Hey ladies

I've been getting some random stabbing pains this evening - on the right side of my abdomen a little above my hip bone. I'm also having stabbing headaches on and off for a few weeks. Do you think I need to speak to midwife or see a GP??

Frillyhorseyknickers · 20/03/2017 22:09

cold might be worth giving the midwife a call, even if it is just to put your mind at ease.

Recommendations for good everyday maternity wear and jeans?

Also - allergy relief? I suffer with hayfeaver and I'm allergic to most animal hair which isn't great - living on a farm and around the horses / dogs who live in the house 🙄 I'm mostly immune to my own animals but it's getting to the time of year where my throats is hurting and my nose and eyes are starting to go - how do allergy sufferers survive pregnancy?!

Morning all! Lovely to hear all the holiday plans - we're complete travel junkies and despite thinking we'd have to rein it in slightly when DD was born she had flown 20 times by her 2nd birthday Confused, it's a fantastic thing to do with little ones and we justify it by the fact it's going to get a whole lot more expensive when she starts school! Not sure how having a second dc will change things but we'll see....

Frilly miraculously last pregnancy my horrendous hay fever didn't show up for the first time in over 15 years....quite common apparently. But this time it's already kicking off a bit - I believe beconase nasal spray is ok (but definitely check that), and eye drops are ok I think, and you can also get some non medicinal rubs to put on your nose. Go to the drs and see what they advise. Hope you find something that helps.

Back to work today for one day before hols tomorrow. I'm so so so ready for a break away!

Oh and maternity wear - I am in love with my Seraphine jeans, so comfy and great for work. I also have a v comfy pair of Jojo Maman Bebe ones for more casual wear. Tops, I love Jojo as they stretch with you and are usually nursing ones too. Also got a great jumper from h&m. Then some basics from asos.

Travelgeek · 21/03/2017 07:00

I'm loving my h&m straight leg over bump jeans and I got a couple of basic t-shirts from there too. A jojo maman bebe online order is definitely happening this week as I am particularly struggling with work wear. Thankfully we are a pretty casual bunch but not jeans.

Marking place... Loving the travel ideas, if anyone wants to come to Asia I can recommend Malaysia for travelling with little ones! Ha ha! But seriously, I wish I'd been more up for it with dd1, we came to Bali when she was 10 months and she got passed around a lot, people love kids here and you never get snooty looks for having a wailing child in tow... The flights (to and from Uk, with other Brits) are a different matter though, I have had to confront a couple of very judgy people!
Hopefully having gender scan on thurs.... Exciting!!

Lules · 21/03/2017 08:21

I found my maternity clothes from last time yesterday. My maternity jeans from topshop are the comfiest things ever. I never want to wear ordinary clothes ever again. Might go shopping today.

Travelgeek · 21/03/2017 08:40

Ooh flymo, Malaysia would be great! So many places to go! We are thinking closer to home as we had 3 weeks away last year and struggled with leaving the dog with family for that length of time. Its a big ask. The cat is easy by comparison and just goes to be a house cat at the in-laws.

Have fun shopping Lules!

oliversmummy26 · 21/03/2017 11:11

Lovely scan pic coreyn I'm guessing girl! Smile

Dixie I'm with you on the heartburn! I've been taking 75mg zantac's when I get really desperate as gaviscon is about as effective as drinking a glass of milk!

Coldfeet I get stabbing pains in my abdomen, usually more on the right side than left and when I stand or move suddenly, sometimes when I cough or sneeze too. It's probably round ligament pain, the ligaments holding your uterus in place have to stretch a lot as it grows and if you move quickly they contract painfully. Headaches are very common in pregnancy sadly, but I would mention to your midwife if you're concerned.

Another advocate for the h&m overbump straight jeans here! I'm living in them and can't wash them fast enough at the moment!

LouLou030783 · 21/03/2017 12:02

I lived in new look over bump leggings last time and I'll probably end up doing the same again this time 😂 Although I was huge with dc3 and needed maternity clothes pretty quickly hoping that's not the case this time

oliversmummy26 · 21/03/2017 13:33

Lou how many weeks are you? This is only my 2nd and I had grown out of my regular jeans by 8 weeks!

LouLou030783 · 21/03/2017 13:57

13 olivers

Fluffywallow · 21/03/2017 15:28

I've been in maternity clothes since 9 ish weeks too - it's my second. But I think I was in them by 9 weeks with my first too!

LouLou030783 · 21/03/2017 18:00

Fluffy I was in them early with dc 2 and 3 I mean by 19 weeks with dc3 I was huge when I went for 20 week scan she's like how far along are u is that all 🙄

I'm not sure if because it's been so little time between dc3 and this pregnancy my body has yet to fully register I'm pregnant again minus the killer boobs and sickness

Heyitsholly · 21/03/2017 18:35

Place marking. Only just thought to look for another thread. Just thought you had all gone quiet!!

SuziePink · 22/03/2017 00:35

Hello all, I'm due to have a boy on the 8th September. I found out the sex thanks to NIPT just over a week ago. The pregnancy itself has been pretty straightforward so far (except for a high risk of Down syndrome, hence the NIPT, and my boyfriend breaking up with me), I barely had morning sickness, although couldn't eat curry for some time which was somewhat traumatic, but I've had sore boobs for what seems like forever now!

Apart from being a bit rounded I'm not showing at all and am pretty much in my usual clothes. Nothing to complain about but I just keep forgetting I'm pregnant and it's a bit strange when I remember again!

calimommy · 22/03/2017 00:47

Hi suzie, we are due date buddy's! sorry to hear about your lame boyfriend, douche. Welcome to the group! We also have a fb group if your interested, email me [email protected] if you want to join.

calimommy · 22/03/2017 00:48

Oh meant to say I'm having a boy too, my third boy! ☺️

MrsY87 · 22/03/2017 05:57

HI Susie! We're due date buddies too, there seem to be a few of us due on 8th sept! Sorry to hear about your boyfriend, hope you have some supportive friends and family around you.

Cali what details do you need me to email you to add me to the face book group?

calimommy · 22/03/2017 06:20

mrs just change the settings on your Facebook to allow "everyone" to be friends and send me your email. I'll try to add you via email, but sometimes that doesn't work so if not I can add you as a friend and then unfriend you once your added to the group, to keep it simple!

MrsY87 · 22/03/2017 06:28

Thanks Cali!

sherbertlemon17 · 22/03/2017 07:04

Thanks for the new thread Frilly

From the last thread... I'm glad we're not the only ones waiting to find out. Everyone I speak to almost expects you to find out and are quite shocked when you don't. I love surprises, so it's the perfect end to labour.

Holly I can understand that. In your situation I'd be tempted too!

London I'm rhesus negative too and Sod's law DH & DD are both positive. I had to have quite a lot of anti D in the end last time. The normal 2 plus another for a big bleed and then another after DD was born because she is Positive. Confused

WhatwouldRuthdo · 22/03/2017 07:27

Ooh a new thread. I think we will find out the sex this time. Didn't with DS, but he is so set on having a sister that I think we might need to prep him well in advance for a sister. Also have a huge amount of baby boy clothes I will pass onto to a friend if he gets his wish. 17 weeks now, pretty obviously showing and pregnant and with the onset of SPD sadly.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 22/03/2017 07:28

I really should proof read- prep him in advance for a brother

LouLou030783 · 22/03/2017 07:30

Suzie he sounds like a delight hope ur ok

Whatwould my dd is the same heart set on a girl because we are currently out numbered but I think she will be very disappointed
