Wow @pickledsausage ! They really do start looking like little babies from 9w rather than just jelly beans Grin congratulations!

It was moving and everything!! I don't know what I was expecting but I couldn't stop laughing, he had to tell me to keep still 😂

ElleMcElle · 31/05/2017 16:31

Thanks so much @rememberpurpleronnie and @pickledsausage (and what a great scan pic!)

flyingsprocket · 31/05/2017 17:24

Oh how lovely @pickledsausage

I had my booking in today too. The only thing that's changed since last time round here is everyone's screened for gestational diabetes now & as I'm over 35 I have to a glucose load test done soon

reetgood · 31/05/2017 17:31

Hello folks, haven't posted before. Am around 9 weeks pregnant with a due date of Jan 1st or Dec 31st :) I had my first booking appointment quite a while back, and have had 12 week scan appointment come through. Its not until the 27 Jun when I will be an estimated 13 weeks. It seems a little late? Just wondered when others have had theirs. I'm 37, first pregnancy, but considered low risk at the mo apparently.

Rosehyd2 · 31/05/2017 17:38

Hi reet, congratulations. I saw my gp for the first time today (I'm 6+5) and they said a can between 10-12 weeks but on the NHS site I think it was it says 10-13 is normal. Im hoping for 11-12 weeks as I go on holiday at 13 weeks!

Have you had your booking in appointment? Mines booked for when I'll be approx 10 and a half weeks which felt quite long but again seems normal (thanks Google!)

AmandaP86x · 31/05/2017 17:38

Hi everyone

Had an early scan today I thought I was 7 weeks but measure at 6+2 she said this early is hard to get a proper measurement but I seen the wee heart flickering away.

Had misscarridge at 9 weeks last time so very anxious even this scan didn't reassure me that much 😭 but I need to enjoy today and the fact it looks ok.

Xx

January 2018 babies - early scans and midwife appointments!
reetgood · 31/05/2017 17:53

@rosehyd2 that seems late for first appointment, but I suppose all trusts work differently. I had my booking in appointment at 7 weeks-ish! I had no idea what I was doing but heard ideally I should be looking at the first appointment around 8 weeks. I got myself registered with doctors near me, phoned them up and asked what happens next and got an appointment with the community midwife the next week. She told me that the letters for the scan tended to arrive late, but it appears the letter was prompt, the scan was later. As long as they can do the nuchal test I'll be happy but I keep wondering 'do they mean 13 weeks 6d? Or 12 weeks 6d for them to be able to do it? I'm sure it will be fine, just fretting slightly. It's also annoying as we're trying to delay telling people until we've got extra confirmation of the scan.

ImBreakingBad · 31/05/2017 18:32

Quick update for you ones Smile.

Had my scan today. Everything went well. I was a blubbering mess! EDD now 16/01/18 and I'm 7+1. Saw the tiny baby and little heartbeat! I'm over the moon Grin

Ruthcarr1990 · 31/05/2017 18:38

@ImBreakingBad just wondering if you had a external scan? Ive got a scan tomorrow morning. I'm 7 weeks to do sooo nervous xxx

weasledee · 31/05/2017 19:19

Congrats Amanda and breaking bad! :)

Waitingonasmile · 31/05/2017 19:24

Nice to see lots of good news from scans Smile. Congratulations everyone.

I still have a few days to go until mine and I'm so nervous.

ImBreakingBad · 31/05/2017 20:10

Thank yous Grin.

ruth I didn't! My uterus is already above my pubic line so she hardly had to look. I didn't even have a full bladder. I'm unsure if it's because I'm short and thin it was so easy though!

Fattycowagain · 31/05/2017 20:43

Mine was external too. No full bladder and no searching around: she found it straight away.

Ruthcarr1990 · 31/05/2017 20:43

@ImBreakingBad thanks Hun. I don't want to have an internal scan. So fingers crossed I won't have to have one. Xxx

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 31/05/2017 23:56

I know it's pretty late (Idk why I'm up but I'm suspecting it's because I want to eat everything in the house Grin. I thought it'd be way too early for this to happen). Anyway I finally have my booking-in appointment on the 23rd. Is there anything I should expect? My confirmation email says it'll take approx. 1hr and 1/4. What in God's name do they do in there?! Hmm

Sorry if it's already been asked. Anyway I'm off to raid the fridge like a loon Blush

coragreta · 01/06/2017 03:42

I'm up too. Wtf. Is 3:40am.
I had my appointment today. Was an hour appointment but only took 40mins in the end. It's loads of family history questions + blood and urine tests. Nothing to worry about.

Rosehyd2 · 01/06/2017 07:58

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and I'm debating telling my boss already because my nausea is so bad. No actual sickness but the feeling is overwhelming. Is this a bad idea?

coragreta · 01/06/2017 08:05

I'm only 7ish weeks but my boobs are leaking. Just a tiny bit but surely it's too early for that? Any one any experience? Just to say I only fully stopped breastfeeding 2 months before I got pregnant.

Maybebaby2 · 01/06/2017 08:15

Morning everyone and congratulations to new faces.
Brilliant news on all those scans! pickled your photo is amazing!

I've just had an awful night, felt poorly around 9.30 so went to bed and started getting really bad lower back pain, it was pretty bad. This lasted for an hour or so and then I asleep but kept waking throught the night with it. It's eased off this morning but im still feeling awful and I'm worried what is causing it, I had the same thing a few weeks ago. I've no pain in abdomen, I'm not cramping and I'm not spotting at all so not too worried, but does anyone have any idea why I would get such bad pains in my back or has anyone had the same?

Maybebaby2 · 01/06/2017 08:20

Oh and I'm 7+5 today

coragreta · 01/06/2017 08:26

Maybe. Have you got a maternity pillow. That really helps my back already. Especially because I'm usually a tummy sleeper. I can curl up and be supported. I love it.

Maybebaby2 · 01/06/2017 08:37

Not got one yet but I will have a look at them because I'm usually a tummy sleeper too, thanks coragreta.
Still achy this morning since I've got up and moved around but not as bad as last night. Just took some paracetamol to help.

Hotpinkangel19 · 01/06/2017 09:44

@Rosehyd2 I told my work at 6 weeks, I had no choice, we're a small team of 5 and it's a nursery.

ndo4000 · 01/06/2017 10:16

Omg. I feel so sick 🤢.

That's all. I just had to tell someone.
