Stumpy nah don't take him unless you need a handhold in case they do your bloods then (mine wasn't at booking in as my booking in was a home visit) but otherwise get some medical history from him. They will ask the usual - diabetes, heart conditions in the family etc but they do also ask about genetic conditions such as downs, Edwards etc so just ask him beforehand.

Angielka · 18/05/2017 14:18

Oh thank you tiptop I feel (very) slightly less like a hysterical pregnant woman now Grin

welcome biker and sorry to hear about your mc. Mine was at an earlier stage, but I am still slightly panicking about tomorrow's 12 weeker...

I have embraced the bloat today and have broken out the maternity wear. It's bloody comfortable!

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 18/05/2017 14:39

Thanks @TipTop and @Angielka

@Angielka - I so know what you mean! Held out for as long as possible but now none of my jeans or trousers do up around the waist so I'm living in JojoMamanBebe leggings at the moment!

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 18/05/2017 14:40

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @Angielka!! All crossable body parts crossed for you Smile

Brens13 · 18/05/2017 14:58

mamalovesviolet I'm exactly the same. Occasionally I think I may be feeling a little nauseous or tired, but nothing that doesn't go with a distraction. I'll be staying on the anxious bench for the next 4 (at least) weeks!

StumpyScot92 · 18/05/2017 15:55

Thanks everyone, I figured it would all be administrative really and no need for him to be off for it but thought I better check!

Buzzing for my scan on the 29th, even though I had an early private one around 7 weeks which showed a nice strong heartbeat I still have fear that something could have happened :(

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 18/05/2017 16:16

I know what you mean @StumpyScot, but hopefully statistics are on your side! Fingers and everything crossed for you for the 29th Smile

TipTop333 · 18/05/2017 16:26

I'm wearing my maternity work trousers today too. I looked like a row of link sausages in my usual ones.

pauseplayrepeat · 18/05/2017 16:29

Angielka I thought I felt flutters the last few days but then at the scan baby was much lower than where I've felt the bubbling Confused. Also the baby was moving around loads and I couldn't feel a thing, so now think what I've felt is wind or a figment of my imagination Smile

Also cracked and ordered maternity jeans. Bring on the comfy waistband!!

mamalovesviolet · 18/05/2017 17:04

I can't remember when I first felt something within my daughter but when she got going she really did. She moved all day and all night. It was so ruddy irritating!! Those bloody legs kicking around like she was riding a bike!! I hope this one gives me a little bit more of a rest.

Peachi82 · 18/05/2017 18:33

"Cooking" for the first time in ages. Only pasta bake, but I cut some veg to go with it for a clean conscience.

Since it's my first baby, I'm really curious how the movements will feel like Smile

ScotsLamb · 18/05/2017 19:15

Just tried to post the same thing twice and it still not worked. Gist of the story was:
Met hospital midwife.
She's better than dr midwife.
I get to keep her all pregnancy.
I'm down as 9 weeks on her wee doo dah but I think I'm only 8+4 but what's a few days when it's still 224 days away to due date.

My new favourite classic thread is about a hedgehog! Have a read.

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/05/2017 20:05

Evening all. It's been rather quiet today on this thread considering how we usually chat. How are you all doing? Hope you're all ok.

glastogal · 18/05/2017 20:17

Evening all.. I just ate some veg!! 🙌 With bangers, mash and gravy. Determined my 2nd trimester is gonna be healthy because this first one has been atrocious. Been eating my anxiety and put on a tonne (more or less). Fingers crossed I can relax a little and eat sensibly aftery scan next week.

Good luck to the ladies having their scans tomorrow.. and hooray for a lovely midwife Scots 😁

Glasto I ate a load of melon at the start of the week and an apple today - I feel like a hero hahaha. I honestly have eaten so terribly but I just want beige food. I feel the need to eat suddenly and have to grab filling carb based plain ish foods quickly. Hoping it'll get better in the next couple of weeks and then for mine and the babies sakes I can go back on more of a structure like when I was loosely following slimming world.

Brens13 · 18/05/2017 20:44

Yeay well done on the veg! I really need to start doing that again.

Some might have seen on Facebook but I've got my scan date, yeay! 12th June. Which is ideal as my DH and I are already off that week so don't need to take more time off. Nice to have something to focus on as have not had an early scan or any really strong symptoms. Fingers crossed all is OK!

MontyPants · 18/05/2017 20:46

Hi thread 5!
I had another weird and rude dream last night. This time I was having sex with Leonard from Big Bang Theory 😳😳😳

MotherofUnicorns · 18/05/2017 21:32

Hi everyone, i have been a bit quiet recently but just due to being busy at work really,
I can't compete with all the symptoms,i think i have got away quite lightly. I am sicky in the mornings and have to eat fairly quickly when i get up and then as long as i don't get too hungry i am ok...
Obvs i think this is because i am not really pregnant and it is all a figment of my imagination!
i have a scan booked for saturday privately - i should be 9+6 by then. fingers crossed all is ok.

I felt movement at about 18weeks with my first and about 15 or 16 with my second. It is really weird - like bubbles popping at first then it gets a little stronger.
I think anything before then is wind or ligament stretching probably.
Good luck with scans everyone - can't wait to see the pics.

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/05/2017 21:41

Oh Monty that does sound odd!!!

Brens that's exiting re your scan date. I can't wait for ours to come through.

Unicorn great to hear from you. Hope all goes well with your scan.

ScotsLamb · 18/05/2017 21:48

Monty my OH told me I act like Sheldon when I'm grumpy. He said it's been more frequent lately! I thought that was bad but you win!

I'm not sure I like typing on the desktop site. Mobile site please fix soon.

glitteryvibes · 18/05/2017 22:19

Had my booking in appt today, took over an hour even with my minimal medical history, lack of previous pregnancies and beautiful blood giving veins.

Nausea has been horrendous this week, vomited over 10 times yesterday but only 3 today.

Looking forward to seeing some baby shaped scans over the next few weeks!

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/05/2017 05:13

Morning. Guess who's awake at 5 again!!!!

Glad your booking in went well glittery even if a little long winded. Luckily mine wrote really fast so I think that helped.

Feeling anxious about getting a scan date, I have so much on with work and I can just envisage now that it'll fall on a day when I have meetings booked in. I hope not as I hate cancelling meetings.

CarlottaJo · 19/05/2017 05:49

@Mrsbluebell17 morning! Another 5am'er here! This week has definitely been my least favourite, I think being off work ill has given me too much brain space, worry worry worry! Hoping the scan tomorrow will help!

Another one who's diet isn't as I'd like it to be, developed a bit of a thing for cornflakes and an aversion to real meals x

ScotsLamb · 19/05/2017 07:05

I just want to wake up and not feel sick! Why is this too much to ask?!?

I'm making bread and butter with pupils today (I'm normally a Maths teacher) and my first thought this morning was "I wonder where the closest loo is".
Must remember that it's Friday!

Meeshel29 · 19/05/2017 07:11

8+1 today

First midwife appointment at 950☺️

Have an awful cold and chest, can't stop feeling sick and I'm so exhausted.

I could actually cry 😂😩
