for morning sickness Sad

Poppyandpeaches · 01/09/2017 15:14

@Sam is there any chance you have a fever? I had back pain and excessive vomiting and it turned out to be a kidney infection (not while pregnant). Anti sickness tablets stopped me throwing up and took the edge of the nausea so I was able to eat a little bit. And baby was absolutely fine. I think with any medications they weigh up the potential risks vs. benefits and give you the safest possible option

Sam91TRS15 · 01/09/2017 15:32

Just checked temp - 36.3 so nice and normal so I don't think so. I think the aching all over is due to bed rest and the constant retching. Hadn't thrown up in a while, so even though still feeling horribly nauseous, I took some calpol and some water for my headache and that's straight in the bucket..
And whilst nipping to get calpol I missed the doc calling.. So I have to wait for them to call back again Angry

Poppyandpeaches · 01/09/2017 16:01

@sam that's good news that you don't have a fever. Hope the doc comes back to you soon and offers some help!

fitbitbore · 01/09/2017 17:54

Well I thought my symptoms had died down then I puked at work and I only want to eat beige good again 😢

Sam91TRS15 · 01/09/2017 18:01

Oh fitbit I'm sorry! That sucks!
I am feeling the best I have today, which is generally nauseas but I'm looking forward to some food so that's a step in the right direction! I haven't been sick in hours, I put seabands on about 4 hours ago, and I have only been sick once in that time (after swigging a load of water so I can't be surprised but I was so bloody thirsty!), so I don't know if it is that which has worked or if it was a weird 12h bug. But I'm keeping down coke which has settled my stomach and my headache isn't so bad with the hydration! I def recommend trying the seabands - this is the second time wearing them this pregnancy and the nausea/sickness defo seemed to get better each time.
DP will collect my anti-sickness tablets, but I think I will hold off on them if these bands are keeping away the worst of it

MissYeti · 01/09/2017 18:14

sam sorry you're feeling rough :( hope you feel better/get some answers soon!
Fairfax yay finally! Its nice (in a not so nice way) to have some reassurance that bean is there

Had toast for breakfast and lunch today..then napped for two hours cuz felt poorly then had cheesy pasta and some birthday cake for dinner!! I was worried I wouldn't be able to eat any of my cake :(
Struggling to tell the difference between nausea and hunger at the moment

JammyC · 01/09/2017 20:18

sam that sounds awful I hope you're feeling better soon

I had to go to a work event today. Sun shining, free bar. Lots of people egging me on to drink. I pretended to have a hangover from the night before and sipped about half a kopperberg to avoid raising suspicions. I feel so guilty now. I'm 5+4 so hoping that I've not done too much damage? I feel like I'm letting DC2 down already as with DD I was t total from the bfp. Wedding to go to tomorrow with close friends who will blatantly guess if they see me sipping soft drinks. Argh just want to tell people!

Please don't hate me for the booze today, I'm feeling wretched about it already Blush

boatrace30 · 01/09/2017 20:25

@JammyC - please don't worry. Small amounts of alcohol are fine in pregnancy and there have certainly been no studies to prove otherwise. And while I wouldn't recommend this I got very drunk with DD at 5w as thought I'd had my period and wasn't pregnant (in fact it was bleeding which continued to 9weeks) and I felt awful for ages that I'd been drunk.
DD is completely fine and according to two year review at nursery today exceeding expectations for communication!! (Proud mummy)!

@Sam91TRS15 - sounds like you've had an awful couple of days. Maybe it was a bug? Or do you think it was pregnancy related?

Sam91TRS15 · 01/09/2017 20:35

Thanks jammy and boat - I am hoping it's a bug, I have to finish up at uni and start writing my thesis and I can't do that rolled up in bed all day every day Sad. Took the cyclizine (?) I was given and after a few hours of no sickness and feeling good enough to eat I have thrown up twice! So won't bother with them!

Jammy, please don't worry about the cider - loads of people won't know they are pregnant then and I bet this happens so often! I had a fee sips of champagne at my friend's wedding last week and was on a hen do a few days before getting BFP! They used to tell women to drink Guinness.. Smile

LPMD · 01/09/2017 21:01

Hey guys, just to let you know that if you're interested in joining the Facebook group, please DM me your email and I'll add you in x

MaderiaCycle · 01/09/2017 21:14

So we went for a reassurance scan so we can start shotgun wedding planning! Everything is good. Saw little heartbeat and little leg buds. Am 8+3 approximately but will know more at 12 weeks. Roll on 2nd October. Going to tell both sets of parents over the weekend so wish us luck!

olicat · 01/09/2017 21:23

sam you poor thing sounds rough!

jammy - totally agree with the others that half a kopparburg will be fine. I reckon at the wedding insist on getting your own drinks and just get a tonic with a wedge of lime or something.

maderia congrats on the scan, I have mine tomorrow (7 weeks) and am so excited and very nervous!

Polliver · 01/09/2017 22:30

I have been so unpleasant to DH tonight. Like complete, out of control super bitch. I can feel that what I am doing is wrong but I can't stop, I will go from feeling normal to being suddenly full of rage Sad

starsshinebright · 02/09/2017 06:15

I've got my 12 week scan date! 20th September. Seems so long away still!
