If you're looking to meet people specifically in your area then my sister recommended the mummysocial app. She met lots of her local friends that way. There's also mush app which does the same thing.

Hi Ladies, hope you don't mind another new comer! I'm 21 weeks tomorrow- with a due date of 28th Feb. Everyone keeps checking its not a leap year!!

This is my first pregnancy and we are having a boy!!! As he was conceived though IVF I've already had 6 scans (20 week scan was last Wed).

nicc congrats on a little boy, how lovely for your other ds!

I'm not doing too bad here, feeling the heartburn kicking in now but I'll take that over the first trimester sickness any day! 23w4d here and time seems to have picked up now and the weeks feel like they are flying! It felt like it went soooo slow for the first 20 weeks!

Have any of you ladies started buying any of the bigger items yet? Like pram, cot, baskets etc ?

Ava Still haven't dragged DH out pram shopping but it's coming! We have nearly everything else.

We have a few things from dc1 and dc2 but not much in the way of the big purchases as they went through the mill a bit with two babies! So need replace pram, cot etc sooo expensive!

We're reusing practically all the big stuff (car seat, icandy, Moses basket, cot...). I'm itching to do some shopping but we're mid-house renovations so it's probably a good thing I don't have much to buy!

My list is fairly boring, new mattress, bedding etc. Weirdly my DD is very excited about going to pick a changing mat for her new sister so that's on the list too!

Could I please be added to the Facebook group too (not sure what info you need). My second DC is due Feb 3rd and my first will be 2yrs 3mths by then. Is anybody else worried about jealousy in a sibling?

I'm a little bit worried @MilkyMess but I think a bit of jealousy at the beginning is to be expected. I've got a feeling DS will be a good brother so fingers crossed.
We've been reading him a storybook about the new baby arriving and I plan to get him to choose a little gift for his sister. We'll probably get something from her to him too.

@nicc1000 The book was Topsy and Tim, The New Baby. I happened to pick it up in a charity shop but I noticed this week that my local library has a lovely book box with books to support children through difficult times and some of those were about a new baby. Maybe try your library?
