just what you need when you have a newborn

Ok have completely forgotten anything else that I was gonna say , apart from SMA was fine for mia and I'm in the fully prepared to bottle feed if I have to camp (have bought bottles and formula)....
Oh and pmsl @ 'geriatric weebles' spot on!!

Hi All,

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome, meant to get back on when I went hom last night but had to play the weeblies version of Florence Nightinglae to sick DH and DS... who needs step arobics when you have sick men and boys in the house... I have well and truely bonded with the stairs!.

For those who asked I'm due april 19th... but expect hes going to pop early like my first did...as long as I make it to saturday - first day of maternity leave.. The thought of waters breaking and contractions starting on the London underground whilst everyone just steps over me, is my major fear at the moment!!

After all we have only really got pregnant to stop all those men from getting seats havent we???!! (judging my the looks I get if I even dare to look in the wrong direction when a seat becomes available or my weeble frame decided to lucrch uncontrollably onto someones lap!)

EllieK · 22/03/2007 14:01

hi luscious, did you see my post about the email list?

Hello. I am a miserable cow today and am totally fed up. Overnight I was woken at 2.30am after not actually sleeping much anyway, by lower back pain and reasonably strong abdo cramps. These went on for the next 3.5 hours until 6am. Sometimes they were 10 minutes apart and other times only 2-3 mins apart. I really thought that was the start and even put my protector mat on the bed as I was so convinced my waters would go. Still getting twinges this morning but not anywhere near as painful. Midwife said things are definitely starting to happen but at the same time it could still be a while before baby makes an appearance. Sorry for selfish me me me post but am getting to the end of my rope now.

muminabigtumi · 22/03/2007 14:12

Hi ladies

I am so disappointed there is no baby yet... was convinced Mammyjo was going to do the honours for us...no pressure!!! x

SOSPL - (hug) re DH and Becky situation...It's always like good cop bad cop in our house, I am such a soft touch and Phil is alot stricter....I know the conflict that can arise but good that Becky is ok this morning, we can only do what we can do...it is SO hard to have any patience at all at the moment. James threw a jigsaw at me this morning in a rage as I turned Peppa Pig off as he wouldn't get dressed. He was put in his room whilst I cried in the bathroom and calmed down - was so stressed I was having palpitations. When I was calm I went in and asked him if he was going to stay there or get dressed. He said "get dressed mummy, sorry for throwing" - I could have eaten him and we had a big cuddle. So my plan is definatley RETREAT rather than do battle as I just can't deal with the stress right now.

Ellie - hope you get the net sorted my lovely...agree with you re Night garden - however James LOVES it - roars with laughter and everything......must be something only toddlers can relate to !

Doghouse - hi love! My Mum has taken James this afternoon and I have promised myself I will put feet up and read the trashy mags my Mum brought me instead of doing ironing.Bless her she also brought me 2 new tops which should see me through now to the end and the weeks beyond...could have kissed her as I just can't justify buying any more maternity wear now.

Hi to everyone else...I really struggle to keep up but I do read everyones messages even though I don't reply to everything. I must really go and put my feet up for a snooze

catch you later ladies
x

muminabigtumi · 22/03/2007 14:13

Oh god mammyjo - x post - I bet you want to smack me after my insensitive opening line!
I really hope things kick off properly soon for you.....fresh pineapple, curry and sex tonight? Bumpy car journey...

COME ON MAMMYJO'S BABY!!!

(((((((((WILLING IT OUT VIBES))))))))))))

mammyjo · 22/03/2007 14:17

Dont worry about it! Just needed to vent really and am home on my own so came on here to do it! All "willing out" vibes gratefully received. Just feel down because I have had so many signs but still feel that I am getting nowhere! Go and put your feet up and read your mags

mammyjo · 22/03/2007 14:19

Pineapple and a curry sound good but NO WAY for the sex. Am like a baron wasteland in that department just now with no urges whatsoever!

Lusciousladylush · 22/03/2007 14:20

Hi Mammyjo,

Have a nice glass of wine with your curry or spicy fahitas... worked for me with my last one a complete treat... not sure which one started it but I was v naughty and had a glass of white with my curry for lunch and a second one with my spicy fahitas for tea and that was it!.

mammyjo · 22/03/2007 14:22

Me again. Have just found out today too about the antibiotics I need in labour for the strep. If I dont get 2 full doses in before the baby is born then he/she will automatically have to be given IV antibiotics for 48 hours as a precaution until it can be proven they are strep free. I am sure this has added to my crap mood. Went through all that with ds and him having to get lines in his tiny hands/feet with lots of screaming. Making me cry just thinking about it. I know its for the safety of my baby but was so hoping I wouldnt have to go down that road for a second time.

mammyjo · 22/03/2007 14:24

Hi luscious. Cross posted with you there. Wine sounds like an excellent idea. Feeling really edgy today and it may actually help me relax later. Havent even got any in the house, will have to make a detour on the way home after picking up ds from school I think!

CaptainDippy · 22/03/2007 14:24

Awwww, mammyjo -

bumble75 · 22/03/2007 14:31

Hi All,

Am I too late to join the April thread? I'm on Aussie, living in Edinburgh due on the 29th and it's my first baby, possibly wishful thinking on my part that baby will arrive in April but here's hoping!

Have read most of this thread and am feeling (quite literally) your aches and pains! Am amazed at anyone carrying twins -well done ladies - as I'm barely coping with one on board! And how do you do those of you with other lo's manage?? Amazing Ladies!

All the very best to everyone and here's hoping those babies start to appear soon!

nuttygirl · 22/03/2007 14:34

Awww Mammyjo to hear you're having such a hard time. Hope the LO makes an appearance soon.

I must be the meanie wife cos I'm making DH do ALL the housework even tho he works full time and I've been sat on my arse for about 8 months!!!!

Maveta - gosh I don't envy you at all having to do all that with a newborn...I do envy the sunshine tho!!!

Katy44 · 22/03/2007 14:35

Welcome bumble!
Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

nuttygirl · 22/03/2007 14:37

Welcome Bumble75 - sorry I x-posted with you!

Hey CD!!! Have fun sniffing the new baby

Katy44 · 22/03/2007 14:37

CaptainDippy - I meant to tell you this earlier but forgot - haven't sent you any money yet as I've lost my chequebook. Are you in a hurry to get this all sorted?
Really sorry - it's up there with 'the cheque's in the mail' as excuses go!
Will be able to have DH's when he gets back tonight, unfortunately that means I'll have to confess to spending more money

Lusciousladylush · 22/03/2007 14:44

Hi Nuttygirl... just read your post re getting SH to do the housework...

Please tell me how you did it, and that it didn't involve any sexual acts (can't face it).... cos my DH wouldn't know what that word meant... let alone how to do any. you lucky girl!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 14:56

Afternoon Have had sleep and a nice bath, chocolate and a nice cuppa coffee. Feeling a little better.

I would do anything to go into labour now! Having curry and bubbly tonight - and if dh is feeling adventurous may even consider sex (everyday for 3 weeks LOL)

Mammyjo - keep going - it won;t be long We're all desperate for you have have this baby - no more than you though LOL!

Maveta - nutty system - and I assume they are all shut every afternoon

My physio suggested champagne to induce labour - hmmm - have some cava - do you think it matters? WOuld only have two glasses anyway - more likely to get hiccups than contractions

Must go - or will be late for school.

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 14:58

LOL 'SH' rather than DH - can think of a few appropriate S words to replace darling:

stupid
sexy
slightlyhelpful
slovenly
sodof

((chuckles to herself and wobbles off to school))

runnyhabbit · 22/03/2007 15:03

omg - how we can talk

Welcome to the newbies (sorry, not very personal)

Very quick post, as really, really, need to get some laundry done.

Some to all those that need/want them

Took my sister to the hospital this morning. Think we both felt a bit emotional, esp when I gave her card that ds had made for her. Had to leave before we both started crying! Operation is tomorrow

x

Katy44 · 22/03/2007 15:12

Hope everything goes well for your sister tomorrow. Bet she is so excited - it will be a reward for all her hard work!
