Interested in the birth options clinic, am still really undecided on what I want (dd was forceps/episiotomy) and here they're not keen on you going overdue. I'm dwelling on the delivery a bit!!!

londonfeather · 23/03/2017 13:28

On the dry skin - I have a random dry patch of skin on my face that I've had the last few weeks and dandruff which I've never had in my life before - I'm sure it's too do with the pregnancy. I've been forcing myself to drink water so don't think it's dehydration...

SuziePink · 23/03/2017 14:14

I've had problems with my skin for the last year and a half, very sensitive and very dry. The dermatologist recommended the Aveeno range and I've been using the cream, lotion and shampoo for a while now. I really like it as it doesn't irritate my skin, absorbs quickly, and has a subtle but pleasant smell so I'd certainly recommend anyone with dry skin trying it. I think it's on offer in various places at the moment.

Amz26 · 23/03/2017 15:32

Hey everyone i haven't been keeping up with any of the tread so just had a read through!
I'm sorry to hear you're having a rubbish time suzie

Im thinking about booking a holiday but not sure I can get any time off work as I've just started a new job 😊 So might be a little cheeky to ask them to take time off already 😬
I'm 16+3 and I'm waiting to see the blood consultant for my issue with my bloods! D I'm sure it's nothing to bad as I've had to wait 6 weeks for an appointment.. I'm sure if it was that bad they wouldn't let me wait so long!!
Also be and my DH had a scan on Sunday and we found out we're having a BOY 💙💙

argon18 · 23/03/2017 16:14

Hiya jumping on board here :)

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today and gender scan booked for next Friday - super excited/nervous!

This is my first one and I must admit I'm struggling with my changing body. I still feel and look like I've eaten too much rather than there's a baby in there!

oliversmummy26 · 23/03/2017 16:41

Congratulations Amz how lovely, we have our gender scan on Sunday when I'll be bang on 16 weeks, so excited!!

Welcome argon unfortunately this is the really awkward stage where its difficult to tell if we're pregnant or just fat!

Heard my SiL was in hospital all day yesterday after a MW appointment as some test results were lost, then she's staying in as they want to break her waters. Her contractions started at 11pm last night and still no waters broken this morning as they had emergencies in and couldn't give her a room. No news since this morning when she was hopefully going up to the delivery suite at about 10am to have her waters broken. Poor thing, she's a week overdue today and this is her first.

Must say though, I wouldn't want the whole family texting each other the ins and outs of how far my cervix was dilated and at what time I had pain meds and this and that happened! I said to DH this afternoon, when we go into hospital no one needs to know other than my parents so they can have DS, then no one hears anything until the baby is out! lol

LouLou030783 · 23/03/2017 19:07

That in between pregnant stage is always the worst as it's is she putting on weight or what lol

Olivers I'd be the same nothing worse than people constantly wanting updates

BlueBlobs · 23/03/2017 21:15

Hi I'm due September 19th, been through 10 weeks of mental hell but now, finally getting into being pregnant and actually coming to terms with my body's changes! Can't wait to find out whether it's a girl or boy - that's the next mental hurdle 😂

Travelgeek · 23/03/2017 22:00

Just catching up after a busy few days away for work. Hi to those who've just found us. Lovely to find out what it is amz. I have the odd dry patch if skin too but got them anyway so dont think its preg related for me. The spots on the other hand! Had my 16 week apt today. Am 16 wks tomorrow but the clinic is Thursday's at my gp's. Lovely midwife, all good and nice to hear the heartbeat. I've started thinking about delivery too but as it's my first it's all new. Thinking I'll go to the standalone MLU. There definitely won't be regular updates to everyone though!

calimommy · 23/03/2017 23:45

olivers I'm with you. No one except my consultant, midwife and husband need know what my cervix is doing! 😂

I think baby had a growth spurt last night. I wore my 'generous' pants yesterday, the ones that I normally feel thin in and are now just buttoning up, but today I was so uncomfortable I had to use the trouser extender. Really can't wait to get my proper bump so I can stop feeling like a fraud with a squishy, bloated belly!!

oliversmummy26 · 24/03/2017 11:38

SiL had an emergency section in the early hours of this morning, poor thing hasn't slept since she got up on Wednesday morning!

I still have the squishy flabby belly, but in over bump maternity jeans and I don't care, they're just too comfortable! Hoping that in another few weeks it will be a proper hard bump though Smile

15+5 today

Travelgeek · 24/03/2017 12:01

Oh poor sil olivers hope she is recovering well and baby is doing well.

sherbertlemon17 · 24/03/2017 12:20

Hope your SIL is holding up ok olivers Flowers

Flabby belly here too. Still managing to squeeze in to my high waisted jeans to control it a bit but my hair bobble holding them together is almost at breaking point! This stage is so annoying! Normal jeans too tight, maternity jeans too big!!

Hey Blue! We're due date buddies Smile

oliversmummy26 · 24/03/2017 13:07

She's doing okay I think and baby was a good weight (8lbs13 and doing fine) I do feel for her though as I know how exhausting it is being in labour/hospital for days and then ending up with major abdominal surgery! I'm sure she'll be fine, BiL is great and will look after both his girls very well I'm sure Smile

LouLou030783 · 24/03/2017 14:37

Aww that's lovely Olivers hope they are both well. A section is always my utter fear with dc3 they had consented for theatre but I managed to deliver just in time

oliversmummy26 · 24/03/2017 16:26

Lou I had an emergency section with DS and to be honest it really wasn't that bad. Also by that stage I just wanted him out!

sugarplumfairy2010 · 24/03/2017 17:42

Its a girl!

LouLou030783 · 24/03/2017 17:55

Congrats sugarplum ur bump looks lovely I'm still at that awkward "fat" stage x

sugarplumfairy2010 · 24/03/2017 18:03

Thankyou i definitely think it has popped the last few days. We have told our two kids tonight and they are really excited. Will start telling people now as its getting hard to hide.x

MrsY87 · 24/03/2017 18:35

I had an emergency section with DD too and didn't find it too bad either. Hope your SIL is doing ok olivers will be lovely for your little one to have a cousin close in age!

I'm still in the fat stage too although a couple of people at playgroup today said they can see the hint of a bump, I think they are just being kind! Lol looking forward to a proper bump too!

I've booked myself a scan for tomorrow just for some reassurance rather than to find out gender as we're keeping that a surprise, looking forward to seeing baby again!

Fluffywallow · 24/03/2017 18:38

Fell off this thread as haven't posted in a few days...having a nice, if chaotic break away (trips with a toddler are never like holidays of old!)

I'm probably going to be having an elcs this time after complications with DD, have a consultant appt on Monday to confirm.

Sugar what a gorgeous bump!

Hope everyone has nice relaxing plans for the weekend.

SuziePink · 24/03/2017 18:56

Can't wait to have a bump like you @sugarplumfairy2010! I don't look noticeably different at all yet, not even fat! When I lie down I don't have the usual hollow between my hip bones but that's about it, I have a feeling I might be waiting a while as I have a tilted uterus and my mum took ages to show when she had me... on the plus side I'm still wearing all my normal clothes.

I'm going to be a bridesmaid for one of my friends in 6 weeks, what are the odds of me popping bigstyle the week before (which also happens to be my 30th) and finding it difficult to fit in the dress...?Grin

oliversmummy26 · 24/03/2017 18:59

I'm 15+5 today a d have just thrown up for the first time! Had all day nausea from weeks 6-12 then felt lots better, but had felt awful all day and threw up when I got home! Wondering if it's because I haven't eaten much today (toast for breakfast and ham sandwich for lunch) I don't think it's something I've eaten as I've had the same as DS or DH and they're both fine. Very odd though, felt very bloated and full of indigestion today, I wonder if it's too much bread...

sugarplumfairy2010 · 24/03/2017 19:14

Thank you everyone this is our little lady. Im suprised at the bump ive got already this is my 3rd though no stomach muscles left now!

sugar, lovely bump and to find out 'it' is a 'she'!

I'm looking forward to finding out, only a month to wait!

Oh dear olivers, I'd say it was not enough food too. The only time I feel nauseaous now is if I havent eaten enough/ regularly. No such thing as too much bread though! Haha. Hope you feel better.
