My scan was today too, all ok as far as they can see! The baby was very curled up making things difficult but they seemed to manage everything they needed to. Pram shopping time now!

Really glad to hear lots of people have had good scans today, I have been lurking a bit and not posted for a while as I have been really worried about my total lack of bump!!! Pleased to say that today I caved and went for a private scan at 18+5 just to make sure baby seemed ok and there they were on the screen, yawning and kicking and looking just perfect, it was the best thing I have ever seen! Obviously I am still waiting for the anomaly scan next week and keeping everything crossed that all is as it should be but right now I am on cloud 9 just knowing baby is in there wriggling around with a good heartbeat!!! I can't stop smiling!

We haven't bought anything yet either other than a very cute pram suit DH bought me as a surprise for our anniversary, but I have been researching and I don't think it will be long before the poor credit card takes a hammering!

Glad all scans are going well. My bump seems to have shot out at 19 weeks... and my boobs... I look like a big swollen caricature of myself... just tried breathing in, there is just a massive lump... a good sign I think? One more week to wait until we know what we are having, I always thought I would not find out, but not I am too impatient!

Good luck next week boxesoffrogs, is yours a week today too? I'm still wanting to keep the gender a surprise at the moment but I am soooo curious, I can understand you changing your mind!! Will see if I crack next week!

I'm 20 weeks, due 9th October with our first baby. Just had our scan so now know I'm in team blue. I've been super worried the entire pregnancy (I had a miscarriage last year and was terrified of it happening again) but everything looks good so far and finally feeling a bit more relaxed after my 20 week scan. I've just started really feeling the baby kick, which is exciting

boxes and bumblebee my scan is next tues (30th) too!! I'll be 22 weeks though. I wonder if the baby will look sooo much bigger? Do you just see parts of it rather than the whole baby?

Welcome KimJade! Congrats on your pregnancy and I'm sorry to read about your miscarriage, you'll find lots of support here :) there is a fb group but hopefully one of the other ladies will post about how to join as I don't use fb!

Excellent Gimble, the 30th is going to be an exciting day I'll be 19+5 but it still feels like I've been waiting forever, waiting till 22 weeks must feel like a lifetime! I had to wait until 13 weeks for my first scan though, despite registering with the midwife very early. It's strange how they seem to vary so much depending on where you live.

My next scan is also the 30th!

I had an additional scan at 16.5 weeks and it looked so much bigger than at 12 weeks - so imagine even bigger still now!

Woo super scan day on the 30th then!!

I'm having an extra cardiac scan before the anomaly one as the doctor said at the 12 week scan that the heart was fractionally over the 95th percentile or something but that it's not anything we should worry about. Obviously I'm worrying about it! Has anyone else had this? I don't think he'd say 'don't worry' unless he was confident and heart beat was all normal at mw appt as was my blood pressure etc. Am I just worrying unnecessarily?!

I think it is impossible not to worry when someone mentions something even slightly out of the normal! I am having a cervical length scan at the same time as mine, which is playing on my mind as well
I am sure it is fine, like you said they probably wouldn't say dont worry unless they were reasonably confident all is well x

Gd to here all the scan news i hav mine next week hut couldnt wait so had a private scan on sunday and its a boy yay although no great scan pics they did a 4d one n u can just work out his hands are over his eyes and u can c his little nose n lips 😊

@GimbleInTheWabe The baby will be loads bigger and you get to see loads more of it. I found it absolutely fascinating! They check all the organs and even which direction the blood is flowing through the heart. We didn't get very good scan pics this time - our 12 week one was better - I guess the baby is too big now to fit in the photo well. It was an amazing experience though.

I can totally relate about the long wait for scans - it's excruciating! My "12 week" scan didn't happen until 13+4 and I thought I was going to lose my mind while waiting for it. In the end I had an early private scan at 10 weeks, and so glad I did because I'd convinced myself the worse was going to happen and worrying like that can't be good for the baby. It as such a relief to get some reassurance.

Got my scan tomorrow, eek! Pretty nervous though it seems to be coming out as grumpiness today. Midwife said my scan will get referred to foetal medicine team (due to ds supposedly having enlarged ventricles in the brain though they've since declared he's fine). Does anyone know what this means? Will there be someone extra there tomorrow or do you think they'll send my scan pics/results off somewhere? Just hate the thought of having to wait even longer to get the all clear.

Is anyone else super emotional at the moment? I thought it was meant to get a bit better in the second trimester but I am so tearful. Its so hard when you just dont feel in control of your emotions. There isnt anything particularly wrong but anything can upset me at the moment!

Good luck tomorrow TippetyTapWriter, I hope you get the all clear nice and quickly, I know how nervous I was on Tuesday for the private scan (my heart was beating so hard I thought it might burst out my chest!) and I'm sure I'll be just the same for my anomaly scan next week!

I am an emotional wreck too Cath1212, I am up and down and all over the place, excited and anxious and happy and tearful all at once, and I cry at the drop of a hat!

I am glad that someone else is the same. I am normally pretty independent, good social life etc but finding I am really needy with the hubby and the smallest things he does upsets me - must be driving him nuts!!

Had my 20 week scan today. All seems well with our baby girl and now seems very real!!! Good luck to those with scans soon.

I have been feeling emotional too but mostly in the sense that I'll randomly, out of nowhere, get a rush of emotion like I could cry on the spot but for absolutely no reason at all. I've always been the person who cries at films so that's the same! The news terrifies me more than usual though.

I had a dream last night that I got my scan done in Tesco (obviously!) and that it was a healthy boy so now I'm convinced ha!

Great to hear about all the good news from people's scans. I had mine yesterday and a cardiac scan too as I have a slightly high risk of Downs Syndrome in this pregnancy. The baby was doing some rather advanced yoga position and I had to go and get a cold sweet drink to get him moving so they could see everything!

The results were good as they didn't spot any general concerns and told us we most likely have a very tall boy. There were no visible markers for Downs Syndrome either.

My son was very cross to be in a room with four screens and none of them were showing anything interesting as far as he was concerned. No cartoons at all!

Had my scan today, all seemed good! Still not quite sure what happens with the review but at least there's nothing obviously wrong at this stage. And we're having a girl!!

Glad to hear everyone else's scan news too! We had to distract ds with biscuits cineraria but very glad my dh got to see scan! Maybe they should have one screen playing CBeebies...

Glad everyone's scans are going well. Mine isn't until 7th June.

How is everyone handling the heat? I have found the combination of ice packs, ice lollies, and a hand held fan, makes life slightly better.

Hi all, hoping to join in if ok! I'm 20+3 and due on 10th October. Had our 20 week scan on Tuesday and all went really well, found out we are having a little boy so very excited! Congratulations to everyone else on here!
