Just left leaving send off! There was cake, and flowers and White Company stuff for baby and me. Very kind of them. Our manager made a speech but thankfully after that it was just like a normal coffee break and I didn't have to say anything.

jennymac31 · 31/03/2017 12:05

Nursebickypegs - thanks for the response. Will probably give midwife a call to be on the safe side.

Rustler74 · 31/03/2017 12:06

@jennymac31 Many hiccups on one day here, none on another! No cause for concern.
I'm with you on the mingling, I really can't bear a room with many people! Promising for the wedding I'm attending 12 may!

Rustler74 · 31/03/2017 12:07

Ladies, only one week since starting this thread and we are well over halfway !

jennymac31 · 31/03/2017 12:08

Whoops - just wrote my response without realising others had also sent replies. Apologies xx

Rockyroad17 · 31/03/2017 12:10

Wait, hiccups could be a bad thing?! Confused The midwife suggested to me it was good as it counted as movement of sorts...and that it means the baby is practising breathing (or something like that).

savagehk · 31/03/2017 12:13

hiccups are normal. If you're not sure if the movement you're feeling is hiccups, then get it checked out. This one has them very occasionally, first one never did I don't think.

savagehk · 31/03/2017 12:15

typically, mine's now got hiccups. Are they contagious Grin

Teaspoon74 · 31/03/2017 12:34

Wow Rise - good skills on tidying and mobilising that fast!! Who's military again?!? Fingers crossed the viewing goes/went well!!

And congrats Rasperry, Tea, Yellow and others finishing today. Must be a weight off. Ticky that sounds lovely too Smile

Jenny totally with you on crowds! We went to an art fair PV last night and I swear if one more person had elbowed or shoved me I would've ripped down a picture and smashed them with it!!! OH was great - elbowing Dom who were unrepetentantly rude and shovey. A lovely eve of art and passive aggression ;)

Nurse I've been hankering after a dyson for the nursery. And was also toasting last night. Feel like my personal thermostat is broken Confused

Quick question - i'm just shy of 34wks now and over the last 2 or 3 days I've had a different, lower, sensation akin to proof cramping, but very specifically around cervix/groin. Could that be start of engagement?? And given that she is breach, should I. E concerned about that?? Anyone who's been and done before and has a view - thoughts appreciated!

Tickyboovicki · 31/03/2017 12:50

quick question, i have had stomach ache all day. definitely not BH (i dont think) as its not coming and going/a tightening feeling, more just a constant stomach ache that i have had all day. sometimes it literally takes my breath away, sometimes it seems just irritating.
avoiding calling the midwife as i'm worried it probably is just a general stomach ache, and dont want to have to leave work etc when its my last day anyway.
drinking lots of water so dont think its anything to do with dehydration.

anyone experienced anything similar? im 35 1/2 weeks

peasandquiet · 31/03/2017 12:51

Hi everyone!

Hope all last days go well, 2 more weeks for me.

Rise- I hope they buy the house then it's job done - you really don't need to be keeping your house like a show home in your condition!

We have a dyson fan! It was bought in the 2014 heatwave while I was in the grips of HG with my first. Only fan left in JL and I was so desperate!! It's a hot/cold one and has been so handy over last 3 years, was brill for heating the room overnight when LO was newborn and we were awake for feeds and will hopefully be equally as good this time for keeping us cool. Really noticing the temperature increase overnight. Have bought a maternity/nursing bamboo fabric nightie that should come later. Hoping I'll be a bit more comfortable sleeping in that.

EsmesBees · 31/03/2017 13:13

The best thing about the dyson fans is that the make a low white noise which always helped my DD sleep.

I'm boiling at night at the moment too.

Hope all goes well with the viewing rise and that you have a buyer soon. That's really keen to come round so quickly.

Ticky could it be constipation? A common pregnancy issue. I've had it a couple of times and it does cause stomach cramps.

Teaspoon no idea, but maybe she's turned round if you are feeling movement in different places?

Teainbed sounds lovely. White company baby stuff is lush.

Tickyboovicki · 31/03/2017 13:48

@EsmesBees don't think it's that, I haven't struggled with it yet but will wait and see.
Just over 3 hours of work left. Fingers crossed this pain doesn't get any worse so I can get through it!

RedBlu · 31/03/2017 13:53

We also have a dyson fan, it's been on full blast most nights for the last week or so as I am so hot. Might have to buy another one for the nursery.

I am feeling pretty rubbish, I am not dealing very well with being off, I am so bored - I have nothing to do. My SPD is playing up again, and I still feel off.

Am currently signed off until the middle of next week then I either keep getting signed off on a weekly basis or go back to work. I have already told my boss if I come back, I am going to be leaving at the end of April, taking two weeks leave and then going on maternity at 39 weeks.

RasperryInAMelon · 31/03/2017 14:26

It does seems bit surreal @EsmesBees - I think next week will just feel like I'm on holiday, after that might be a bit odd for 6 weeks!

Aren't the Dyson fans crazy expensive?...

Awww that's lovely @Tickyboovicki ☺

@jennymac31 sounds lovely, but I know the feeling - we have a friends 30th and as lovely as I know it'll be, I really could do without it tbh!

@1004Rise I hope you get to relax this afternoon!

@Rustler74 I've got a feeling these threads will fill even quicker as people are off! 🙈

@Teaspoon74 It was crazy hot last night hey!

FoxMulder · 31/03/2017 14:45

I caught up at last! Can't remember what I was going to say, of course.

teainbed · 31/03/2017 14:46

Ticky where is the pain? In the bump area or sides or behind? Don't put up with it much longer if it's bad.

Rustler74 · 31/03/2017 14:46

Just a thought for when this thread is full: could we sort of split up into different threads with recurring subjects or topics such as

  • common pregnancy issues
  • labour questions and experiences
  • meeting up?
... any more suggestions?
ShiniBerry · 31/03/2017 14:46

Hurray for everyone finishing work today! Am a little bit jealous of all the work love being received! Though i love my work, my colleagues never bother with any form of work gatherings or celebrating so I'm not expecting anything.

35 weeks today and feeling mahoosive! My back is so achy though i managed more sleep last night than any of the previous nights.

My scan consultant referred me to the hospital diabetes clinic which was this morning. I have to test my blood sugars 4 times a day for a week and then they will assess if i need to do anything.

Starting NCT classes tomorrow so looking forward to that! Our course instructor said to bring cushions and balls and stuff to be comfortable, did anyone bother with all that? Seems a bit annoying to have to lug it all on the train (we don't have a car either and will be taxiing to the hospital-cant remember who mentioned the black cab app but thanks!).

1004Rise · 31/03/2017 14:56

Caught up nowSmile

Yeay for the last days and nice that your colleagues recognised it. I'm not jealous at all honest!CakeBrew

@RedBlu that was my concern about stopping too early I'm not good at doing nothing!Confused

I've wanted a dyson fan for ages, can't really justify it because it's never that warm up here... baby and white noise could sound like a good excuse though.....Grin

So woman really liked the house, especially the kitchen (so she should I put a lot of effort into building those cabinets!! ) but has a son... sounds like he's in his teens and the EA said she's taking more of a lead from him. His one complaint was that the stairs were too small for his feet Hmm probably a good thing that the hormonal pregnant lady wasn't around to hear that! DH and I have agreed that as the pregnant lady takes 3 times as long to do things then she shouldn't accept viewings any sooner that 3 hours away because she'll break herself ConfusedBlush

MrsJW15 · 31/03/2017 15:33

I thought I replied to this but it got lost... apologies if it appears again!

Shini we got the same message, but obviously a lot harder if you are not driving! The NCT teacher drove, and brought a ball, but no one else did. We did take a small cushion for me to sit on - on the advice of a friend who said that the chairs weren't that comfy. Others did the same. DH carried it on the bus!

Rise that 3 hour gap sounds sensible!

FoxMulder · 31/03/2017 15:39

Oh FFS been calling the leisure centre weekly re preg yoga and they said they didn't have a start date and to keep calling back. Today they said it is half way through already! Aargh! I really wanted to do it!

newbieho · 31/03/2017 15:44

I have been really optimistic this morning and booked the ticket for the gig at the end June (I'm due mid May).

Please tell me it's feasible Confused

1004Rise · 31/03/2017 15:45

@FoxMulder AngryAngryAngry

RasperryInAMelon · 31/03/2017 15:49

@ShiniBerry I took a cushion, well worth it the chairs weren't comfy after two and a half hours!
