Hey bumble don't worry, I hardly have a bump either and no movement felt yet at 17+1. We're all so different! Good luck tomorrow.

KitKatSplat · 08/05/2017 21:54

Evening all, checking in. Felt fantastic yesterday and went to the gym and blitzed it, but work today was long as usual (9 - 7.30pm) and it's just tired me out :( I need to cut back on these hours or else I am going to use up all of my evenings and weekends sleeping and recovering. Also visited my first baby shop on the weekend - that was terrifying! Highly intimidating, not going to lie. So much stuff and I have no clue what you do with it!

Speaking of exercise, can anyone recommend any YouTube video workouts for pregnancy? All the ones I have seen are a bit dull and not very exciting :/ I'm pregnant, not 95 years old!

mrsbumblebees · 08/05/2017 21:55

Thank you Smile, very glad to hear I'm not the only one lacking a bump at the moment!

Cineraria · 08/05/2017 22:18

Ouch, loopy that sounds sore. Hope the consultant can reassure you that, aside from the discomfort, it won't cause any problems for you. I have an abdominal scar from surgery to correct a pyloric stenosis when I was six weeks old and apart from being painful as I got bigger when I was pregnant with my son, it didn't cause any difficulties. I can't feel it at all this time so I'm guessing whatever was attached came away last time. Is yours quite recent?

I'm another oldie; I turned 42 a week after I found out I was pregnant. I love the way pregnancy plumps the skin out and makes it look younger!

TippetyTapWriter · 09/05/2017 08:33

Good luck today loopy and confused.

I have a c section scar and I think it's started to be painful since the weekend - hurts a couple of centimetres above the visible scar in the left hand side. Also feels like there's a puffy line above the scar though that doesn't hurt. They saw a fimbrial cyst near my left ovary on the 12 week scan so not sure if that's what's hurting or the scar? Might mention it to midwife if it carries on as it got really painful on Saturday though it's not been as bad since. Just hope scar won't get really painful as I get big!

GimbleInTheWabe · 09/05/2017 08:56

Good luck with your appointments today everyone!

I can't believe it's less than 3 weeks til my scan at 22 weeks Grin has anyone else found that the second trimester had gone so much faster?!

I've been feeling a bit of movement since about 16 weeks, more so the last week where I'll usually feel a prod when I'm sitting still or in bed at night. I'm 19+1 now though and have a bump, but I still think I look bloated ha.

Anyone else having lots of baby related dreams? I've had dreams where I'm giving birth, ones where I'm looking after baby and soooo many dreams about breast feeding where I can 'feel' the sensation in my sleep. Is this my mind preparing itself I wonder?!

10storeylovesong · 09/05/2017 11:04

Hi all, sorry I've not been on here much. I've been struggling a lot with anxiety linked to the prem birth of my ds. The closer I get to 21 weeks (when all the problems started) the worse I seem to be getting. Insomnia, nightmares, flashbacks, sleep walking... the lot. I have a non sleeping 4 year old and work 10 hour days with a hour commute each way, so really struggling with exhaustion at the minute. Plus still being sick! I have a promotion assessment on Thursday (all day affair) and dreading it as can barely string a sentence together.

I finally had my 16 week check yesterday (at 19+2!) and found out that that was a test they should have done at my 12 week scan by internal exam that wasn't done. They're going to do it at my 20 week scan but it's too late really as it can only be helped before 17 weeks. I did however come away with scans booked for 28, 32 and 36 weeks along with consultant apts after each scan, my apts for GTT and 28 week bloods, a referral to consultant anaethestist due to previous issues, physio because of bad hips and hypnobirthing classes because of anxiety. Work are going to love the sheer number of apts I have! I heard baby's heartbeat but couldn't count it as he kept moving!

On a final note, had a panic attack last Friday and ended up booking a last minute scan for reassurance and baby couldn't wait to show my his wares... definitely team blue here!

SophieGiroux · 09/05/2017 12:55

@Corrinax I saw midwife at 17 weeks yesterday and heard the heartbeat, she said the top of the womb was just below my belly button if that helps.

I've been kind of feeling movement, it just feels like a big lump in there really, struggled to play sylvanian families on the floor with dd due to it!

Have been having a few issues with (sorry tmi!) faecal incontinence. There's no way I can do running anymore because of it. It's like the muscle has relaxed too much due to pregnancy hormones and can't keep things in Confused Keep doing pelvic floor exercises hoping it will help!

Corrinax · 09/05/2017 14:38

Thanks @sophiegiroux
My midwife had a trainee do mine she felt my belly but didnt say anything about womb i jist noticed that when they used the doppler theu placed the probe so low was like where my trousers sit under my belly/bump? X

SophieGiroux · 09/05/2017 15:04

Yes mine was low down too, think it takes awhile for them to go higher as they get bigger

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 09/05/2017 18:22

Confused, I don't want to worry you but low papp A is often an indicator that something is wrong, someone I know had low Papp A and lost her baby at about 18/19 weeks. But she then had low Papp A in her next pregnancy and was then fearing the worst and heavily monitored, but ended up having anlove baby from that pregnancy, and think he wasn't delivered until 37/38 weeks so all was well. I hope it went ok today?

I saw my consultant and midwife at the same time, and ended up crying a lot, was so scared that coming off the pred would have killed her, they were lovely and the consultant snuck me in for a scan and did it herself and all was well, heart beating and she measured the tummy and bang on for 16+3. She has said ELCS no later than 38 weeks, so the latest she will be born is 6/10 but hoping to arrange it for 5/10, sewing consultant again at 24 weeks and will scan me again then and book the ELCS that day. Then seeing her again at 28, 32 and 36 weeks, and she will do a scan each time for reassurance and to check growth towards the end as my boys were decent weights lol! Feel so relieved that she is doing ok in there. I should start to feel movement soon as it's a posterior placenta. She didn't seem to think scar tissue would cause a problem but said would look on scans later on in the pregnancy to make sure everything is in a good place so they know before they open me up.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 09/05/2017 18:22

Confused, that should read " a live baby"

ButterflyGem · 10/05/2017 07:40

I've seen a good deal on a pram etc on the Internet www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/20/53467/mamas-papas-urbo-10-piece-bundle-panama-grey/. It runs out on Sunday in tempted to purchase but don't have my next scan until 23rd & I'm a bit scared to buy just in case something wrong 😁 should I just buy it? Also has anyone else had really itchy tender nipples I've had this for the last week or so & feel like I could just rip them off lol do y know how to soothe them a bit x

doomkittycleo · 10/05/2017 08:02

Butterfly I bought my pram after my 12 week scan. If you want it, I'd just get it.

I'm feeling great this morning, my assignment that took the whole of the bank holiday weekend is back and I got 74% and it's my 30th birthday on Sunday. I've booked the week off so DP can take me away for a few days 😀😀😀. Yay!!!

Rayna37 · 10/05/2017 13:57

Butterfly Not sure that's such a good deal, it's a great best buy pram but £1340? The six piece bundle (i.e. including carrycot, car seat, isofix etc) full price from Mamas & Papas is only £949, are the extra bits worth that much? Rockers and bouncers aren't that much and the other stuff is the type of thing you might get as a gift.

Corrinax · 10/05/2017 14:14

@rayna @butterfly

Thats exactly what i thought as i was looking at the silver cross wayfarer n u can get the set in a deal for 640 quid from pramworld now thats a bargain!! Although i might treat baby to the mothercare chelsea range which all comes to 900 so still a good price!!

Plus im just going to buy the next2me crib and bottles as will try breasfeeding i dont think theres much else to get but then again 1st baby and i will prob get a shock

mummabubs · 10/05/2017 16:13

I was about to say the same to Butterfly - it's cheaper to buy it from mamas and papas! Plus (this is what we've done), if you buy from them in store you can pay a 25% deposit which is completely refundable at any time if you change your mind and if the price gets reduced further between you paying the deposit and collecting it when bubba is due they'll honour the lower price. Really good and completely risk free! Xx

Rayna37 · 10/05/2017 18:26

That's good to know mummabubs. I subscribed to Which? For £1 and studied the prams at the weekend which helped me to narrow my choices down to the iCandy Peach or M&P Ocarro/Urbo. Need to get properly hands on with the final 3 now!

ButterflyGem · 10/05/2017 18:57

It's on offer all that for £729 half price. I do like the silver cross ones so will probs look elsewhere thanks all hope u are well I'm off to my local women's institute meeting lol xx

mummabubs · 10/05/2017 19:46

Ahhh I see! (Sorry, thought the big price was the sale one!! Baby brain 🙈). I fell in love with the mamas and papas Flip XT2 in chestnut but hubby didn't feel comfortable spending that much so we've gone for the Sola 2- slightly less storage and no vent space but other than that it's the same spec as the Flip but nearly half the price. 😊 (I'll still dream of my Chestnut fantasy but I suppose it's easy to get pulled into spending loads)!

DebsOctBaby · 10/05/2017 20:22

I really had my heart set on a Silver Cross wayfarer but when I went for a test run, I was disappointed. I've ended up going for a completely different option, a made to order British designed travel system with the best chassis on the market - a Mee-go Milano. Loads of brilliant added extras and starts from just £699 for carry cot, pram and car seat. Love that even the back in the carry cot is adjustable for when they are sitting a little. Only snag, have to go to independent retailers and my local shop is now taking orders for August delivery! Check it out though, quality superb and feels more expensive than icandy or silver cross

mummabubs · 11/05/2017 06:54

Meant to add that our Sola 2 6 piece bundle came in at £480 after bank holiday discount (think it's usually £530) and that's for pushchair, carry cot, car seat, isofix base, cup holder (😂) and adapters.

leannejade · 11/05/2017 07:22

I totally rushed into my pram decisions. I mean, I love the one I got. It's a Billie Fairers travel system one in a star print, so it's very "me", and I've had a push around and I do like it, but I'm not even sure it'll fit in my boot lol! I do have a Ford Ka so I'll struggle whatever pram, I'm sure!

doomkittycleo · 11/05/2017 08:39

LeanneJade I drive a convertible so you can imagine the size of my boot. I got a bugaboo bee cus it's really small n that only just fit 😂.

mummabubs · 11/05/2017 11:21

I had a convertible til last July when we started talking more seriously about TTC... I now drive a Qashqai. 😂
