That sounds really toughcold, although you seem really positive. Definitely gives me perspective. I've had a few crying moments of the pain of trying to roll over or trying to get out of bed (and ending up in a heap on the floor) but definitely not as bad as yours sounds. I tend to get stuck on my back in bed like a turtle and need to wake DH up to help roll me!

I agree about seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I'm 34 weeks now and this is my last week of work. DS has been really good and understands I can't run or play on the floor with him, and brings all toys and games to me. Any chance they would induce you a few weeks early, like from 37 weeks, if it got unbearable (and if you wanted that of course?)

WhatwouldRuthdo · 17/07/2017 18:34

It must be nice to have a date fluffy! I've been working out the latest this baby could possibly arrive, but I like plans and would appreciate a date for my diary Smile

EssentialHummus · 17/07/2017 18:41

Ooh fluffy that's my due date! Must be brilliant to have a date in the diary, I'm another one who likes to have things planned out.

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 18/07/2017 01:31

Trust me ruth a couple of weeks ago I was nowhere near this positive about the SPD. I was very down about it all - the constant pain, being so reliant on others, not being able to do much with DD and being stuck indoors most of the time. It's only really in the last week or two that I've perked up. Like I said, I think it's because I'm on the home stretch.

Midwife hasn't mentioned anything about an earlier delivery due to SPD. I've told her I'm in pain 24/7 with it, and she is the one who referred me to physio but she hasn't asked how much pain I'm in or how much it's restricting me. I'm seeing her at 31 and 34 weeks. If at 34 weeks I decide I cannot cope anymore I'll speak to her about induction. DH will be coming with me to that appointment so he'll be able to confirm how bad I am. Though from what I've read it don't think they are too keen on inducing due to SPD. Will just have to wait and see!!

fluffywallow · 18/07/2017 08:02

Essential, Ruth, it definitely appeals to my organised side I must say! Will be helpful with childcare for my DD as she can go to nursery as normal....

I'm so flipping exhausted (I know I can't moan as I don't have spd or sickness like some of you - you really do have all my sympathy) but I just feel like I'm never getting good rest, up multiple times at night. I suppose it's easing me into the disturbed sleep to come when baby arrives Confused but I could really do with a solid block of sleep!

oliversmummy26 · 18/07/2017 10:25

Ooh fluffy how exciting!! I'm jealous, I think my ELCS will be either 4th or 5th September, but I won't know until I get a call from the hospital the week before telling me what the date will be.

Same as you though, I like being organised and planning in advance, so appeals to me too! DS will be back at school then, so just need someone to stay over the night before and get him there as we will need to be at hospital by 7.30am I think and it's an hour away...will be exhausted before the baby is even born!

Lules · 19/07/2017 07:36

fluffy I've always thought that looking after a newborn would be fine if it didn't come after months of disrupted sleep and then exhaustion after labour

fluffywallow · 19/07/2017 08:12

Lules it's a cruel twist of Mother Nature isn't it!! Turn an otherwise well woman into a exhausted ill mess then give them a human to look after Shock

fluffywallow · 19/07/2017 08:13

Hope you get a call from the hospital soon Olivers - sounds like we could be cs date buddies!

Lules · 19/07/2017 08:53

Has anyone else's breasts got slightly smaller in the last few weeks? I was going to buy yet more bras but now they fit me again. With the sickness mainly stopping I'm wondering if my hormones have levelled off a bit.

SayItIsntSo1 · 19/07/2017 08:56

Unfortunately not Lules, mine seem to be growing again. Or at least tender like they are.

Growth scan and consultant appointment for me this morning. Really hoping it is the consultant as not one of his team and I can talk to him about requesting an ELCS. I've prepped some notes as well in case I'm struggling to get my points across. Not an easy topic for me so don't want to have got myself all prepared for nothing Hmm

EssentialHummus · 19/07/2017 11:13

lules I started an NCT class last night and a few women said similar. My breasts haven't got the memo sadly! As a side note, I love how it's now perfectly fine to meet a group of random women and 20 minutes later be discussing breast size changes, weeing and leaky boobs Grin.

StarWish1 · 19/07/2017 15:57

After much consideration we've decided to go for an ELCS. The consultant at the hospital was great about this and agreed straight away (we've previously had a meeting with a consultant and a senior midwife about our options which were much longer discussions with lots of information, so this was really just a meeting to convey our final decision). They booked us in then and there so I now know a date!
I was due on 29th August (so felt more comfortable being with the September group) but they've booked it for 39 weeks - 22nd August. Only 5 weeks to go! Grin

oliversmummy26 · 19/07/2017 16:18

Fluffy I'm really hoping they'll give me a date when I have growth scan and consultant appointment on 31st July. I'll be 34 weeks then, and imagine it would be tight to squeeze in another appointment before 39 weeks. They seem to be scanning me every 4 weeks at the moment..so we will see.

Say how did you get on with your consultant appointment today? Hope you managed to get your ELCS agreed?

Wow Star 5 weeks left, that's so exciting!!

SayItIsntSo1 · 19/07/2017 16:35

My appointment was pretty positive. He said he'll talk me through risks at my 36wk appointment but if that's then still what I want he'll book in a date there and then. It was a huge relief to have him say it's my choice and there will be no pressure from him to decide anything different, he just wants my consent to be informed.

I still think it may be a tough conversation to sit through but I just need to try and stay calm and keep my head straight on what I want.

Knowing it will likely be at 39wks also allows us to start to plan more around dates and making sure I have help at home for the weeks afterwards.

fluffywallow · 19/07/2017 16:37

Wow star, exciting! Great you got a date and that they were nice.

Olivers - I'm getting scanned every 4 weeks too and my consultant tried to tell me this time (at 32 weeks) that they'd book it at 36 weeks, I said 'oh so not today then?' And she said, 'oh yes we can if it makes you feel better' - so I'm pleased I mentioned it (I normally just nod along!) definitely push to get it booked at 34 weeks, you'll feel a weight lifted.

StarWish1 · 19/07/2017 17:06

I'd agree that it's really nice to get a date booked in so do mention it at your 34/36 week appointments. I'm feeling really positive about the decision and now I know I've got 5 weeks to mentally prepare myself for hopefully a nice, positive birth experience.
Someone mentioned to me a hypnobirthing for CS audio track on iTunes so I'm going to have a look for that.
Say I'm sure your follow up meeting will be fine.My first consultant meeting sounds similar to yours (where they said they were happy to go with my wishes) but I was still expecting to have to justify myself this week. However, they were really ok. The consultant actually stopped me mid ramble and said 'don't worry, you don't have to convince us. If this is what you've chosen that's fine.'

londonfeather · 19/07/2017 21:50

I've just had about 15mins of period like constant pain right at the bottom of my bump. Really hurt and made me feel really sick... Feeling a bit better now and baby is really wriggly (as normal) but not had anything like this yet. Anyone had anything similar? Im 33 weeks

fluffywallow · 20/07/2017 07:26

London ouch that sounds painful! Whilst it's probably just baby burrowing down you could always give your midwife/hospital a call just to check?

SayItIsntSo1 · 20/07/2017 09:20

London I've not had anything quite like that but I have started to get what I think is baby kicking my cervix. Really makes me jump and very uncomfortable.

Is anyone else getting pregnancy insomnia? I've seemed to get it quite a bit the last week and last night I was awake 12.30-3.30 having fallen asleep absolutely shattered at 9.30pm. I just end up laying there, not able to sleep and brain going 100mph Sad

sweetpea20 · 20/07/2017 09:21

Hello Ladies - need suggestions on how to convince my hospital that I want an epidural which means i need to in the labor ward instead of the midwives unit? any ideas, this is at St Thomas.... as i cant tolerate gas&air :(

SayItIsntSo1 · 20/07/2017 09:24

London I had a really sore bump when I woke up for a wee in the middle of the night. Felt a bit like trapped wind, had back ache with it and I wondered if it might be braxton hicks...never really sure if I'm having them! I've also felt like I've been having my cervix kicked every now and they Say which really isn't pleasant!

Sweetpea have your hospital said you can't go to the labour ward and have an epidural? If you can't tolerate gas and air I would have thought it would be a no brainer? Usually you have to fight to get on the midwife lead unit, not the other way around!

londonfeather · 20/07/2017 11:36

Thankfully bambino didn't make a surprise entrance last night!! It's made me realise how close it is all getting now. So this afternoon is operation get some shit sorted - going to pack a hospital bag and need to start washing baby clothes etc I think! It has seemed such a long way away for so long I can't believe it is actually happening.

Tonight is our first NCT class - I hope the people are nice!

WhiteLily86 · 20/07/2017 12:23

Oh it is all becoming so close! Less than 7 weeks for me until due date.

Feel like we made progress last night, got the car seat from John Lewis (Joie iGemm, mainly because it looks good and matched my pram colours Blush) and it was £50 cheaper in John Lewis than mothercare, so def worth shopping around. Also ordered our nursery furniture from mamas and papas, it was only 10% off but got some other little bits and bobs, some great discounts in there too just now.

Not that we have anywhere to put the nursery furniture or baby stuff yet...joiner doesn't start on the nursery until 7th August and will be two weeks work Confused

But will pack my hospital bags this weekend just so I feel a bit more organised.

Anyone got any other good advice on things they have bought/good deals? I am a stickler for a sale bargain Blush
