Due to recent sad news and at the suggestion of others, I have started this new thread. Let's hear everyone's news.......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsFish · 25/04/2007 13:42

Hopeitwontbebig - sorry i can't remember, it was a link off mumsnet somewhere

Luxmum · 25/04/2007 13:56

Hmmm, it just keeps saying a girl? I even tested it for DS1, and he aparently is a girl too.. I want a surprise, so don't really want to know the sex anyway. As an aside, how is it physically possible to gain 4 kg in one week?? I just weighted myself this morning, after feeling real chuffed with myself, I look pretty good, the bump is nice and high and it's not just a fat tire round my whole middle. My Dr is obsessed with mums weights, so's not going to be impressed when I see him again! Then again, how can you not eat tons of icecream in such glorious weather!? It's just impossible!

oh I just got the biggest rush of giddy excitement then when I thought about ringing everyone to tell them what we had! I so can't wait for September!

MrsMar · 25/04/2007 14:40

hello all, glad everyone's well and scans are going well, got three weeks for mine so I'm v jealous!

on the chinese sex thingy, pst is pacific standard time, which is 8 hours ahead of gmt (which is what it was when our babies were conceived) so I would have though -8 would be the right thing to do in the time zone. Mine came out as a girl, but I'm convinced it's a boy. I had a dream the other night I'd had to have an emergency scan as I couldn't feel any movement, and it was a boy. The sonographer kept saying "look, you can see his willy!" Not sure what either means, could go any way I guess, can't wait another three weeks!!

thanks for the tip about the chair mmoomar, I'll ask my boss about it.

sorry your dh won't be around for your birthday HWBB, great to have him back for your scan though!

sorry to cut and run, gotta dash, horrible work needs to be done! yuk! Have a lovely day everyone xxx

MrsMar · 25/04/2007 14:42

agree with the new thread idea too, great name canadianmum. Shall I post a few more times to take us over the threshold??! (work isn't that important hehehe!)

spraklynewthing · 25/04/2007 17:06

Hello everybody,
Just back from my scan and consultant visit. All that worry was for nothing. I have a very healthy contented baby residing in my...pelvis! All rolled up in a ball enjoying an afternoon kip. I had to get up and have a jig about to get some movement going . It was SO clear, all the little toes and fingers - the big tum is still there too!

Also found out the flavour..... it's a...........GIRL!

I was 100% convinced, for no reason, that it was a boy. Apparently not. I am delighted but I think DH was a little bit disappointed. Feel terrible for saying this as we are blessed to have a healthy baby and he will dote on her when she arrives into the world. Ming you must start thinking names, not sure Joseph is really unisex!

Will tell more about consultant tomorrow - was funny, if it's wasn't so bad........

Anyway - that's my exciting news for today.

Signing off for ice cream and sun!

MrsMar · 25/04/2007 17:12

that's great news sprakly!! Another girl, we're just girl-tastic here aren't we??? She sounds sooo cute too, all curled up! Bless!

MMooMar · 25/04/2007 17:19

Tried a few different ones of those predictor things ,all said different too...defo only one LO in there though.

By the way bump feels huge today, seems to have got massive in the last few days.look more like 7 months gone.

EdieMcredie · 25/04/2007 18:03

HIWBB-Don't know what I did to my rib, can't remember doing anything really it just gradually became more and more painful. Then when I became pg it hurt even more and now it's agony. The codiene helps but I don't want to take too much of it. Got physio on 2nd.

Good news Sprakly!! Another girl, can't believe how many there are now. We are not going to find out but I think it is going to be a boy for some reason.

Has anybody's DH/DP felt the baby? I can sometimes feel mine with my hand but then when DP tries to feel it stops!!

How did you get on pennypops?

Are we near 1000 yet.......

Hopeitwontbebig · 25/04/2007 18:13

Edie, that's strange about your ribs... wonder what's causing it. Does it hurt when you breathe? Hope the physio can sort it for you

I often catch baby kicking just in time and feel it with my hand, but it's never frequent enough for DH to feel it yet. I LOVE feeling baby kick....... until it gets biiiiiiiig, not looking forward to the foot sticking in ribs thing!

EdieMcredie · 25/04/2007 18:22

Its just one side and no it doesn't hurt when I breathe. Doc can feel a gap which is either dislocated cartiledge or broken bone

Its very strange...

Yes im the same with baby, more and more I catch it with hand but DP is really frustrated!

canadianmum · 25/04/2007 18:44

chinese gender predictor says girl for me too. I reckon they have a 50% chance of getting it right .

Congrats sprakly!! Can you do the test for us and see if it works for you??

I am just off to my first pregnancy yoga class, hope it's good......

OP posts:
sophus · 25/04/2007 18:47

Went to see midwfie today. Is anyone else flummoxed when she asks me if i have any questions. All i want to know is whether the baby is okay and that's about it really. Am i completely disinterested or just clueless, but i have literally nothing to ask. She did say that once we start antenatal classes that will raise more questions, but i feel like a dunderhead right now. I just want a healthy baby out of me at the end in whatever fashion it takes. On plus side MW said i was having the most "boringly healthy pregnancy imaginable" - only time i've been happy to be called boring.

MrsMar · 25/04/2007 19:12

I always forget to ask anything. I've got a billion questions going round in my head, but become medical professional shy when I'm actually there (happens with doctors too) I just sit there dumbly nodding! that's why I'm always on here!

My midwife at the last appointment said I'm smack bang in the middle range for just about everything that can be measured during pregnancy, so I'm the same, boringly average. Happy to be dull!!

spraklynewthing · 25/04/2007 19:23

gender predictor result: Boy

TinaLC · 25/04/2007 20:01

Gosh, I go away for a couple of days with work and come back to a huge number of posts, but very nice to catch up on all the news.

Am off out with DH for his birthday in a moment. Have put on what I think is very nice Isabelle Oliver wrap top which a friend donated and he says I look like I have been bandaged up! Who says romance is dead. Still I get my revenge as he is temporarily 2 years older than me which I shall remind him of occasionally this evening.

Canadianmum - let me know what you think of ante-natel yoga as am thinking about it but think I might fidget too much .

Gender predictor says it is a boy...we are going to find out so will let you know in a couple of weeks.

spangly · 25/04/2007 20:20

Thanks for updating me on the list HIWBB. I always forget. I can't believe there are so many girl bumps. Part of me wishes we'd found out now.

The chinese predictor said girl for me too but my instinct says boy at the moment.

minimenace · 25/04/2007 20:20

Hello

My scan is tomorrow (26th) and I'm so excited

but are my boobs ever going to slow down growing between now and September ?

I was a 34c before and am now wearing 36DD I thought they had stopped for a while and now it looks like I will have to go up another size soon. I thought I had every size of Bra I would ever need and now I need to go shopping again ... arrggghhh

Nicki10 · 25/04/2007 20:43

Evening all

It's interesting to see that the test has got it wrong already so can't be that reliable.

As for the boobs thing mine are massive normally unfortunately and they have grown but the thing I am really suffering with is leaky boobs. Seriously girls there is so much I could express now! . I wake up in the night because the sheet is so wet and if I'm not wearing a double thickness bra it goes straight through, not a great look when your out in town centre!.

On a mor positive note though I can't wait to buy the pram and cot and things. When do you think we can start buying these? I saw someone today with the orange and grey cameleon which is the one we are getting and was very envious

xxx

MrsMar · 25/04/2007 22:18

What time zone are you all putting on the chinese gender predictor? Whatever I put in I get a girl out... so sure it's a boy though!

I'm glad my boobs seem to have stopped growing, but the nipples continue their efforts to break free from the constraints of my bra!!!

I haven't bought a thing yet, in fact we haven't even cleared the spare room of all the junk that's in there (double bed, huge desk, giant telly on stand, large bookshelf with several hundred football trophies on, golf clubs and dh's spare bike) nor repainted, or found carpenter to build me some wardrobes! toooo much to do. My mum has said when I get to halfway (next week) she's taking me cot shopping so I'd better get my skates on. I've got to have the bathroom replaced, the whole house repainted and all the carpets cleaned in the next four and half months too!! Argh!
