I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

Thanks Loupee! I only have one from the internet (most calculators say 7th March). I haven't been to the GP yet or anything, going to sort that out tomorrow.

DancingUnicorn · 25/06/2017 09:07

Loupe seems a bit too early to see people about the spotting? I figure there's nothing they can do other than maybe bloods to confirm hcg is doubling. If it's still going in a week I will. Don't need to see the gp at all here, as will self refer online to maternity services.

Last time I had what seemed like a perfect pregnancy with zero spotting, loads of symptoms, but still ended badly. I guess I just need to learn to be patient to see how this one goes.

Hi flat! Yes, your EDD will probably get skewed if you ovulated early, but won't get fixed until your 12 week scan I think. There's an NHS calculator, probably reasonable to use that. Congratulations!!

Flatwhite31 · 25/06/2017 09:27

Thanks @DancingUnicorn. I read about what happened in your previous pregnancy at the start of this thread. So sorry. Really hope this time goes well for you. That's the thing with early pregnancy - it's very outwith our control as to whether it progresses or not. Sad
Thanks for the advice re the NHS calculator. Smile It says 7th March. I've tried looking online for maternity services in my area, but there's no obvious self referral anywhere. Will ring my local surgery on Monday and go from there.

DancingUnicorn · 25/06/2017 09:46

Yes, my dh and I are describing ourselves as cautiously excited. Can't control it, but don't want to spend my life expecting the worst to happen!

I only looked for self referral as I live walking distance from a major hospital, so knew that would be my maternity service!

Flatwhite31 · 25/06/2017 13:08

'Cautiously excited' - couldn't put it better! That must be so handy living near a big hospital. The parking at ours is a nightmare!

DancingUnicorn · 25/06/2017 13:21

Yep. I'm so excited about one day walking home with our little one! (Hopefully in March!)

Gracie20 · 26/06/2017 18:02

Congratulations flatwhite! By the way is anyone there aren't a few more of us yet?im 5 weeks today. Feel tired and a bit nauseous. Still v cautious in my excitement too!

Gracie20 · 26/06/2017 18:04

Meant to say is anyone else surprised...

Flatwhite31 · 26/06/2017 19:16

Congrats Gracie! I've got no sickness yet, but am not even 4 weeks yet (am 4w on Wed). Really finding it hard to relax, as it's all so precarious at this stage. My symptoms are very sore boobs and getting hungry all of a sudden and just having to eat there and then if I can. I have been told I have to make a GP appointment, but there isn't one for at least a fortnight! Have been told to ring back on Thursday to see if I can get one sooner, as there's a doctor who has a release of appointments on Thurs for people who need them quicker.

DancingUnicorn · 26/06/2017 19:35

Gracie I think a lot of people might be reluctant with it being so early.

I'm starting to get a little nausea. Not dreadful yet. And my word, everything stinks!!

Gracie20 · 26/06/2017 21:05

Dancing you might well be right. Hope I'm not jinxing myself but I didn't join a thread in Feb and it still didn't work out so I guess I'm just trying something different!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 27/06/2017 10:54

Hello! Can I join please? I got a faint bfp this morning, edd 16/3. ridiculously early, and anything might happen, but I can't hold in the excitement!!
I'm 36 and this will be DC#2 -DD aged 3y 2m.

Fingers crossed for everyone, and Flowers for those with previous losses.

Flatwhite31 · 27/06/2017 17:18

Hello @givemethetea! Congrats - how exciting! Here's to a happy, healthy 9 months.

I finally managed to get a GP appt for next Tues, but it's before work so I'll have to get my teaching assistant to do my register. It's so difficult to get an appointment after school hours! Thankfully it's with my usual GP, so that's nice. Smile

rebbles · 27/06/2017 17:26

Hiya can I join please?

Welcome givemethetea and rebbles! Congrats! Givemethetea we have very similar ages of children!

Gracie20 · 27/06/2017 18:08

I'm a bit worried today because my boobs seem to be less sore and I am less tired 😥

DancingUnicorn · 27/06/2017 18:34

It's still really early Gracie. Hopefully totally normal variation of symptoms at this point. So stressful though. Hope it is all ok.

rebbles · 27/06/2017 19:21

Gracie wouldn't worry maybe just getting used to the hormones?
I'm still breastfeeding my first 😂 it's going to be interesting... my only symptom so far has been serious nursing aversion makes my skin crawl for past couple of days!
