@Teaspoon74 don't ask don't get is my motto!

@1004Rise it has its days that's for sure - I won't miss the commuting!

@Badgerbird I've reluctantly had to take my piercing out this week (32weeks) the skin across the top was getting really tight and I was worried it would get infected. I might try and poke the bar through once a week or so just to keep it open. I mentioned to someone the other day on FB that as silly as it might sound in the grand scheme of things, I can't remember the time my belly button didn't have a pink diamond in the middle of it! 😂🙈

Did anyone see in the papers yesterday that the Radfors family are due with Baby No. 20!! 😱😳 love that family!

@dreamofhungarianlanterns I'll come back to your instructions later and have a proper read...

@EsmesBees 6 weeks! 😳 how far up are you working?

@1004Rise we have a wedding in Leeds (we live in London) which we'll be going to when I'll be 37+3

ShiniBerry · 30/03/2017 12:58

WishIWasSleeping vag oil! Grin bet it's a matter of time before someone brands it!

Teaspoon it's a very distinct smell isn't it?!

Raspberry how shocking that he had the audacity to question your need for a seat! Also shocked no one else bothered to give you a seat. I've been allowed flexi-time but on days when I have to go in during rush hour and get pushed and shoved on the tube I always am close to tears by the end of the journey. Just think it's only one more day of pregnant commuting!

Thanks for the birth plan tips Bean and NurseBickyPegs. And like everyone else I have a million lists going on my Google Keep notes. I jot down notes as soon as I think of them or I know I will forget whatever it was in 5 minutes.

I also know of someone who gave birth in an October and was pregnant again in November! I feel smothered these days when DH tries to hug or cuddle, so goodness know how it will be after birth!!!

The Oxford Uni hospital guide to perineal massage seems quite straightforward and informative www.ouh.nhs.uk/patient-guide/leaflets/files/10938Pmassage.pdf I can no longer reach down there either so DH will have to step up! Hmm

Gorgeous weather today and am sat home waiting for our SnuzPod delivery so have started washing baby clothes!

I'm working up to a week before my due date raspberry. Did the same last time. To be honest, I find a day at work, even with the commute and nursery run, much less tiring than a day looking after my toddler. Plus, I really enjoy my job. But yes, it will be tough. My major worry is going in to labour while I'm still in the office. But DD was 10 days late so not a huge risk.

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 30/03/2017 13:28

savage and rise high five to the Archers fans! Keep an eye out for me revealing our chosen name when little one makes an appearance Wink. Actually - that applies to first and middle names I've just realised!!! Blush

I've just bought a Close Caboo sling from Facebook, think it was esmes or teainbed that had good things to say about it waaayyy back in thread 3 ish??? My friend has one too and loves it.

1004Rise · 30/03/2017 13:37

@RasperryInAMelon I'll be 36+3 going from near Inverness down to Newcastle. Think I'll be in black with colourful scarf and sparkly flat (Sad) shoes and hope that no one notices I'm the size of a house Hmm I think my 92 year old Gran may last longer than me!! Shock DH was getting the 3rd degree by FIL yesterday about whether we should be traveling, what we'd do if something happened while we were away.... he was completely confused by the fact I had my notes in paper form and I'd carry them with me Grin The fact that there are at least 5 Midwifes on the guest list is reassuring anyway!

peasandquiet · 30/03/2017 14:26

Shini out snuzpod has arrived this morning. If only I could lift the thing up the stairs I might try and build it!

MrsJW15 · 30/03/2017 14:35

Badger I'd use salt water on your belly button - boiling water mixed with salt basically. It's the best thing for it. Put it on cotton wool pads (once it's cooled) or buds. Really helps.

Dream thanks for the update! Haven't started this yet but think I should. Might need to get DH involved for angles and to avoid cutting my gel nails. Also I'm impressed with your succulents!

lucieloos · 30/03/2017 14:42

Sorry I can't remember who asked now but my cramping went away completely yesterday and hadn't come back so I've put it down to completely overdoing it the day before with painting and decorating. Definitely going to take it a lot easier from now on.

When are people starting to pack hospital bags? We also have a snuzpod, not sure how long to leave it before putting it up? 37-38 weeks?

1004Rise · 30/03/2017 15:06

I definitely don't have enough baby space today, either that or this baby has suddenly grown the legs of a giraffe, seriously considering how/if I can lie on my side and still use my laptop Hmm

EsmesBees · 30/03/2017 15:08

dream yes it was me who recommended the close caboo. Well remembered! I love mine. Have actually lent it to a friend so need to get it back.

Archers fans- have a look at the long running thread in radio addicts. Dd's bedtime has crept from 7 to 7.15 so I often don't get to listen these days.

That's good news Lucie.

PowerofThree · 30/03/2017 15:09

I have suddenly (since yesterday afternoon) developed hot and itchy hands and arms. Anyone know if this is normal? It is suddenly warm and sunny here so could just be that.

MrsJW15 · 30/03/2017 15:59

Power that doesn't sound fun. No idea if it's normal or not! My hands are definitely hot and a bit puffy today.

Trying to decide if I have the energy to swim this afternoon. I wish there was a pool where I could mostly sit and splash around not just lane swim! It's good exercise but very tiring!

teainbed · 30/03/2017 16:01

I've 80-90% packed lucie. Might need to check things again nearer the time. Also put a list on the top of a few things that need added at the last minute in case someone is bringing it to me rather than me going myself.

PowerofThree · 30/03/2017 16:15

MrsJW it is quite distracting! Spoke to a midwife who said that as I have an appointment next week anyway they don't need to drag me in right now but it is still a problem they will do some blood tests then. I am with you on a pool for splashing not lanes! I would love that too.

nursebickypegs · 30/03/2017 16:35

@savagehk @Autumnsweater @teainbed oh my god I haven't even thought about contraception! I was on the pill which gave me amazing skin but huge migraines. I'm considering the coil. I've assisted on implant insertions and they are awful and I personally don't think they are "successful", and seen a lot of women caught out. Also getting them out...

@RasperryInAMelon it makes me so mad! People are so rude. DH is a utter mouthpiece and will always say something really loud if people are bumping into us or not giving up their seats. I always give up seats for people pre pregnancy. Good for you for asking, rather than being passive aggressive like myself!

I also love the Radfords! I'm an only child with young parents, and I'm so envious of big families. DH is from a blended family and is like one of 7. Imagine Christmas in their house!

@MrsJW15 I find H+M are so hit and miss, baby stuff is great but I find the sizing all over. I think it's because I'm plus size.

@WishIWasSleeping love that! A friend tagged me in it this week and I think with the heat/muggy weather, I am feeling it!

@dreamofhungarianlanterns I have that sling! I haven't used it yet but I can't wait.

@lucieloos take it easy. My midwife said to me that at this point we feel frustrated as our bodies want to keep going, but our babies and our energy say otherwise. I've take a week off swimming and walking, and literally sat with my feet up everyday. I've noticed a difference.

@MrsJW15 @PowerofThree go at public swim! Yeah it's full of excitable kids but you can just sit in the nice cold pool.

We wandered to the movies again to see Ghost in the Shell (joy of odeon limitless) and once again were the only ones in the screening. DH has his driving test tomorrow so we did some practicing in our (very very) old car. I've been driving since I was 17 (I'm coming up to 32!) but DH has suffered with seizures and never bothered. He's not optimistic he will pass, but it would be amazing if he did before Bub arrives.

Sipperskipper · 30/03/2017 16:39

Good luck to you DH tomorrow nurse!

Went to an aqua natal swimming class this morning....it was really good, but the other 15 or so ladies were all OAPs?! I couldn't work out what the hell was going on! I guess its just a nice gentle exercise class, but it did make me laugh.

nursebickypegs · 30/03/2017 16:45

@Sipperskipper that's like my aqua natal class! A few pregnant mums and then OAPS! The OAPS love my tattoos!

MrsJW15 · 30/03/2017 16:55

Nurse all the pools near me seem to do lane swimming in the evenings or have lessons. But I might check out the Olympic pool in Stratford tonight - it looks like they have both lanes and a more free style swim in the evening which I could do. Water definitely makes me feel more comfortable, but I'm pretty tired and don't want to overdo it!

Also Nurse when I was in H&M the other day, I spotted a sign saying that they recommend sizing up for maternity wear as you get later in your pregnancy. Slightly odd as that's not usually how it works!

lucieloos · 30/03/2017 17:23

Thanks esme, I bought a close caboo a while back too. I loved it after trying it in John Lewis with a doll type thing. Just seemed so use to put in and comfortable. Can't wait to use it.

Teainbed, how many weeks are you now? I'm 33 this weekend so wondering whether to leave it until 34-35 before I pack my bag.

Has anyone bought a new baby changing bag or just going with a normal bag?

Nurse, thanks for the tip. Definitely feels so much better now I'm not rushing around and doing too much. I'm really nesting at the moment and so much I want to do around the house but definitely going to take it easy. Hope your dh passes his test tomorrow!

Sipperskipper · 30/03/2017 17:32

Glad its not just mine nurse, thought I was in the wrong class! Felt like Private Godfrey from Dads Army though, kept having to be excused to nip out for a wee - for some reason the pool makes me feel constantly desperate!

PowerofThree · 30/03/2017 17:59

Slipper I don't know about swimming pools, but baths are making me feel desperate. Have to keep hauling myself out half way through my relaxing bath...

Sipperskipper · 30/03/2017 18:04

power that sounds like a nightmare! I really struggle getting out of the bath now, DH usually has to help me!

RasperryInAMelon · 30/03/2017 18:18

@ShiniBerry I'm feeling close to tears today... it's about 800degrees on the train and there are a million noisy Spanish kids screaming. I just want to get home 😩

@1004Rise I've checked out the local hospital in Leeds online just incase! Desperately need to find something to wear though!

@lucieloos good to hear you're feeling better. Our hospital bag is all but packed now

@nursebickypegs good luck to DH for tomorrow! 🚗

@lucieloos I've got two changing bags, a smaller Silvercross one which is the one that came with the pram and then a larger Babybeau one which DH fell in love with. I categorically told him that if he was spending £110 on a changing bag it was coming out of his own pocket so it did!

nursebickypegs · 30/03/2017 18:40

@MrsJW15 HAHA thanks H&M for stating the obvious!!! The pool really helps me as well, I feel so front heavy all the time and when I just lie on my back and rest... it's bliss.

@lucieloos I love nesting! I've been cleaning and tidying the house, bleaching everything and scrubbing every nook and cranny. Our dining room is used as our "library" and I need to get in there and sort out all the books on the floor.

@Sipperskipper we have 2 instructors; one is Eastern European and a total doll, and one is pure evil. The European lady is just so calm and gentle, "don't jump too high ladies, think of those babies!" & I love her. The other just shouts orders. I've been doing aqua classes for 7 years here in Notts and evil instructor has had the same music and same routine for all that time!!!!! I always go to lovely lady class instead!

I've just sat down and realised I haven't eaten. Every damn night!

nursebickypegs · 30/03/2017 18:42

Thank you everyone for your good luck messages! He's been driving with me since October and drives everyday now that I'm off work, he's had a few lessons but wants it over and done with. He says he's not optimistic (he's worried about parking) but if he fails, he's got something to work on. If he doesn't pass before baby is born and he can't stay overnight, he's going to go to the premier inn across the road. Bless him. I grew up in rural Lincolnshire so I had to drive!
