Anther late comer to the thread! Due on 4th Feb. I had my anomaly scan on Fri and all looked ok, just have a slightly low placenta so need to be rescanned at 32 weeks when hopefully it will have moved out of the way (fingers crossed)

We already have a DD who is 3, and found out on Friday that we're having another girl. DH has come to terms with being outnumbered!

lookatthemoon · 19/09/2017 14:48

Welcome new people!

Rain - I'm also due on 4 Feb and had a slightly low placenta at 18 but obst said not to worry as most often it will move out of the way as the uterus grows upwards - if that makes sense?! He said it was too early to tell anything at this stage.

Rainshowers · 19/09/2017 15:45

Hi!
Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. She said it's only slightly low, so hopefully it'll just be a good excuse to get another peak at the baby.

KittyKat73 · 20/09/2017 11:41

Hey everyone!

I had my 16 week appointment ( bit further on was 17 weeksa and 4 days) and i heard the babys heart beat!! so happy its so reassuring at this stage inbetween scans. only 2 weeks until i get to see them again at the 20 week scan!

Hope you are all doing well

Phoebe20017 · 24/09/2017 08:09

Hi everyone!

How is everyone?

kittykat your 20 week scan not long after mine, I have mine on Friday (29th sept) !

Feeling a lot more movement now at 19 weeks, its reassuring when you have somethings to remind that you all okay in there!

Ladies having second, third or more babies, do you skip the 25 week appt with mw? Mine has booked me in (without telling me!) for when I will be 28 weeks... Seems a long time to wait but then I suppose the 20 week scan is Inbetween 16 weeks and 28 weeks...

Rainshowers · 24/09/2017 09:59

I'm on my second DC and think I skip two appointments compared to the first time. Feel a bit like I'm being left to my own devices! I saw the midwife at 16 weeks (total waste of time, she didn't even listen to the heartbeat), and have another appointment at 28 weeks which is my anti-D as well as the midwife so not even at my normal clinic. The next time I see my normal midwife is at Christmas.

Feeling lots of movement here now. It seems much stronger than the first time round (probably due to non-existent stomach muscles). Bump is also pretty but already but I was the same last time and DD was only 7lb 2 so fingers crossed this isn't a giant!

Ava1985 · 24/09/2017 18:54

rain same here, feeling movement and I think that's thanks to the lack of stomach muscles left from the last 2 times !

Also I felt bigger with my second and he was a whole pound and half bigger than my dd despite being a week earlier! Feeling big with this one too so far...

Hope all you ladies have had a lovely weekend, hope all the upcoming 20 week scans go well too Smile

lookatthemoon · 25/09/2017 09:48

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

So this weekend my feet just magically got bigger. I know this happened in my last pregnancy but surely 21 weeks is a bit early for this??

TriJo · 25/09/2017 10:46

Phoebe My midwife thought it was too long to wait between the 16 and 28 week appointments, particularly because I had my 16 week appointment at 14 weeks due to planned leave, so I have a midwife appointment out of schedule on Wednesday at 20+2 to do a quick antenatal check, quick chat about 20 week scan and get my MATB1 form. This is my second baby.

natalielawry1 · 25/09/2017 18:18

Can I join too I’m due march 21 Smile

Rainshowers · 25/09/2017 21:44

That's a good point, if we don't get a 25-week midwife apt when are we meant pick up the matb1 form? I'd better ring the midwife tomorrow! Thanks for the reminder TriJo that had completely slipped my mind!

Loxy4527 · 27/09/2017 09:49

I've left a message for my midwife asking about my MAT B1 form as I'd like to get it a bit earlier than 25 weeks. This is my employers' first maternity leave so I kind need to get on them early to make sure they do all the paperwork correctly.

Rainshowers · 27/09/2017 10:44

I spoke to mine yesterday and she had it ready for me to collect by the afternoon. My company are pretty laid back, but we're being taken over by a larger company do want to make sure everything is done by the book just in case!

Just checking in here after not posting for a while. Our secret Facebook group is now up to 46 members. If anyone else wants to join please send me a message.

Broxibear · 27/09/2017 16:49

I got my MAT B1 form today from the midwife (22 weeks) and she advised to take a photocopy before giving it to work. Do we get this back as MIL has asked for it as she is entitled to 5 days off "Granny Leave" from her work?

f1sher · 27/09/2017 20:39

Hi Broxibear,

My HR colleague at work told me they will keep the original, so to take copies for myself and DH etc. Maybe take an extra for your MIL? Hope that helps

TriJo · 27/09/2017 21:53

I scanned mine in today and sent the scan to my husband so he can get the ball rolling on paternity leave. Give your MIL a scan or photocopy of it Broxibear.

pretzelpieces · 27/09/2017 22:07

phoebe I'm on my second baby and I'm meant to make a 24/25 week appointment (must remember to do that!).

Sherbet38 · 06/10/2017 14:08

Hi everyone, just checking in. Had our 20 week scan tipsy and all is as it should be. A wriggly little baby Smile . I have a low lying placenta so have another scan booked at 32 weeks, a nice bonus scan! Hope the placenta moves as I'd like a vbac if i can. Glad you hear everyone's doing well and very impressed at this talk of marathon running! Smile

Sherbet38 · 06/10/2017 23:07

Today not tipsy!

blandontherun · 10/10/2017 15:26

Hi everyone,

I’m new here so trying to work out what MN is all about. I’m due 26th Feb.

Snozwanger · 11/10/2017 21:03

Hi blandontherun. I joined Mumsnet when I had was pregnant with DS1 and the antenatal thread subsequently set up a Facebook group. I found it invaluable as a first time mum and we still all talk 3.5 years later.
I'm sure you'll find Mumsnet helpful. There was so, so much information to take on board I couldn't believe it! Before I got pregnant I had a rough idea but it was just the tip of the iceberg.

pretzelpieces · 11/10/2017 22:11

Hi blandon, I'm actually due last day in January but worked out my EDD wrong initially 😂

blandontherun · 12/10/2017 07:45

@pretzelpieces @Snozwanger thanks ladies! Need to navigate my way around and fine the right bits. But it seems like a nice gang! Hopefully I’ll find some other NW9 mums too
X
