[Hugs]] to all - not long to go!!

weeonion · 23/03/2007 12:00

have fun his afternoon!

nellyhel - i'm in glasgow - you further east of eburgh??

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2007 12:05

Argh!! I can't even put a letter in an envelope .....

nellyhel · 23/03/2007 12:06

gmm, weeonion - I am south of edinburgh, in Borders. And the sun is shining today, blue sky really cheers me up!

LesleyR · 23/03/2007 12:06

I'm so glad I joined in yesterday. You guys are all so lovely and supportive.

1b3-sounds like you were treated appallingly yesterday. It's easy for us all to say go in and kick up a fuss, but maybe not so easy to do when you're so tired and demoralised. I think you need to let them know how you're feeling, you can't have another day like yesterday!

On the flip side of that I have been reading positive birth experience thread and it made me feel less scared as a first-timer.

Going to finish this post and today's 1st cup of RL tea then head off to the hairdresser for something low maintainence. Hope my achey back lets me sit in one place long enough for them to cut it properly. Now having visions of wearing a bobble hat for first few months with baby. Nice!

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2007 12:08

Yes, this is a really nice thread!!

Need to go and shove food in DD2 and get DD1 from Pre-School .....

Mavornia · 23/03/2007 12:49

Hello everyone!

This thread moves soooo fast - or maybe it's just me struggling to keep up. I've had a bum or foot wedged under my ribs for 5 days now and haven't slept a wink at night - still trying to work my way through all the messages.

My bump is really high and hard but there's an odd flabby pouch which has just appeared below my belly button - will this fill out when the baby drops (she asks hopefully!) or is it just flab which I shall have to tuck away/sweat off?!

xoxo

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 12:53

Mavornia - your bump sounds exactly like mined (if you don't mind me saying) - every time I lean forward I feel as though there's something physically pushing on my ribs. The bit below my belly button doesn't feel as though it has anything in it at all - above and around is firm when I press it but there is quite soft! Sure it never used to be like that!

weeonion · 23/03/2007 12:57

mavornia - i also have a saggy bit under the bump - which is quite high but sticks out very far?? it aint the prettiest i have to say and i only noticed it when i lokoed straight on in the mirror

Mavornia · 23/03/2007 13:03

ah well, at least it sounds normal.

I fear I'm carrying the baby above the belly button and all the hot cross buns and greek yoghurt I've been scoffing below it.

Mavornia · 23/03/2007 13:06

weeonion - my bump was sticking out so far yesterday my mum said it looked like that tabletop shaped lump that katie holmes was sporting at the end of her pregnancy (afraid that's the only resemblance...)

and I had the nerve to be shocked when a sales assistant asked when i was due. how did he know i was pregnant, I asked - to sniggers all round as I waddled out with my mum...

weeonion · 23/03/2007 13:08

lol mavornia - i think mien is kitkat, hummous and monster munch below. surgery beckons methinks

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 23/03/2007 13:10

LOL Mavornia! I have no space left for food - in fact I'm not even sure where my stomach is anymore. Keep thinking about GMMs chinese buffet .....

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 13:11

Yes, I spent a while telling DH I still didn't look pregnant when I had my coat on - he kept quiet and nodded

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 13:14

Have just had my first experience of body parts coming out of my bump!
That's so lovely.
From what I can remember about his position though, he must have been sticking his boney bum out of the side of my bump. Unless he's wiggled round and that was a foot.

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 23/03/2007 13:15

LOL Katy - I thought that until couldn't do it up anymore! Now I have my new Boden coat I look like a giant blue spotty easter egg!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 23/03/2007 13:16

Could you see toes? I can feel a ridge of toes sometimes when he presses really hard.

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 13:22

Don't know, was too shocked to really think about it! If it happens again I'll have a feel. For it to have been a foot though he would have completely have had to flip round so his spine was on my other side in the last 2 weeks - is that likely without me knowing?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 23/03/2007 13:23

Hiya, back from a lovely lunch - packed it in!

My whole tummy is rock hard, and I keep getting a sort of buzzing feeling at the top of the bump near my ribs. Most strange!

Katy, lol at your dh nodding "in agreement" with you! Men eh!

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 13:23

Unless he can somehow get his foot right under his bum - suppose that's not too unlikely for a baby

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 23/03/2007 13:26

God you have completely confused me!

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 13:28

Well I've insulted you on another thread!

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 13:30

Do you mean position of my baby? Well at the scan (a week and a half ago) they told me he was head down, with his spine against my right hand side. The 'bulge', whatever it was, came out of the top of my bump on the right hand side. Felt a bit small to be his bum, but his feet would be over at the other side of the bump, surely?
Would really love to know what it was I pushed back in

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 23/03/2007 13:37

Normally legs would be on the other side I love pushing bits back in!

runnyhabbit · 23/03/2007 13:38

hi all

1b3 - Really feeling for you. You're doing such a fantastic job carrying 2 lo around agree with the others, and kick up an almighty fuss in hospital until they do something.

My little sis has gone down to theatre. Mum is there, and will keep me posted. Thanks again for all you good wishes

Ds is having his nap, so think I might do the same.
