I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

Unicorn, I don't really mind, I'm just not used to not drinking yet Grin

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 28/06/2017 22:01

Congrats fefi! I'm going to do another test at the weekend then call the GP I think, but that's probably just me being over-cautious.

DancingUnicorn · 29/06/2017 05:49

Hi fifi. Congratulations! My area is self referral to the midwife, which is much easier than seeing the gp I think (no fortnight's wait for one thing!). And I've already done it because I want to get in the queue for scans etc! You could google your area to see if you can do the same, or see the GP and they should tell you what happens where you are I think.

Flatwhite31 · 29/06/2017 05:56

@DancingUnicorn, I'm tired too but it's on a par with teaching exhaustion for me, so that's lucky in a way. Take it easy this weekend.
I'm going out for dinner on Sat with 3 girlfriends, and we are supposed to be having cocktails! I'm going to have to try and subtely order a mocktail or two I think, as I know one of them will suspect immediately if I'm not drinking!

Flatwhite31 · 29/06/2017 05:57

Meant to say welcome @fefi! I'm a first timer too!

DancingUnicorn · 29/06/2017 06:54

One friend I'm out with tonight knows about my miscarriage and that we're trying, so it won't be a huge surprise. But it's basically a wine drinking event. I don't even know if there'll be a non alcoholic alternative!

I'm getting round the tea issue at work by accepting my usual cups of tea and then only drinking a few sips from each before it's too cold! Adds up to probably a full mug and a bit over the day, which should be ok!

Flatwhite31 · 29/06/2017 07:22

I've got a decaff jar of coffee in the staff room cupboard! It's so busy at break times nobody has noticed. Today I'm on break duty, so my TA will make my coffee. She's also a good friend of mine, but it's still too early for me to tell anyone, so I'll just drink normal coffee! All the websites say caffeine in moderation, so I'm sure one cup of weak instant coffee (the first one I'll have had since finding out!) won't matter.
Hope there's a non alcoholic alternative for you @Dancing!
I'm feeling knackered today! I do get up early for work as you can see from the time I posted earlier, but I'm really shattered. Got a music concert I've organised at school after work tomorrow, then I'm hoping to sleep most of the weekend!

Fefifoefum · 29/06/2017 08:44

Good luck with alcohol fuelled events unicorn and flat! Could you use the old, I'm on antibiotics that I can't drink with?

It's so difficult isn't it, I want to share our news with the world, well maybe at least our mums and my close girl friends, but then I'm literally only 3 days of missed period, I don't feel like it's quite real! Although did another test this morning and definitely preggo according to clear blue!

Also just had a google about caffeine, now I'd always thought you just had to be slightly careful, but one cup of decent coffee a day?! This is going to be tough!
I also quit smoking last night, had been cutting down with the view to stop anyway, but didn't expect to conceive quite so quickly, so they went straight in the bin, along with my nice coffee it seems!

rebbles · 29/06/2017 11:03

Hi @fefi! Congratulations! I'm tried but struggling to cut down on caffeine as my 19mo was up from 1.30am to 3am this morning and awake for the day at 4.30am...😴😴😴
Defoe don't say antibiotics as it's obvious. Just pretend to drink g and t but just have the tonic or have a lemonade instead!! Or say you're driving?
In our area it's self refer to midwife using an online forms too. If you call your GP or search on your local hospital midwife section of the website it will say it.

ifuzzy · 29/06/2017 14:13

Hello everyone,

Am cautiously joining, I got a faint BFP on weds and yesterday now trying to refrain from testing for a couple of days to see if gets stronger.

This will be my second, DS is 3

Have had a bout of awful nausea (which prompted early testingI), some extreme bloating & random pains, I don't remember suffering this early last time.

KittyKat73 · 29/06/2017 15:10

Hey everyone I am also cautiously joining.

Got my BFP on 23/6/17 (took 2 more tests since then to make sure haha) have been TTC for 12 months and nothing then a holiday to greece knocks me up!. i had erratic and long cycles so im guessing i must be about 4 weeks and 3/4 days ( basing on when i got my peak on CB)

Phoned the Gp and they said I dont need to make an appointment just to hand in urine to they can confirm it officially then Ill wait for an appointment with the midwife.

Having morning nausea seems to be the main symptom just now Smile

CL1982 · 29/06/2017 15:18

Hi everyone - die 2nd March. First baby after 3mcs and feeling really positive!

Anyone else get pregnant and then just go....now what?! We get scanned at 6 weeks which is good but it was still all quite vague.

xxHappyHippyxx · 29/06/2017 16:15

Hello! :) can I join?
First post, first pregnancy!
I found out I'm pregnant last Thursday, only been TTC a few months so slightly stunned but excited and been lurking around here obsessing over everything. I think today is the beginning of week 6 so supposed due date 4th March!
I took my sample in to doctors on Monday and they confirmed pregnancy and midwife booked me in for first appointment on 19th July which just seems so far away, I'm too impatient! I'm hoping they will do a scan but they didn't say...
So far the worst part has been not smoking, I just stopped as soon as I got the positive test, but I think it's actually easier to give up knowing I'm doing it for someone else's good.
Boobs have pretty much doubled in size already, which OH is more pleased about than me... Hmm although they hurt so he's not allowed to touch haha and apart from that I've just been unreasonably tired and slightly emotional for no apparent reason lol I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed for a sickness free pregnancy Grin
Hope everyone is doing OK!! StarStarStar

Flatwhite31 · 29/06/2017 17:49

Welcome newbies! Glad you're all joining us on here. Congratulations to you all! Well done to those who have given up smoking.

That's so exciting you've got an appointment @HappyHippy. I've got a GP appt on Tues morning before school, so I'm hoping to be 'in the system' then.

I've been SO tired today! Really bad. Some of it is definitely school related, but some of it is definitely pregnancy. Am surprised by how nervous I am about it all!

Flatwhite31 · 29/06/2017 18:02

Meant to say we haven't told anyone. My parents live in Scotland, and I won't see them in person til August. So, if everything progresses well (fingers crossed a million times over!), I'll tell them then.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 29/06/2017 18:41

die 2nd March. bit harsh... Grin

Congrats to ifuzzy, kittykat73, and cl1982!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 29/06/2017 18:43

...and happyhippy too!

Fefifoefum · 29/06/2017 18:45

Hello happyhipppy! Giving up the ol' fags is easiest when it's for the bean inside your belly isn't it?! However I can't work out if I'm being a moody cow because I need a ciggie or I have extra hormones!?

Also got a midwife appt for 4 weeks time! Eek, feels so long away! Also feels like temping fate?!

Flatwhite31 · 29/06/2017 19:08

I think everything feels like tempting fate at the moment @Fefi! I am just desperate to get to 12 weeks.
@HappyHippy, I wish my boobs would get bigger lol. They just hurt!

Speechie14 · 29/06/2017 19:45

Hello. Could I join too? Got my early bfp on Tuesday. Think I'll be due around the 12th March. Second baby, my little girl is 3. Forgot how long the first 12 weeks can feel.

Flatwhite31 · 29/06/2017 20:03

Welcome and congratulations @Speechie! Hope you're feeling ok.
I've got awful indigestion this evening. Lovely!

rextrex · 30/06/2017 01:03

Hi everyone!
I'm 4 weeks 3 days according to my Ovia app. This is baby number 2 I have a little boy who's almost 2. It's not sunk in yet really but been feeling like I'm hungover and falling asleep in the afternoons for the last couple of days!

DancingUnicorn · 30/06/2017 07:19

Hi to all the newbies! Getting a real rush now! :) Congratulations! Hoping for straightforward pregnancies for everyone.

I managed to be out until nearly 11 yesterday, which was impressive, but I'm exhausted now and the day hasn't even begun yet.

DancingUnicorn · 30/06/2017 07:21

In other news, my incredibly efficient hospital has already sent me a scan date!! But it's not for aaaaaaages!

I'm tempted to try to convince dh to let me get a private one, as I think I'm going to be really anxious after last time.

Flatwhite31 · 30/06/2017 07:32

Hi @rextrex! Congrats! I'm 4+2, so pretty much the same as you Smile.
@Dancing, that's amazing you have a scan date already! I'm actually looking forward to my GP appt on Tues to get the ball rolling, as I feel in limbo at the moment! I would say a private scan is definitely worth it to put your kind at rest.
