So after all my worrying and fears of ectopic, no heartbeat or nothing there, we got to see out little teeny.
All well. Heart beating away.
Due date 21st December.
So glad we had private can first as we are now very excited about NHS scan which I don't think I would have without private.
Happy wee family here tonight.

Congrats @ScotsLamb ! Great pics 😄

Mrsbluebell17 · 05/06/2017 00:47

That's great news Scots. Great pics too.

I've been to sleep and now wide awake again. This is now my new routine clearly instead of 4am wake up. Hmm

Brens13 · 05/06/2017 05:40

Congratulations Scot pleased you've got some peace of mind ready to enjoy your NHS scan x

Zaberwocky · 05/06/2017 07:37

Now, to go in, or to call in sick ... my head does hurt and I do feel sick. And I can't be bothered to waste an entire ten hours playing on my phone ... I could go on if I desperately needed to. But with no work and being locked out of the computers I can't see much point!

I'd actually get more stuff done from home!

MaryShelley1818 · 05/06/2017 07:48

Hey everyone, had a horrendous 24hrs...started bleeding yesterday at 5pm, straight to A&E where we had over a 3hr wait. Saw a doctor who said as it was a Sunday night there was no one available to do a scan so she checked my tummy and did an internal examination and said it's most likely cervical irritation or a low lying placenta. She said she wasn't worried enough to order an earlier scan (I have my NHS one on Friday) and didn't think anything was going wrong. Bleeding is now just brown flecks in discharge and I've been told to have bed rest and avoid sex, lifting, basically any activity.
I feel physically sick and haven't stopped crying. I can't even imagine what I'll do if anything goes wrong.

Zaberwocky · 05/06/2017 07:52

Yeah Grin not going in... I'll wait for my headache to pass and use my non sick window to crack on with an essay.

Work didn't seem impressed at my calling in, but I don't really care anymore. They literally want me to come in, sit and do nothing for ten hours every day. It's crackers. I'm not even allowed to clean or do anything to occupy myself.

Lovely scan Scots Smile hope you can relax a bit now.

Miami81 · 05/06/2017 08:01

Oh @MaryShelley1818
I'm so sorry you are going through this worry. Good that your cervix was examined etc. And that bleeding seems to have tailed off. Ring your mw or epu and beg to be seen before Friday if you can. Such a long wait when you are worried. Here to hold your hand.

TipTop333 · 05/06/2017 08:03

Maryshelley I'm so sorry, that must be very terrifying for you. How many weeks are you now?
Personally I might try and push for an epu referral through a different channel such as GP. If you go to your GP and say you still have discharge then they could refer you directly. Friday is a long time to wait imo.
I have everything crossed that your little bean is nice and comfy Flowers

TipTop333 · 05/06/2017 08:04

Just thought, a week of bed rest is quite extreme. I would perhaps argue with your GP that it is very disruptive unless you know it is absolutely necessary and try and get a referral that way.

Peachi82 · 05/06/2017 08:05

Hello everyone!

Mary, fingers crossed all is good with you! A shame they couldn't scan you straight away, you must be very worried. I'll be thinking about you.

We had a mixed weekend... My poorly rabbit is over the rainbow, we went to the vets on Saturday and she agreed we've done everything we could (painkillers, water, force feeding). I was able to hold him until the very end and he looked so peaceful and just like sleeping. My brave little warrior.

Yesterday we went to my boyfriends parents for his pre birthday get together and also told them the news. They were over the moon, but will keep quiet until we had the scan.
We had to leave in quite of a rush because my nausea kicked back in and I just made it through the car journey before I got sick again at home. This daily puking is so annoying, I'm so fed up with it.

I'm 11+0 today, so 12th week, I really hope the sickness will stop soon.

Oysterbabe · 05/06/2017 08:05

How stressful Mary :(
I'm surprised they wouldn't arrange a quick EPU scan for this morning. It's going to a very long week for you Flowers

Zaberwocky · 05/06/2017 08:06

Mary I'm so sorry, the waiting is a specially designed method of torture.

Firstly, I think you should call your MW if you need her referral for the EPU. If you don't, call them yourself. Explain you're still in pain, some bleeding, and would like to be seen sooner if possible. Do all of this even if you aren't in as much pain as you were.

If the bleeding has tailed off, and you aren't in pain anymore, that's a really good sign. But please try to get yourself seen a little bit sooner, for the sake of your sanity.

MaryShelley1818 · 05/06/2017 08:07

12+2 today...I'm just trying to see it as a positive that it means they really weren't worried enough to refer for one...
They did give me the direct number for the ward to go direct if anything changes/gets worse.
It's literally a few pin pricks of brown on wiping...but just wish it would stop.

Zaberwocky · 05/06/2017 08:12

Oh Peachi, I know you're gutted, but you really did all you could for your rabbit. It sounds like he had an absolutely fantastic life with you, one full of love.

I really can't comment on your nausea! Logically, in the next week or so, the placenta should take over and make it easier.

However I seem to be raising a greedy little thing that wants the placenta AND everything I produce Grin the puking does become more tolerable though, but if it really is still driving you crackers in a couple of weeks I'd go see your GP.

Zaberwocky · 05/06/2017 08:16

Mary if it's reassuring at all, I'm 14+3 now and I'm still getting brown spotting every few days. I know it's so hard not to worry about, but the baby looks perfect.

I'd still call your MW, even just for a chat and some more reassurance. It's what they're there for, and I know mine would feel awful if I felt I couldn't call her about anything!

We're all here for a handhold though. Flowers Have you got someone looking after you?

MaryShelley1818 · 05/06/2017 08:29

Thank you so much everyone xx
Zaberwocky that is reassuring, thank you. I'll give her a call this afternoon.
DP is here with me and is being fantastic and positive. He was supposed to go to work last night but has a very lovely and understanding boss.

Lixon · 05/06/2017 08:54

So sorry to hear about the bleeding Mary Shelley, positive news from the examination but I am another one that would be pushing for an earlier scan in your position - you're st a gestation they could do your dating scan a few days earlier so could you go through the normal antenatal unit as well as EPU?

And I'm sorry for your loss peachi, sounds like you did everything possible and he had a comfortable last few days with you and the most pain free end he could, which is all anyone can hope for.

Lovely scans ScotsLamb, glad you can look forward to the official one now!

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 05/06/2017 09:10

@MaryShelley1818 Glad it's tailing off now. It's so scary when it happens! I had the same experience and ended up going to a walk-in EPU in a different hospital when mine refused to / couldn't scan me as an emergency after examination. Little Biker was absolutely fine and remained fine weeks later 😊 Good luck x

@Peachi82 Sorry for your loss 😞

Carley27 · 05/06/2017 09:12

Great news Scots and lovely scan pic! Glad you're looking forward to the NHS scan now.

Zaber good call not going in - sounds like it would be pointless anyway! When do you start the new job?

Oh MaryShelley Flowers So sorry to hear about the bleeding. It does sound positive that the bleeding is tailing off and that they weren't too concerned, but I agree with those saying to speak to MW/EPU. You won't be able to relax until you have a scan. Hope you're as ok as you can be given the circumstances.

Ah sorry to hear about your rabbit Peachi, you did everything you could have Flowers

caelbaas · 05/06/2017 09:31

Hello! New to mumsnet and EDD 2 December ... can I join?

Zaberwocky · 05/06/2017 09:42

Carley as soon as my DBS certificate arrives I can sort out my start date! It's been updated as 'printing' for the last seven days, so hopefully it'll show up this week so I can get started Grin

I feel a little bit in denial, like maybe I imagined the new job!

And welcome Cael Grin ohhhh we need a new thread!
