@boxesoffrogs have you tried looking in Oasis - there were a few dresses there which I found suited a small bump, I know they arent maternity but I found them quite good

Hi all,

I'm another one who isn't massively organised. We went to look at prams at the weekend but the one we liked (Silver Cross Pioneer) is so expensive, even though my parents are giving us money towards it... from Mothercare with the car seat and base too it will be about £900! I have found a good deal online but not sure if I can trust the website. We did but a few sleep suits just to get started as felt that at just over 20 weeks we should get something. Oh and I ordered some swaddle blankets yesterday.

Re movement... I have been feeling pokes and prods most days but today have been a bit paranoid that I didn't feel much yesterday and haven't really felt anything today. I am only just over 21 weeks and I know that they say you don't need to monitor properly until 24 weeks but I can't help but feel a bit paranoid. I considered contacting the midwife but don't know if I'm just being dramatic. What are others experiences of movement around 21 weeks?

ThatGirl82 my movements have been really erratic too, I'll be 22 weeks tomorrow and have days when I feel quite a bit, and then other days when I feel hardly anything, which always worries me! It made me feel better to read on here how much they sleep at this stage, and I think so much depends on where they are lying and how they are facing. I hope it settles into a more regular pattern or I can see myself worrying an awful lot!! Xx

We looked at the Silver Cross it is super smart but think we are going for the new Uppababy - just need to decide on colour as we arent going to find out gender before hand!

I've just sorted my maternity leave out today with my boss. She's a total idiot & actualy said I'm leaving her in the shit! because it's our year end 31st August (I work in an accounts dept) as if you'd say that I'm tempted to tell HR, she's known I'm pregnant for ages & I don't have to even tell her just yet but wanted it out the way so I can relax. Anyway I'm finishing Friday 25 August have 3 weeks holiday to take first then mat leave starts 19 sept. Eek not that long left at work really. xx

Thanks for the reassurance bumblebees and cath. Looking online did reassure me a little but you can't help but worry can you. Hopefully it will get more regular over hten ext couple of weeks as baby grows.

Cath which is the Uppababy pram you are looking at? Could you post a link? I'm really struggling to get my head away from the Silver Cross so if I see something else nice I might be persuaded to spend less money.

Gem that is a really shitty and unprofessional comment for your boss to make. Is there any chance she was joking? I'd be tempted to say something like "oh sorry, next time I'll check with you before I try to conceive" , but you never think to say anything like that at the time. Luckily my manager has been lovely, it will be a bit of hassle as I am leaving soon after I start a new project, but it's just the way it is so tough!

I am afraid I dont think it is any cheaper! I am not sure which Silver Cross one I tried at the weekend, I found the Uppababy a little lighter and easier to handle - but each pram suits a different person!

I do know that places are selling the 2015 version for a couple hundred or so pound cheaper

it is by no means light - but I need something which is reasonably substantial as we live quite near the river and the paths are not paved

@Cath1212 that pram is lovely. If I was buying new I'd probs be persuaded to get that one over silver cross. I live in middle of nowhere but will be in car to get to places & town to meet up with people so the 2nd hand silver cross will do me.

@thatgirl82 my boss wasn't joking & was trying to persuade me loads to stay an extra few weeks to train someone new but I stood my ground & said cam you not get anyone to start later or get one of the other 3 people I'm my dept to do the training as I need to think of myself. I'm just pleased it's sorted now even of she was a bit awkward, it's a weight off my mind. I have a feeling ill be really anxious near the end & just want to relax before.
Our parents also wanted to buy our pram but since we've been offered a free silvercross I said hey can get the cot & maybe some little bits for the nursery lol xx

Felt lovely to get to the 5 month mark this week, seemed like a big milestone but have been hit by a wave of hormones and exhaustion today - very tearful for no real reason and so tired, thought I was past that stage!!

On the plus side, I'm now lying in bed and baby seems very lively, just love feeling them move and all the little flutters and bubbles! Definitely cheering up my day!

How annoying about the name TippetyTapWriter, a couple of my favourite girls names have been taken by friends and family in the last year, and the ONLY boys name I really like at the moment DH isn't convinced on - hoping I'll get some more inspiration too!

bumble I went through a period of feeling v emotional a few weeks ago too, probably also around the 5mo mark. Anything slightly stressful would start it off, I'd well up and not stop for ages which was really annoying as I hate being tearful! Seems to have abetted a bit now luckily.

Also ladies I just made the biggest pillow investment ever but it was soooo worth it: a bbhugme pillow. I got it off Scandibørn (weirdly accurate autocorrect!) and I have a 10% off code if anyone wants it. It's one of those huge long pillows but it's got a special filling that just makes it so comfy especially under my bump. I'd had a few weeks of being really uncomfortable at night to so when it (finally) arrived it was a godsend. Even DP wants one ha.

Anyone else find the hot weather awful? I just turn in to a sweaty mess.

@GimbleInTheWabe the pillow sounds good I've been struggling to get comfy the last few weeks as my bump seems to have suddenly got a lot bigger could you post the discount code please. It's so hot here today & just feel like I'm going to boil lol I always used to be freezing but am constantly hot since being pregnant so the hot weather is a struggle. Not complaining though it's nice to get some sun. 🌞

I've decided each time I go shopping I'm going to buy nappies/wipes etc so I'll build up a collection & it won't seem like spending so much money at once xx

Hello ladies, i havent updated here for a long time and i left the facebook group a while ago.
Our little girl, Aurora-Grace was born sleeping at 00:35 16/6/2017, at 21weeks 6days she was just 300g and too perfect for this world. Still in hospital with the baby at the moment and looks as though we are going home tomorrow which me & OH are dreading, dont like the thought of our baby girl being here on her own.
