quick update - breathing ok but not perfect, waiting o see someone from chest clinic. awake in night with pains in pelvis, twin 1 has dropped even further - next stop is the floor!!! will be induced next thursday 29th if not here by then.

sorry hard to do personal on such a tiny keypad. xx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 22/03/2007 10:13

Morning all.

GMM, hope you feel better soon - sounds rotten.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Keep thinking I am going to log in and find everyone has had their babies!!

It is horrid here weather wise - so cold. I managed to paint my toe nails last week and wore flip flops for a day, and now look at it!!

Love the chat about OAP-styly! Same here. Lying down in bed at night leaves me breathless! Such a sorry state of affairs!

Had a crap nights sleep, as still felt so sad at how dh had been with Becky. B is fine this morning, and was really helpful getting ready with no fuss etc. Got to school and found that another piece of her art work is up on the wall - nearly burst in to tears with the pride - B was pretty chuffed to!

My lovely friend and mw is due shortly, so had better head off for now. Will be back later.

Really hope everyone is ok. xx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 22/03/2007 10:14

Oogs, x posted. Great news about the induction. Fingers crossed for you. Thinking of you and 1b3 especially. xx

EllieK · 22/03/2007 10:44

I'm writing an email with a summary of the last thread, thought that with the threads moving so quickly (the last one only covered Monday & tuesday ) it would be useful so if you've missed a thread you don't need to worry about reading it all to know if anyone's given birth etc

i'll send it out to all i have emails for so if i don't have yours and you want to receive the summary email, send me a message to [email protected]

Oh and hi to all the newcomers!

First day of maternity leave today - ideal! Downside.....got pissing mastitis again! on anti-fricking-biotics (sigh).

Well i'm still hanging on, thought i lost some of my mucus plug yesterday but, who knows?!?! there was no blood in it, but it definately wasn't my "normal" stuff ....(sorry if TMI). I read it doesn't always have blood in it so fingers crossed xxxxxxxx

so anyone sprogged yet?

Katy44 · 22/03/2007 10:50

EllieK - you're very organised, and very kind!

Katy44 · 22/03/2007 10:50

charNBump, no babies yet, sorry to disappoint.

charNbump · 22/03/2007 10:53

EllieK · 22/03/2007 11:04

OP posts:
Katy44 · 22/03/2007 11:12

House is a mess, kitchen still needs sorting out after last night, baby clothes all over, I need to go to the post office, but I have no energy at all today

mmk · 22/03/2007 11:14

1b3 - thinking of you. OOgs too. It must be unbearable for you.

I laughed with those who are having trouble sitting on the sofa-I feel just like a squashed cockroach.

I have been housebound for days. Have cold, cough, throat infection, totally blocked sinuses, and pregnancy insomnia! I can only sleep for an hour or so, then have to get up, with blocked sinuses and restlessness.

Have Olbas oil, and inhaler, Vicks inhaler, steamer, saline drops, and now Dr has given me becaonase and antibiotics.

Well done Pesha for finding 40z sachets of SMA, I loved the ease of the sachets, but 8ox was always too much.

Thank you whoever gave Liath and I encouraging words about BF. I intend to do all I can, but I've also got all the bottles etc, and some formula!

2 weesks and 3 days to Caesarean. It's amazing how far you can push your luck if you just ask.

mmk · 22/03/2007 11:15

...ie we have managed to get a private room, bf counsellor and some other extras.

octopussyintummy · 22/03/2007 11:28

Morning all

ooggs - hope you are okay - hopefully you won;t get as far as next thursday - but great to have a date!

1B3 - sending soothing vibes to tummy

Mammyjo - come on girl! (((real contraction vibes)))

Had physio this morning - did some mobilisation on my hips and crunched my neck.

Have child free day - have had a yummy sticky toffee pudding now off to bed for a kip! zzzzzzzzzzzzz

nuttygirl · 22/03/2007 11:45

Morning folks.

Really pleased to hear you've got an induction date Ooogs.

Argh, can't remember anything else. Probably due to lack of sleep, I was so uncomfy last night and felt a bit sicky too. Am going to have a nap later on!

EllieK · 22/03/2007 11:46

may not be around to post for a while girls, just discovered that Justin hasn't paid the phonebill so they are suspending services. i will have to pay it but with my wages not having gone in this week (still trying to find out why) i can't pay it yet. also it's made me quite down so think i'll probably retreat into myself for a while, sorry

OP posts:
octopussyintummy · 22/03/2007 11:51

Oh no EllieK - make sure you text us with any news I am skint too - get money on tuesday! ((scurries off to check account again!))

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 11:56

new easter name!

mmk · 22/03/2007 12:01

time is running out on library computer! Hope to be in touch soon, so best wishes to all.

Twin mummies- you are both doing so well, we are proud of you!

April is nearly here, oooh, we can walk, drink SLLLLLEEEEP and manage toddlers again!

Ds is now refusing to put a jumper on every day! All bribing, distracting, corruption has failed, so we have to stand him on lounge windowsill, and distract him by aksing him to look out for the dustbin lorry. While he is looking, I can get his jumper on....

nuttygirl · 22/03/2007 12:04

Oh Ellie poor you. Hope you get back online soon.

Well I'm off for a nap, not sure if I'll be back on today - depends how I feel after some sleep!!!

If I'm not on tomorrow don't get too excited...we're changing broadband providers and I have some techie stuff to do to make it work!!!

doghouse · 22/03/2007 12:11

Hi everyone ... and special hello to 1B3 and Oogs and anyone else (GMM) who is suffering as we head into the last few weeks.
I have been one of the lucky ones that has had a very easy pgcy (probably in for a long, hard labour now I have said that) and so I really sympathise.
MIABT - welcome back - I am like you and finding it hard to rest when there is so much cleaning and tidying to do. Despite the fact that everyone is telling me to rest while I can.
Runnyhabbit - hope you are feeling brighter now and sorry to hear about your PIL
Oh and welcome to the newcomers!!
Goodness, do you think we will have our first babe by the weekend ... I do hope so, it is getting quite ridiculous!!
Love to all xx

nellyhel · 22/03/2007 12:24

Morning to all. Have tried to read what I have missed since yesterday! Best wishes Ooogs and others with signs that things are imminent. Hoping for news soon though will probably cry as I do when I read the birth announcements pages. Can I blame hormones for that?

My Tens machine arrived today, so will need to check it all works. Saw mw and I was right, junior is not breech and head 2/5 engaged, so all heading the right way. Would be lovely not to wait 3 weeks or more though, I feel ready now. Though after next week is school holidays, so maybe then would be easier... oh if I could pick and choose the day!

EllieK - bad news about the phone bill. If you are fed up mumsnet-withdrawal is not what you need! Hope you can get it sorted. Likewise on the bank balance, i don't know what has happened this month but thankfully pay day on friday. Was just thinking this morning how much I am looking forward to contacting child tax credits again soon (NOT). I have a whole file of letters and complaints from when they last mucked up my payments. Hoping when I have another baby to claim for it goes more smoothly and I actually start getting some money again!!

Real luxury today, I am on my own until 3 p.m. so I really must get off PC and go and have a lie down. Will set alarm for school time though! Tired today from too much housework yesterday - doing none today at all which seems fair, but then probably means more for tomo...

maveta · 22/03/2007 12:25

Hi girls.. can´t quite keep up with the chat but hope you are all okay esp. 1b3, ooogs, GMM and mammyjo - are you STILL holding onto that baby??! Good Lord woman!

Went to see the doctor to get him to sign me off work as you can´t get maternity pay here until you´ve had your baby. It´s quite routine to get signed off at this point and should be no big deal but this Dr. was a complete arse. Kept asking for a specific reason and I was just giving a list: not sleeping well, the journey into work and back everyday is getting too much for me, back ache, it hurts to sit at the desk all day blah blah. FFS I´m 35 weeks just Fxxxing sign me off!

Dr. "well yes but I need a concrete reason, I mean everything you´ve said is what every pregnant woman will be feeling at this stage"
Me. Yes, I guess so (thinking yes, you f-ing twat and they´re all stopping work too)
Dr. "I take it this is your first?" (patronising little smile)
Me. "Yes" (thinking "%&/()%&%&)&)/!!")
Dr. "mmm--hmm"

Anyway, he finally gave me the bloody letter but jeezus I felt like I was skiving school or something. grumble grumble grumble

EllieK · 22/03/2007 12:27

what a weird system maveta, and i thought ours was bad

OP posts:
maveta · 22/03/2007 12:36

Oh Ellie that´s not the half of it. I don´t know how it works in UK but I now have to take this letter to the health insurance provider so that I can get the sick pay which I´ll do tomorrow I guess.

BUT This is different from maternity pay. Once I have the baby I (and only I, and it has to be in person) have to go to hacienda (don´t know what it is in english) and sign myself off there due to maternity. THEN I have to go to social security (another office) and sign myself off THERE so they pay me. I then have to go to ANOTHER office to get the entitlement I am due of having my social security payments made on my behalf for one year and ANOTHER office to apply for working mother´s allowance.

I could cry just thinking about it. And I´ll need to process all of this asap after having the baby so we get the money. when am I going to be able to do it??!
