Loxy have you signed up to babycentre.co.uk? They send you weekly emails which I found really informative with my first child. They carry on until toddlerdom too. I'm pretty sure they are uk centred.

pretzelpieces · 05/09/2017 18:29

Just caught up! I'm looking forward to finding out the sex prediction at the 20 week scan. I'm hoping it'll make it more concrete having a bit of extra information as I don't really feel connected to this baby yet.

Clarel146 · 05/09/2017 18:52

Hi all! I'm a latecomer to the group but would love to make a few virtual friends! I'm due 24 Feb with my first (a boy) x

Tortoise22 · 05/09/2017 19:26

Hi clare and other newbies!

I'm anxiously looking forward to our scan on Monday, to hopefully find out everything is ok and we want to know the gender for similar reasons to you garden.

I'm so sick of ppl telling me it's "such a shame" that we are finding out though! I knew my mum would say this but seems that everyone at my work agrees with her too, As if we are spoiling everyone's fun or something?! Has anyone else had this reaction?

I'm already sick of everyone having an opinion on every aspect of pregnancy and parenthood! Sorry for the moaning it just seems that the past couple of weeks, ppl don't want to talk to me about anything other than the fact that I'm preggers.

Gardenaddict · 05/09/2017 21:27

Tortoise my MIL has asked that we don't tell her the gender before the baby arrives... Even though she knows we know.

Melody85 · 05/09/2017 21:56

@Tortoise I'm completely with you, the 'oh why don't you want to wait for a surprise?' Question is really annoying me!! Firstly, it's none of your business. Secondly, it's still a bloody surprise at 20 weeks!! Grrrr!!! Although I'm finding everything and everyone really annoying at the moment! Ha anyone else got a really short fuse?? I really hope it passes as I'm a proper misery guts at the moment!!

Tortoise22 · 06/09/2017 09:01

Melody I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm thinking that if these people ask us what it is after we find out I'll say "oh I thought you didn't want to know?!" I'm feeling the irritation too!

Garden I don't think I could cope with that!!

Sah2241 · 06/09/2017 13:26

We actually had a sneaky gender scan this morning and found out we were having a girl. We decided to find out because my daughter is desperate for a sister so we knew if it was a boy she would need a bit time to get used to the idea. The good news is that it WAS a surprise, and I don't feel at all like I'll be missing out when she is born!!

Loxy4527 · 06/09/2017 19:04

snozwanger I think I was early on but unsubscribed because I was paranoid at getting an email pop up at work back when they didn't know, haha. Yeah I get loads of info from apps and websites etc I guess I was just expecting a bit more personalised advice from the midwife.

Went for my first little run since before I got pregnant just now - well, alternating jogging and walking to ease into it. Felt really really weird. I didn't think having a tiny bump would feel much different to pre-pregnancy but boy did it. Warmed down with a little pregnancy friendly yoga routine, that was nice :) glad I'm getting active again. Definitely can't see myself doing random five mile runs on a whim like I used to just yet though. Gonna take it slow.

Hello newcomers! I just want to say I'm so sorry for not posting on here for a while. It's been a super busy few weeks. My daughter turned 3 and I've been getting her ready to start nursery school. I've also been totally shattered. Anyway, there is anyone else who wants to join the secret Facebook group please let me know because I'm back on the case!

Same here, would like to join :)

Ash75454 · 08/09/2017 14:42

Me too. What info do you need.

pretzelpieces · 08/09/2017 17:35

I think you just PM her with the email address you use to sign in on Facebook :)

Pinkandwhite · 11/09/2017 16:29

Using email addresses to add people to the group is only working about 50% of the time but I've sent invitations to everyone who messaged me with their email address. If you don't get an invitation please let me know and I'll figure it out!

Ava1985 · 11/09/2017 20:18

Hi everyone

Sorry been AWOL for a while! Hope all your ladies are doing well? How are the bumps coming along?!

I have whooping cough jab booked in this week at almost 18 weeks, I didn't have this until into third trimester last time. Has anyone else had it yet so early on?

Anyways all going well here so far and nausea/sickness finally let up around the 15/16 week mark like some of you ladies predicted Smile feel much better now and having a few flutters! Also heard heartbeat and have 20 week scan in just over a couple weeks Smile X

lookatthemoon · 11/09/2017 21:39

Tortoise & others who have received bad comments about finding gender - in my ante natal class for last pregnancy we were one of the only couples not finding out and the midwife (nicely) suggested that was very 'quaint' of us 😂 that was in Australia.

I actually didn't have the whooping cough vaccine last time Ava as there was a shortage and none avail. So I think I had to have it after the birth. Good luck! Smile

TriJo · 12/09/2017 08:59

That reminds me I need to ring and make an appointment for my flu jab, saw on the window of a local chemist that it's available and I'd prefer to get it ASAP given that I commute in close proximity to so many people.

GingerRogers84 · 12/09/2017 21:46

I had the whooping cough vaccine and my arm absolutely killed for about two weeks afterwards. Not bruised or anything but it sure felt like it! I'm booked in at our surgery for the flue jab next week.

Snozwanger · 13/09/2017 09:48

I was told to book whooping cough after 20 weeks but I'm going to wait a bit to see if the flu jabs become available too, then try to book them both for the same appointment. One in each arm! I must be crazy.

Ava1985 · 13/09/2017 10:07

Thanks ladies, snow interesting that they said 20 weeks to you, told me 16 ! Probably vary from practice to practice?

Also, ginger I remember my arms feeling like that for a while afterwards last time I had it! Never had that problem with flu jab!

Melody85 · 13/09/2017 10:17

Hi All
I haven't been told by my midwife I should be having these jabs, has everyone else?

I didn't realise I needed them :/ I'm not seeing the midwife again until 25 weeks, does anyone know if there is a latest point you can have the jabs?

Melody85 · 13/09/2017 10:20

@coffeeandcupcakes85 I keep meaning to ask how the GNR was? I was watching on Sunday and thought of you!

KittyKat73 · 13/09/2017 12:02
