Hi, ok to join?
From dates, I'm due 01/01 but I had an early scan due to pain and bleeding and looks like I'm due 10/01. Have a private scan today (my dating scan isn't for 3 weeks and I have no patience) so maybe have a more definite date today (from dates, I'd be 11 weeks and 3 dates)

Here's my bump at 11 weeks, even with a. Early scan it didn't feel real until I started noticing a bump well more when other people started to notice! Now very excited and impatient for my scan on the 27th

When did they all start to look so proper bump?
This is my first pregnancy and my waist is definitely bigger but it seems to be wide all round and not in a bump shape to the front 😒
I'm only 8+5 but can't wait to not just feel fat and have a proper bump

I do think the bloating/constipation seems to be easing a bit though

Here's mine. It looked like a bump before 6 weeks. With my first I showed early but not THIS early!

Forumusername with my first pregnancy I didn't show until 16 weeks and even then wasn't obvious unless you knew. Almost 10 this time and still nothing!

What does everyone think about telling people at just over 10 weeks? I've had to tell a few people at work and have told my parents but that's it - DH has not told his parents or siblings yet and really thinks we should wait till 12 weeks. But this is getting inconvenient - e.g. we've just been invited on a fantastic holiday and will have to say no, and I'd like to just be able to tell the truth about why, rather than making up a lie and then correcting it in a fortnight.

We had a reassurance scan at 8 weeks - saw heartbeat and all looked fine. We also have another scan this Monday (Harmony test - which includes an ultrasound) - so I think if that Monday scan all looks OK, we should tell, rather than waiting for NHS 12 weeks scan at the end of the month? Obviously, mc can happen at any time - but if the scans haven't flagged up any worries, is it so much more likely to happen at 10 or 11 weeks than at 12? Or am I being naive?

Any opinions appreciated! Thanks!

Lots of lovely looking bumps! I've just got a bit of podge from all the carbs I had to eat to keep the ms at bay!

I had my scan today, measuring 12w+2 and due date has been brought foward to 26th Dec - hope you'll still have me in the January group

ElleMcElle - We did the panorama test (like harmony). The scan they did then was very basic, just yep theres a baby, has a heartbeat, measures Xmm. Todays was much more thorough checking for all the organs etc. We told quite a few people before today though, I figured quite a few people would guess and I'd rather I got to tell them. On all occasions though, I tried to downplay it a bit and say that we were trying to keep excitement under control until scan. I waited to tell my sister though so that we could both get properly excited! As long as whoever you tell you'd also be happy to tell if things go wrong then I think its definitely easier to tell people earlier.

I told everyone straight away. I've miscarried before and then told people I'd miscarried. I appreciated the support and I think that miscarriage shouldn't be something people are ashamed of. I don't do anything silly like announcing on Facebook but I told friends and work colleagues

Wow guys those bumps!!!!

I had a bit of spotting last week and had a scan at the epu. Baby seemed ok but quite a bit smaller than I thought. They also found a very small heamatoma. But I'm still bleeding and it seems to be getting worse. Do you think I need to call back or something. I'm a natural worrier.

I agree - I think MC should be much more widely talked about and most of the people I'm proposing telling now are people whose support and understanding I'd want if that happened. But DH is very "You're not supposed to tell till 12 wks".

I'm getting a bit frustrated, as I feel it's slightly more my decision to make than his - although not 100% my decision. What's difficult is that if he refuses to tell his parents and siblings until 12 weeks and I do tell friends etc - we end up in an uncomfortable position where most people know except his closest family!

Eva30 I was in a similar situation at my early scan so they offered me a vaginal scan. It was so much clearer, could see the baby and the heartbeat. Could this be an option if you went private rather than have to wait? Hoping all will be well for you.

@coragreta you may have read further down the thread that I had a substantial bleed on Tuesday (bled through underwear and clothes). After a horrible night going to A&E and assuming the worst, I had a scan at EPU yesterday & was surprised to see little bubs waving at us. But they found a subchorionic hematoma (sp?). They told me to expect more bleeding and said that if it happens to call them or go to A&E. They also booked me in for a scan in 2 weeks time.

I've done some research and apparently we should be drinking lots and I noticed that some women are put on bed rest. I took yesterday and today off and have really just rested. Have had no more bleeding. But still feeling v nervous.

If you are still bleeding, I would be tempted to call EPU to see if you can go and get checked out?

Lovely bumps I am feeling huge and I'm only 10 weeks! Desperate to tell DC and families now but waiting for second scan and Harmony results, so we'll probably be sharing our news at 12 weeks.

Can I join in? My edd is 23rd Jan. Same as my mum! It's my second and I'm super excited and trying to stay calm until the first scan

I've had a day off, had all the intentions of blitzing the house got on the couch at 12 and fell asleep needless to say house hasn't been blitzed lol. Xxx

So today isn't a good day. Went to the loo and I wiped and I had blood. Pad not showing any blood (random). Completely parnoid booked in at EPU for another scan currently 10 w 3 days. Blood was red now looks like its turning brown. Any one else experienced this? Still exhausted :(

Ruth That was taken at 8+2. Definitely only one!

Hutch2016 I had this about 7 weeks in with pain. Had scan and everything was fine. They couldn't find out why I was bleeding. Everything cleared. Last week, it started again and was substantially more than the first time but no pain. I tried not to get concerned... it cleared up after about 5 days and I thought more of it. Just had private scan today and baby is completely fine. It was more brown last week too.

Thanks kirst11 I had a scare at 7 weeks 6 too but the blood was darker and they said it was linked to contispation, we did see a heartbeat at that First scan. I freaked out today at work as the blood was brighter this time. It's going to be a long night until tomorrow at 9am (appt) can't fault the BHS quick service!

I just rang epu. They didn't seem concerned but have booked me another scan on Wednesday. Hope all is ok.

Has anybody taken paracetamol since finding out they were pregnant? The advice I've read says that it's safe to take but best to take as little as possible, particularly in the first trimester. Have had bad headaches the last few days and am really suffering with it today but can't bring myself to take any paracetamol. Am I being really over cautious??
