Congrats on the great scan sophus!!! Your company sound great, I don't even get a special chair (not quite sure if I need one but apparently lots of other pregnant people have had them!) or to stop my crummy night shifts. How fab to have a driver, I'm v envious!

Holly29 · 23/04/2007 18:24

Sophus that's so fab! I wish my work would do the same - although they do constantly offer to carry stuff to court for me (I'm in the law). Congrats on scan. What a relief. Have updated the chart!

oh and this morning at work an indian colleague brought in some sweets which were basically strips of gram flour dough, deep fried and coated in sugar syrup. Bump was on a massive sugar rush but i acted totally bemused when sonographer kept mentionning that bump wouldn't stay still. And i trod in dog crap on way into hospital, tried to get rid of it all but DP had to sit there near my trying to avoid shitty converse in his face.
And i've gone from a 36A to a 38D - yeurgh.

honey2theb · 23/04/2007 18:53

Hiya Girlies!! havent been on for a while so im gona have a read to catch up!

I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and feeling brilliant!! I cant believe it. All of a sudden i feel sort of calm if that makes sense! I love my little bump too - its fab!
I went to mothercare to have a look at my buggy - im going for the phil and teds sport! My dads paying ;) I've started buying pink things now, so i hope the sonographer was right! ive got a few preggers friends though so im sure it wouldnt go to waste!

I hope everyone is well, and good luck to those with scans soon!

hugs

Hi All,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Good news on all the scan results!

MMooMar - glad your test results were fine, after my stressful week last week dh says that if we have another after this one he doesn't want any tests at all.

I've got a confession to make - we bought a pushchair at the weekend. I was only having a look on Ebay to see what was around and got a bit carried away with the bidding! Well I can't resist a bargain so I thought we might as well get it now. We've been given just about everything else we need from my sister and one of our friend's so it was nice to get to actually choose something myself!

MrsMar - I too had a clearout of the wardrobe at the weekend, and it is now looking very sad indeed. I'll just have to get back on Ebay .

Not felt any movement yet but looking forward to the first kick in the ribs!

xxx

Hello Everyone

I only found you all last week - my sister recommended Mumsnet to me ! I am 21 weeks pregnant, due on 1st September and had my scan today at Kingston. We have 2 daughters already (age 8 and 5) and found out we are having another girl !Good luck to everyone else having scans at the moment

Nettee · 23/04/2007 23:37

Hi everyone, Scan went well today - keeping the sex as a suprise. The doctor was fine with me having a home birth after the tear last time. So much waiting around in the hospital for two 10 min appointments though - never mind all done now and good news.

FlossALump · 23/04/2007 23:42

Hi everyone.

My scan is tomorrow and I'm a stressing. We have (cough cough) mislaid (git) my appointment letter and although I am fairly sure it said drink a pint I can't be 100% that it wasn't a litre... Ho hum. I suppose I should just be grateful I thought to ring and double check the time while at work today.

Hope everyones scans went ok today and good luck to spangly tomorrow!

Thanks Fio - it was like that for my scan with DS last time, I didn't have to have a full bladder, but this letter definately said I did have to. IMO the equipment is crapper in this neck of the woods so they need the bladder to bump the baby right up to the top! I'll go with a pint of water an hour before and take some drink with me to sip at en route. Thanks Fio. Am glad your scan went well, good news about the section and at your lovely italian dr!

Flossalump - Good luck for your scan today!!

Fiofio - congrats on your scan results, well done for not finding out, think I'm crumbling!

Nettee - congrats to you on your scan aswell!!

For those of you that were following my story about DH being away in Finland for my 20 week scan..... here's a recap/update....

This is me - DH informs me he'll be away in Finland during 20 week scan.
This is me - DH informs me that trip to Finland has been cancelled - hoorah
This is me - yesterday DH informs me that his trip to Finland has been re-booked on 13th June - MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!! (crying emoticon)

He feels really bad.... nothing can be done, he has to go. But I know I will be SO SO SO sad spending my birthday on my own.

FlossALump · 24/04/2007 09:35

OH no HIWBB. Although I have to say, I'd rather DP be away for my birthday than my scan. A birthday can be celebrated after/before the event. Oh, and you get another one next year! A scan is a scan and although extras can be booked ideally you want your partner there for them all don't you? Still understand why you are disapointed, am hoping this might make you feel a little better though!

spraklynewthing · 24/04/2007 10:00

Morning all!

Feeling remarkably better today - hurrah! . I slept the sleep of the dead last night from 8.30 right through (only one wee break in the night) until this morning. I think I have just been over tired. Have also upped the water drinking which I think helps enormously with general well being. Haven't felt the bean for a day or so which is odd, but sure everything is fine.

Very excited as builders are working really hard on new bathroom and it already looks 100% although minus toilet and sink! Can't wait for new bath experience! DH treated me to some Sanctuary mum-to-be bubbles and the like at the weekend so that's my weekend sorted, just need to find a good book!

Oh no! Hopeitwont what a bummer about your birthday....but I do agree with Floss the scan is top banana at the moment. Maybe someone could mine your DCs for a couple of hours on your birthday and you could treat yourself to a massage or a facial! ahhhhh lovely!

Purpleprincess - hope you are feeling better too. Is yucky this mood swing business.

Fio, Nettee & sophus- fab news from your scan. A very successful misson all round. Wonderful news.

Nicki - sorry to hear about your worrying time - hope things are settling for you.

Welcome amyclarasmum - hope you find the chat entertaining - we are a nice old (!) lot

I am also thinking prams/travel systems at the moment. I am completely out of my depth. I love the Jane Slalom Pro, The Quinny Buzz and the Silver Cross 3D. Which to choose?! I am stumped

To everyone else I have missed - HAPPY TUESDAY!

Hopeitwontbebig · 24/04/2007 10:30

Hi Floss and Sprakly, yep, I know you're both right. I just get a bit ahum ... precious .. on my birthdays!! Think it's an inner child thing . I still want to have balloons, cake, chocs, pampering, head patting etc . I'll never grow up!!

I'm glad you're feeling better Sprakly, it's amazing what a good night's sleep can do for your state of mind!

spraklynewthing · 24/04/2007 10:42

Do understand Hopeitwont but I'm terrible on my own birthday. It was my 30th this year and i didn't want to do anything, much to my DH and friends confusion. DH had to drag me out for dinner. I love other people's birthdays and my DH is just like you already planning his birthday in october. His 30th would have made Liz Hurley proud - it went on for WEEKS!

I think I'm a big fat birthday party pooper and not sure why. I think I have issues

Mind you it's our first wedding anniversary this weekend and I think I may allow myself a tiny glass of champers to celebrate...in my new bath

Hopeitwontbebig · 24/04/2007 10:52

Aw lovely Sprakly, how romantic to be pregnant on your first wedding anniversary!!

Snigger snigger, we had a 3 month old baby on our first anniversary.... wedding night baby! VERY funny telling people we were expecting when we'd only been married 2 weeks, he he. Poor DS2, he'll be so embarrassed when he works it out when he's older, he'll never be able to look at our wedding photos again!!

hannahsaunt · 24/04/2007 11:17

I was a honeymoon baby too and ds1 is a first anniversary baby .

Holly29 · 24/04/2007 11:19

Oh Hope, that's rubbish! I was stuck up in Newcastle for work on my birthday and I have to say it was totally rubbish.

Hm. I think you are going to have to pretend it is not your birthday that day and celebrate it later when he is back, with all sorts of cake, presents etc.

lol about your wedding night baby... Can I join the 'I'm going to be pregnany on our first wedding anniversary' club? Ours is on the 27th July and I will be HUGE! It is paper, isn't it, so I am going to try to find something paper-related to do (aren't bank notes made of paper?
